It’s been sunshine and showers here today and rather chilly. I’ve been out for a stroll around the marina, my balance is still a bit wonky but it is improving. The sunshine is deceptive but I can watch boats for hours, whatever the weather. The boating season doesn’t truly get going here until Easter, though the storm gates are open today for the first time this year. Nice to see lots of people enjoying a drink or a snack outside the Marina coffee bar.

What a lovely convivial kitchen, quite the party with plenty of newcomers, the more the merrier.
A tad warmer here today down south, think we have rain later in the week, weeds don’t stop growing do they, a job for this week.
DD is now on one crutch, I think that ankle is weakened from previous netball strains and bumps, thank you for good wishes.
Wishing you a gentle evening all x

Although I haven't fully caught up with all the latest news, I am well aware that there is a huge amount of good will being shared in our kitchen. Long may we continue to enjoy each other's companionship.

I wish every one of you a pleasant and peaceful evening. I shall raise a glass of G&T at eight thirty on the dot. smile moon

Dear GrannySomerset Relax. Keep warm and please, get well real soon. sunshine

It is most thoughtful of our new Kitcheners to remark on my post-op progress. I am indeed doing very nicely. Thank you. I owe so many people a huge debt of gratitude for supporting me through the tough times. It is true that, for me, the kindness of strangers has helped me to enjoy a newer, fresher lease of life. I shall never forget your kindnesses.

Jax Your daughter's sprained ankle looks extremely ouchy. Sending her healing vibes.

MawtheMerrier It's grand to have you back with us lot.

Grandmafrench Your lovely message makes such good sense. I agree with most of what you say. Except that SweetiePie may be female. In which case, she/he continues to be a bit of a worry. hmm

There are many, many newcomers to our kitchen. You are all most welcome. It gladdens the heart to realise that we are continuing to be hospitable to so many kind and caring Gransnetters. Please, do stay and not drift away.

I'm not a 'kitchener' but pop in to see how Soop is doing. So nice to read that she's fit and able to do the normal everyday tasks like stripping beds and emptying washing machines. Really glad that her op has helped (despite subsequent ups and downs!)

Welcome singingnutty. Some of us have been here more years than I care to remember!

singingnutty Sun 03-Apr-22 15:02:48

Have just discovered the new kitchen so thought I would pop my head round the door. I have been lurking around over the past few weeks and following soop’s progress. You have all been such a support so well done everyone and especially the lady herself. I was at a funeral on Friday of a lovely lady who I knew through singing and also through NWR, and it was wonderful to hear the tributes of friends and colleagues who said how warm and friendly she was with such a mischievous sense of humour and she had her lovely smile right up to the end. A kind of person like soop I think by the things you have all said, so really great to know that your lovely friend has the chance of years of better health ahead of her now.

Cor! shock I was not prepared to discover so many wonderful returns of so many much-missed Kitcheners. Let alone so many welcome newbies. WELCOME to you all. flowers
To be honest, I am overwhelmed and need to spend proper time reading through every message. It is lunchtime and I have a washing machine to empty and a bed to strip. I shall return later and hope to be able to say a proper thank you to all you special peoples.

Urmstongran Sun 03-Apr-22 11:57:48

Charleygirl5 I think GrandmaFrench meant you’d be at soops kitchen sink doing all our dishes? I could be wrong.
It’s been known ...

Pittcity Sun 03-Apr-22 11:56:57

Surely there's no washing up, pastry crumbs, spills, dirt or dust in this kitchen!!!

Charleygirl5 Sun 03-Apr-22 10:21:28

Grandmafrench- a cat will outlive me because I do not want an elderly cat or an older one with multiple medical problems which are uninsurable. I think I am being practical.

I do not understand the joke about washing dishes! I live on my own, own a dishwasher and domesticity is really not a great part of my life. I was destined for greater things!

ShazzaKanazza Sun 03-Apr-22 10:13:11

I’m popping in for a lovely cup of tea and to recount my sitting at the bar last night watching bar staff making amazing cocktails. I had two lovely mohitos. I love the smell of coffee but not the taste.

Blossoming Sun 03-Apr-22 10:03:31

Good morning all, what a lovely evening we had in the kitchen with friends old and new. Today the sun is shining and the birds are singing. Bacon rolls for brunch in a little while.

dragonfly46 Sun 03-Apr-22 09:07:32

Good morning all, what a lovely cosy new kitchen.
I too have been absent for a while but will try to do better. I have been isolating with Covid!
Good to see missing posters posting again, it would be good if others joined us.
Just going to help myself to pastry and coffee.

TillyTrotter Sun 03-Apr-22 08:38:22

Good morning brook and baubles .
I smelt the coffee and am now tucking into lush breakfast pastries. Thanks ladies.
Well …. I was in the kitchen last night and wine may have been drunk ? ?, and I need something to perk me up a bit this morning.
I hope everyone finds something to perk up your Sunday.

baubles Sun 03-Apr-22 08:29:01

Just popped in to say happy new kitchen to soop, it’s looking great, you have impeccable taste. smile

I’ve brought delicious pastries, absolutely calorie free. Enjoy.

brook2704 Sun 03-Apr-22 08:04:23

Oh my goodness what a lovely busy Saturday night in the kitchen yesterday, great to see everyone
I’m sneaking in early today to tidy up before soop is up, shush … ?
The kettle is on, there’s coffee brewing and freshly baked croissants on the side
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday and see you all later

cornergran Sun 03-Apr-22 01:51:37

Coming in quietly as it’s very late, or rather very early, I’ve been entertained reading your posts if sorry to read about more folk with covid and of other trials. Life was ever thus it seems.

Delighted to find the new kitchen. I know my presence can be sporadic but I do read your messages and think of you all. Now I really must try for sleep or poor Mr C will be tolerating my grumps when daylight comes.
