Trying for the second time

For the last few months, I have been a " lurker" - this because after the first and only post so far, the aftermath left such an incredible reaction. Briefly, I posted that we had loaned some equipment over Christmas. Some of the responses were so vehement, bordering on vitriolic {one contributor wrote "what kind of gullible idiot are you anyway"} - breath-taking, that is it only now I have the courage to post again. Have to add though, that that particular post apparently breached the guidelines of GN and it was removed, but of course the damage was done. So.....trying again in the hope that this might elicit a more positive response. sunshine

I have very strong opinions on some subjects and get called all manner of things!

Do I care about trolls on an internet site? hahahaha.

Hithere Sun 30-Oct-22 19:46:22

Totally brainless, sorry !

Hard to encounter... my cell is brainless today

Well, mine must be too as I seem to have resurrected an old thread by mistake.

As I said, it is nearly Hallowe'en

Countessfosco
I am sorry you are having issues with your threads

It may be hard time counter opinions very different than yours, it is life after all.

Callistemon21 Sun 30-Oct-22 16:54:31

Apologies!

Callistemon21 Sun 30-Oct-22 16:52:48

I have no idea how that happened!

That is really weird, isn't it.

I'll report my post.

Spooky (Hallowe'en tomorrow.)

JaneJudge Sun 30-Oct-22 16:29:47

Callistemon, why have you bumped an old thread? grin

Welcome Countess .

I totally agree there are some gransnetters , who are appallingly aggressive and bullying .

I certainly have been upset by the nastiness .
I notice that it seems to be the same people .

As my friend from Trinidad says ,they are badly broughtupsy !

Nannarose Sun 03-Apr-22 13:39:10

I feel that I should comment, as I made what was intended to be a light-hearted post about your username.
I certainly didn't criticise your actions or post; but having been upset by other comments you didn't take my Countess Fosco reference in the spirit in which it was intended- and having seen those comments, I understand why.
So again welcome!

Smileless2012 Sun 03-Apr-22 12:20:41

Thank you GSM and Chewbacca.

Chewbacca Sun 03-Apr-22 11:37:29

Smileless I'm really very sorry to hear that you've lost your little cat; it's a wretched feeling isn't it? You know that you're doing the right thing and that you're doing it because you love them so much but, no matter what, you feel bereft, guilty and miserable. flowers

FannyCornforth Sun 03-Apr-22 09:48:35

It breaks your heart doesn’t it.
When my little Lily, a Tibetan spaniel, died, I could hardly bear it.
thanks for us all, and our wonderful, much loved and missed companions

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 03-Apr-22 09:47:09

I’m so sorry Smileless. The place they have in our hearts and homes is huge isn’t it. They are indeed our family and always will be. ? for you.
Apologies for hijacking your thread Countess, didn’t mean to.

Charleygirl5 Sun 03-Apr-22 09:39:28

Countess may I suggest you start off with two threads both of which will welcome you, Good Morning and soop's kitchen and start gently from there. Good luck.

I know the feeling, my cat Tara was pts 15 months ago and the house is still feeling empty.

Smileless2012 Sun 03-Apr-22 09:32:23

flowers for you GSM. I lost my beloved cat just 3 weeks ago and despite having our two dogs, the house feels empty and changed.

We love them so much don't we, they're not just pets they're a big part of our family and we miss them terribly when they've gone.

BlueBelle Sun 03-Apr-22 09:22:30

Yaaay well done countess
If you encounter any harsh answers move on to something else it’s just the same in real life if someone’s nasty avoid them but don’t expect everyone to agree either ??

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 03-Apr-22 09:14:08

Thank you everyone.

CountessFosco Sun 03-Apr-22 08:29:50
