it is a horrible grey wet very cold day here. Had to go out and got freezing cold and couldnt get warm. So have done what was necessary but just having a problem getting warm still. So the halo is shining a little as I have managed to throw yet more rubbish out and do a little bit of sorting and trying to go through telephone book and add some new numbers and cross out old ones. Now the numbers are so long and have no rhyme or reason to them, I cant remember them and have to keep checking them!! Hoping the promised snow or frost doesnt happen as there is a lovely magnolia nearby which looks very beautiful but if it is frosty will get ruined and the tree is too tall to put a cover over it. I used to have a a magnolia stellata which is a small tree/shrub and so with this forecast I used to go and throw some netting over it to keep the frost off. fingers crossed it survives. the daffodils are looking lovely so hopefully we shall get back to some better weather soon. Hope you all have a good evening

Good morning Mick and all his followers! Not a brilliant day here and the forecast is for worse weather. It’s a day for ironing and housework I think. I have to nip up to church to learn what to clean, where the vacuum is etc as I am now on the rota. Most important is what is the knack to opening the door!
Chris3 I know exactly what you mean about the sewing. I have lots of projects which have not passed the planning stage!
Best wishes to everyone with worries and I hope the day is kind to us all.

A late good morning from a dismal Durham, where we've already had rain, hale and snow and the sky is still heavy and grey. I haven't posted for a while, as too much 'mundanity' going on here, but I've read posts and send my best wishes to GM, Chrissielou and anyone else feeling below par or looking after sick and worried family. It's not easy, as I well know.
I've just dropped DD2, her DH and DGS1 off at the airport for a flight to New York. I think they are mad, but I've kept that to myself! It took 2 cars to get them to the airport as they had so much stuff. I'll be on tenterhooks awaiting a text tonight that they've all arrived safely and the Hotel room is as promised. As usual, I have their dogs to look after while they're gone, so coat on now and off for a walk while there's a break in the weather.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a sunny Dunblane. Blue skies but a biting cold wind! Had a visit to SiL for coffee yesterday morning first time visiting her at her flat for ages was very enjoyable. In the afternoon a drive with DH to Callander which is just about 25minutes away. Lovely walk when we were there. We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of Scotland.

GD2 comes here on Wednesdays after school so looking forward to that. May do some baking with her. cupcake

Good morning Mick and all from another dull day on the northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday singing in music club but again the night cramps had me out of bed in the night, must really do something about it. A friend recommended magnesium
, so will give that a whirl. Also ate too many chocs from my birthday presents of a few boxes.
Off on the bus to usual lunchtime concert although the broken night has left me unenthusiastic.
Take it easy Mick and thoughts to GM and all with troubles.

Good morning Mick and everyone. The weather has definitely taken a turn for the worse in my corner of Lancashire. Driving rain and howling wind, currently 4°C.

Glad you’re feeling better Mick but I would take it easy for a while longer while you regain your confidence.

You needed a good sleep after a frustrating day Grandmattie, hope tomorrow’s meeting with the urologist is more productive. I’m glad you’ve had a little good news as well.

Allsorts people will realise your post was meant for another thread (which I’ve read and I agree with you!). I hope you can get some rest.

Sounds like a lovely day out yesterday Marydoll, don’t let anything spoil it.

No plans for today. Yesterday’s shopping trip pretty much wiped me out so a day of pottering is on the cards.

May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 30-Mar-22 10:02:10

Good Morning from soggy, wet, chilly Harrogate.
Hope you soon have a plan for your DH GrandMattie but the a rest when you can meantime.
Today is nothing day, will just potter around doing nothing
Have the best day possible folks

Jax and Merlotgran we used to rent a caravan in Stokes Bay when I was a child. I remember one day we sat on the beach and watched a Gun boat or some such, firing missiles at a boat moored up some way off shore, everyone on the beach cheered when they hit it and booed when they missed.
Happy days late 1950s……

Good morning all from a dull W Kent. DH birthday yesterday and for the first time in many months all those living near enough managed a meal out together. I am afraid I spent a lot of it just sitting and looking at them all together again.
Friend coming over this afternoon, we intend to plan a few days out when the weather gets better but we need to get them in the diary or it never happens.
Good wishes to all .

merlotgran Wed 30-Mar-22 09:54:42

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry south coast.

My wheels have arrived Jax but I’m a bit housebound today and tomorrow as luck (sod’s law) would have it there are deliveries to wait in for. Stokes Bay is just a short drive from me. I used to take the grandchildren for walks there when they were all small and I was on Granny duty. I always wave to my friends on the Isle of Wight!!

Hope everyone has a good day before cold weather returns.

Chris3 Wed 30-Mar-22 09:54:27

Good morning from a wet and grey South Yorkshire. Housewifery and hopefully some sewing on the agenda for today. I thought when I retired I would have lots of spare time and be able to do lots of sewing but so far this had not come to pass. How is this lol?
Love to all and have a good day xx

Good morning everyone from a grey and chilly Northampton. Bit late this morning, so will go back and read everyone's doings later.

I did eventually manage to speak to a doctor yesterday and sorted out what was bothering me - all well now. Did not go on my health walk in the afternoon as it poured with rain here, so stayed in and watched Prince Philip's service instead. I thought it was very well done, with sublime music and excellent speakers.

Just done an LFT before book club this afternoon, thankfully negative. Had intended to go to a rugby match tonight, but snow is forecast here, so thought better of it! Back to winter clothes after a few dalliances with t-shirts last week.

Wishing all well today.

henetha Wed 30-Mar-22 09:35:03

It's a sunny morning here in south Dartmoor. Having tested negative for eight days now following my close contact with covid I think I must be in the clear and can go out today.
I am very puzzled as to why I didn't catch it.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 30-Mar-22 09:34:10

That is happy news grandMattie and hopefully a secure future for your DGS. I agree with his mum to give him some money to enjoy now. A lovely reason for you to smile today?

Jaxjacky Wed 30-Mar-22 09:29:03

Well that is better news grandMattie, and sensible Mum too.
Have a lovely trip to London EkwaNimitee you’ve waited a long time, enjoy every minute.

grandMattie Wed 30-Mar-22 09:09:52

Happy news.
I had a call last evening that at last Philip’s pension pot has finally been given to his boy. Problem is that with a 6 figure sum, if not careful, he could be taken advantage. His mum is very sensible, so I’m not too worried.
She is allowing him a grand to waste… ?

EkwaNimitee Wed 30-Mar-22 09:04:58

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool (3C) Carlisle where it is rather showery.
I went into town yesterday on a difficult search...for ballet pumps in a narrow fit. I came back empty handed. Two possibles were not in my size. I noticed M&S had a new section for wide fittings which seem to be the in thing, 2 online firms I patronise have nothing else. Never mind, I shall probably be wearing fur lined boots for my weekend away.
A morning of a little housework and some admin beckons plus I need to do an LFT before I depart especially as I've woken with a bad headache for some unknown reason. Too much reading of books with tiny print? My charity shop pile of them is growing.
I hope there is soon some positive action for your DH grandMattie. My thoughts are with you.
Have the best possible day all of you.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 30-Mar-22 09:02:36

Chrissielou, sorry to hear your daughter is having a difficult time?

GrannySomerset Wed 30-Mar-22 09:02:02

Funeral at lunchtime of friend who has died too soon and who will be so missed in our small community, so a sad day. Otherwise must read the next section of the Lent group book for tomorrow and plan some real cooking. I have bought a Remoska in the hope I will be motivated to learn to cook for one. Has anyone experience with this? I am hoping it will save on electricity too.

Agree with Marydoll that there is some very judgmental response which is not helpful. I am always pleased when posters have something happy to say, sad for them when they don’t. Life is hard enough without adding to the difficulties.

kittylester Wed 30-Mar-22 08:49:48

Morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today but sending lots of love, support and good wishes to all.

Anniebach Wed 30-Mar-22 08:49:28

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmajean Wed 30-Mar-22 08:48:11

So so sorry Chrissielou I put the wrong user name. I know Gingster has a daughter having treatment too.
