Urms I’m really enjoying watching The Simpler Life. It’s unusual for me to put down my reading and concentrate on a programme but I am with this. Surprisingly DH is enjoying it as well.

Soop, I`ve resisted asking this for many years now, because I didn`t want folk to know that I`m stupid, but I really NEED to know! What do you mean when you say that you`re putting the first wash on a painting?

Happy tooth day Suedonim! My dgs2 is busy teething at the moment and life can be difficult for him and his mum! Blossoming I was sorry to read that you had a nasty message. Some people hide behind their computer to be unpleasant. You are loved here! Soop it sounds like you are progressing well with the dog portrait. I need to practise as my art class restarts next week.
I visited mum this morning and she was ok. I get a feeling of dread on a Wednesday before I go, as I never know what the 'weather' will be like. Then I was invited to dd for a coffee this afternoon. So two hours of playing with dgs1 and a cuddle with dgs2 has set me up for tonight. I've made red cabbage slaw and defrosted homemade pizza if anyone wants some. Have a good evening all.

Thank you for the first-tooth related posts. His mum found it the hard way - poking her finger in his mouth and he bit. ?

He seems unruffled by it all, as happy as ever and sleeping all night. He and big sis have gone home today so ‘only’ six of us here now. The day’s been full of laundering of bed linen, tidying of toys, collecting up of forgotten items and hoovering.

This evening we’re in charge of the 4yo and 7yo. I’m informed they’ll go to bed ok but it doesn’t matter if they don’t.

Shelflife my grandson has special needs and autism so we definitely never know what he’s going to do, he’s so funny. My DH has a doze most afternoons. He sleeps like an absolute log all night as well.

Having had to rush out and fetch the washing in, the rain has gone and it’s a beautiful blowy afternoon. I really can’t be bothered ( you know the word I’m thinking!) to put it out again.
The PCC are meeting here tonight so everywhere is clean and tidy and the agendas are printed! I just need to clean the loo!
Our DGC break up on Friday and we have just had “we are both at work on Monday and Tuesday” texts! They can “help” us move out of our bedroom, ready for the decorator.

Shazza, enjoy your dinner, my DH had fallen asleep in the arm chair ! We never know what our GC might do next!! Nibbling on grape hyacinth is a new one , we grow them in our garden too ,so happy to learn they are not poisonous - may need that tip for future reference!!

When I comes to Horlicks I am glad to be gf. Milky drinks and i are not a good match!

I would absolutely love to drink a horlicks with you ladies but in my gluten free life I can’t but it’s the one drink I really miss so much. So mine is a tea with milk and no sugar.

Shelflife I’m watching my 7 year old grandson enjoying his stick man book while the film is playing on tv. Just got him in back in to eat his tea after playing on his scooter and nibbling the grape hyacinth plants in the garden luckily they aren’t poisonous. Bit of a panic for a few minutes.
Also sitting back and watching DH cook the dinner.

Hi everyone, thought I would call again and share cake and coffee with you . I am relieved to sit and enjoy your company after being on Grandma duty all day , entertaining a three and a six year old. Three year old locked herself in the bathroom this afternoon! a very simple slide lock but she had trouble deciding which way to push it! She shot into the bathroom so quickly then shut and locked the door. Fortunately the only one feeling rising panic was me ! Three year old kept saying
" Grandma I can't stay in here all day"! After speaking gently and reassuring her she finally slid the lock in the correct direction and opened the door. So I am now so happy to sit with you all and relax !!

Well, I have spent the afternoon painting the pet portrait. Thus far, so good. I shall therefore close the "studio" until tomorrow. I shall sit and look at the results during the evening. If I am still hopeful tomorrow when I first see it, I shall know that I am on the right track.

Not a bad day, weather-wise. Blowy, but dry with sunny spells. Still no sign of a certain cheeky pussy cat.

I trust that those of you who have been feeling out of sorts are resting and recharging your batteries. Relax and eat of the calorie-free kind.

Urms I am doing my utmost to resist the urge to make a creamy Horlicks. My waistline was beginning to expand, so I thought that I should reduce the calorie intake. Such a shame.

Jax when I saw the swelling on the photo of your daughter's lower leg, I thought...heck...that could be the result of a broken bone. Just as well that she now knows what and what not to do to help the healing process.

brook Do share with us if those dear grandchildren stayed put until 7am. Aren't you a classic optimist.

I intend putting the first wash on the pet portrait this afternoon. The dog has the noble bearing of the Pointer breed. I hope to report that all has gone according to plan later this afternoon.

I’m late in tonight. We’ve been babysitting then I watched Ep.4 of ‘The Simpler Life’ about living with the Amish. I’m really enjoying it. Now I’m off to make myself a mug of Horlicks (I think I’m addicted) and then ?

We’ve had a busy day with the DGC but it’s all quiet just now, DGC are both tucked up in bed pretending to be asleep … 8 year old DGS I’m sure is still reading under his duvet and 7year old DGD has every single teddy, doll and other various soft toys in bed with her.. I’ve asked them not to get up before 7am so will see in the morning..!

His first tooth Sue how lovely, I bet your DGS looks super cute - ours are at the next stage now with regular visits from the tooth fairy

I have been helping Mr. B with some craftwork examples he’s taking to show the support group he volunteers with. It’s not physically demanding but I have to concentrate and l’m tired now. Goodnight all, TOYA.

News flash Our six month old GS has his first tooth! He has a voracious appetite so I’m sure it’ll be put to good use sooner rather than later.

Daughter got a call from the hospital ‘we missed a fracture on your foot’, she’s awaiting another call, but she’s driving and load bearing which they told her to continue, very odd.

Our visitor has departed. She lives in Andover and has spent a few days landscaping the sprawling garden of our mutual friends in the village.

When we got home from Leeds yesterday we popped in on our daughter and son in law to take some baklava we bought them. As soon as the door was open DGD1 who is 3 launched herself at us. Lovely❤️ Then DD said ‘oh mum and dad we may have covid’ she has a temperature today and it’s rife at nursery. DGD said ‘grandad I felt very poorly this morning but I’ve done a test and so I feel better’ so cute. Thinking about it ladies I’d better not pop in to the kitchen with being kissed all over my face by a potentially covid riddled 3 year old.

I could do with a nice slice of apple cake please.

I have post covid dizziness (I assume) abd am hiding in the lounge by tge fire. We have the lovely roof men here trying to 'plug' the gaps and just about every door and window is open. Anyone got a blanket?
