Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where its -1 °C.
Another doing of nothing day for me. I'm finding it quite difficult lazing and resting, when the sun is shining on the dust! It goes against my nature to be still and do nothing, but DH seems oblivious to things.

The knowledge that DD, SIL DS2 and DIL are safely home from their separate trips and a lengthy phone call from a GN friend, who is also unwell lightened my mood. What a great gift, genuine friendship is, we are as bad as each other and would have to share the talking for Scotland gold medal.

We are awaiting news of wee Dollie, who hurt her eye at a party yesterday and then had to go for her first Covid vaccination at six years old. As she is CEV, we are concerned that she may have a reaction, she takes after her doting gran, (whoever she is) in many respects.
She was very sorry for herself in the video, complete with over exaggerated trembling lip, with some dramatics thrown in, which DS1 sent last night. Poor wee soul, but papa and I couldn't help, but smile at her acting skills. They are off on holiday tomorrow, so fingers crossed. I cannot believe that the school holidays have started. I loved the Easter holidays, when I was teaching, it signalled a downhill sprint towards the summer ones!

There are a fair number of GM grans, who have seriously ill family members, I am afraid to miss someone out, but all are in my thoughts, I pray that you all find the strength and good health to cope with all that life throws at you. ?

For all, those who are unwell, I wish you a speedy recovery. GMBatty, good luck for today and Ashcombe, I hope your twinges settle down. Thankfully, it sounds like your spray is not causing you any side effects, as it did initially.
It can be quite frightening having angina symptoms, especially away from home. I have them most days now and it drags me down, as it limits what I can do.

Whatever your plans folks , enjoy and make the best your day, if you can! We never know what is awaiting us round the corner!

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining but it is cold.
DH is off to rugby this morning with one grandson, the other is on his way to Egypt for a family holiday.
I have already prepared the vegetables for our roast pork dinner later this afternoon.
Good to hear that your DH is eating again GM.
I'm sorry to hear about your DH Grandmadinosaur, I wish him and you well.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone xxx

Good morning everyone from a bright and very frosty morning in East Northants, where I am staying with DD.

Had a lovely lunch out yesterday with a friend and a mooch around a garden centre. Then headed into town early evening to a concert in which DD was playing; it was lovely to see and hear her band performing again. Then DD brought me back here for an overnight stay.

Today would have been our Golden Wedding anniversary, so a day of happy memories mixed with sad feelings as DH is no longer here to share it with me. DD is taking me for some retail therapy, so I will enjoy that, and we will have some lunch out.

Sharing a picture of our big day, also of freesias I managed to get on Friday as they were my wedding flowers.

GrannySomerset Sun 03-Apr-22 08:27:25

Looks like another non-day so will give in and hope I don’t feel any worse. If this is a mild bout of COVID I really wouldn’t want a bad one. Paracetamol and fluids again, I think, and something for the sea lion cough. Very boring.

Grandmabatty Sun 03-Apr-22 08:24:01

Grandmadinosaur ?. Best wishes to you and your husband. I hope he gets well soon.

Beauregard Sun 03-Apr-22 08:22:57

Good morning from Derbyshire where we have a frost but milder weather to come.

We're supposed to be going to watch DGS play rugby this morning but it depends how DH feels when he gets up. He's been tired for two days since his blackout on Friday and appears to have started with a cold so may not feel like going. My cough and cold are still lingering after two weeks. We both tested negative again yesterday.

What a difficult time you're having Grandmadinosaur hope your DH is feeling better soon. ShazzaKanazza Enjoy your break in Leeds. I'm pleased your DH's appetite is improving grandMattie.

Thoughts to all feeling unwell today flowers. Hope you feel better soon.

merlotgran Sun 03-Apr-22 08:22:15

Good morning everyone from the sunny south. DD is taking me out for a belated Mother’s Day treat. Not sure what she has in mind as it sounds like a mystery tour but I’m hoping lunch will be involved!

I hope your DH will soon be on the mend, grandmadinosaur.

Have a good day, everyone.

Grandmajean Sun 03-Apr-22 08:16:19

Good morning.
Goodness Grandmadinosaur you've had an awful time ! Hope your DH recovers quickly.
It must be so good to see your husband enjoying food againGrandMattie
Cold here in Cheshire but dry.
Not much happening today apart from delivering a birthday gift to my GD who will be 17 on Tuesday.

Lins1066 Sun 03-Apr-22 08:12:13

Good morning from our corner of the S Welsh coast, Alexa says it is 1 degree with clear skies and sun. I tested positive on Friday, I have had headaches and a bad chest for a few days. No intention of doing much today, Mr L has brought me a cuppa and says it is frosty.
Hope your DH is better soon Grandmadinosaur
Thinking of those who are struggling for whatever reason, hope today brings some comfort ?

baubles Sun 03-Apr-22 08:03:24

What a worry grandmadinosaur, I hope you get positive news about your DH before too long.

baubles Sun 03-Apr-22 08:00:47

Good morning Mick, morning all from sunny and cold South Lanarkshire.

Good to hear that your DH’s appetite is improving Mattie.

Look after yourselves Gaga and Blue.

I managed yesterday but was completely bushed when I got home. Urms, you asked about the onerous targets set. I’m afraid they’re set in advance by head office so no account is taken of staffing levels. As to volunteer hours, it’s up to us to ensure we have cover and we are having trouble getting people willing to come in on Saturdays which is understandable.

I’ve got a little one playing with vehicles at my side now. He stayed overnight and later we will take him home and stay with him. We’re moving in to DD’s house for the week to look after the youngest while the rest of the family are off skiing in France. Apparently the airport was pandemonium early in the morning. It was the same a fortnight ago when we went away - self service check in with luggage can be stressful.

Have a good Sunday everyone. Sending a virtual hug to those who could use one.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 03-Apr-22 07:57:20

Grandmadinosaur I was messaging the same time as you lol. So sorry your DH is in hospital what a worry for you you’ve had such an up and down time these last couple of weeks ???

GrannyGravy13 Sun 03-Apr-22 07:56:59

Morning Mick and all

Right blue sky and sunny here in my little corner of S E Essex, but boy is it chilly.

Absolutely no plans for today, other than roast pork for two early evening.

Wishing all a peaceful Sunday

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

kittylester Sun 03-Apr-22 07:55:51

Good morning all from a cold North Leicestershire.

Not a lot going on here apart from hanging new bedroom curtains (at last) and ringing a couple of daughters.

Roast chicken for lunch.

Have the best day possible everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 03-Apr-22 07:53:12

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a fine Leeds.
Mick really hoping your confidence to get out comes back soon enjoy your day with your feet up watching cycling.
grandMattie it was lovely to hear your DH enjoying that lovely meal. ? is that a recipe I can find or your own invention?

Today we will have a wander round the city centre, last nights meal in the gluten free restaurant was yum then a couple of mohitos and an early night. Bad night sleep though as I never sleep well out of my own bed so we’ll come back to the hotel later for a nap before we go to the show tonight. My snoring kept DH awake so he was on the I pad and his phone keeping me awake!! Lol

Bluebalou and Gagagran hope you feel better soon and your LFTs stay negative.?
Take care everyone and hope Sunday brings moments of joy??

Grandmadinosaur Sun 03-Apr-22 07:50:45

Good morning from east Yorkshire where it is 2 degrees and feels chilly.

I’ve been AWOL with a nasty bout of Covid both me and DH that is. We just wanted to sleep for England no energy, no appetite. It was really unpleasant. Pleased to say am recovered but DH was admitted to A&E on Friday with a burst appendix. Still there now but on a ward obviously. He was dehydrated so on a drip for that and his blood pressure was very low which is unusual as has been on BP meds for 15 years. He’s in the best place but there’s no visiting.
Yesterday I had a visit from the family they had got me some shopping. I had missed seeing GS last week and he said he’d missed me too. So we made up for it with a big snuggle. Lovely. He drew some pictures for Grandad that we sent him photos of on WhatsApp.
They invited me for lunch today - it’s an early one as GS has a party later this afternoon. I’m looking forward to it especially missing my Mothers Day lunch with them last week.
Also yesterday I had to get Yorkshire Water out to the outside drain. Don’t like having to deal with these things myself but the 2 men who came were lovely and sorted the issue out.
So life has been eventful the last few days. Thank you to the Grans who sent me pms I appreciate your concerns.
Hope you are having a good time in Leeds Shazza the gf restaurant sounds great. I’ll be interested to hear about it.
Take care everyone and thoughts to ones with worries, illness, family illness.

brook2704 Sun 03-Apr-22 07:47:05

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny but still very cold, we’ve rain forecast for later
Yesterday turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon so I was happy pottering around in the garden with the added bonus of getting my washing dry outside too.
So good to hear your DH is enjoying his food again GM, look after yourself too
Another quiet day for me today with nothing yet planned - will see! I’ll probably end ip outside again until the rain comes in.
Sounds like your DiL enjoys her sailing Gaga a great hobby to have. I hope you’re feeling better soon
Good luck to your DD running the half marathon Pittcity and enjoy your family time
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 03-Apr-22 07:46:41

Good morning all from bright Harrogate still chilly but dry
Yesterday we had a fall of snow pellets which brought back a whiteness to the area.
It’s good that your DH is getting his appetite back GrandMattie
Hope you feel better soon Gagagran
I think it’s wise to wait til you have your new specs before venturing very far Mick
Yesterday I did some painting, today I plan to finish another picture, apart from that not much doing.
Sorry you have not been feeling well Marydoll hope you soon bounce back.
Have the best day possible folks

Grandmabatty Sun 03-Apr-22 07:44:02

Ashcombe could the cold weather have exacerbated your angina? Take care to you, and BlueBalou. ? To you both.

Grandmabatty Sun 03-Apr-22 07:42:09

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -2°. Cold! Blue skies at the moment but that is is forecast to change to rain this afternoon. Grandmattie that Persian dish sounds wonderful. Gagagran take things easy. Pittcity good luck to your daughter in running a half marathon.
Yesterday was housework day and all was accomplished. I put out some Easter decorations too.
Today I have a hospital appointment to check my eyes. It was a regular thing before the pandemic because I'm diabetic. Obviously they are trying to get rid of the backlog hence working on a Sunday. I can't drive to it because they put in eye drops so dd and the boys will take me. Son in law will be at football so we might all come back to my house afterwards. Chicken for dinner. Have a good day all.

Ashcombe Sun 03-Apr-22 07:39:24

Good morning, all, from a cold (-1) but sunny Sarthe, much like yesterday.

For no particular reason, my angina pain made a return visit yesterday after an absence of several weeks. The spray eased it but I had recurring twinges throughout the day. I’m pleased I have a face to face appointment with my cardiologist in a few weeks.

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday. ????✝️

BlueBalou Sun 03-Apr-22 07:37:19

Frosty start here too.
I feel really rough, achy all over. Will do another LFT though the previous one was negative.
Going back to bed.
Have a better day than me everyone!

Beechnut Sun 03-Apr-22 07:31:19

Good Morning everyone from frosty Severnside where the lawn is white this morning.

A successful day in the garden yesterday and I felt so much better for being out in the fresh air and busy. Much the same today.

Good to hear your DH is enjoying eating Mattie.
Thinking of you today BlueSapphire ??

Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts ????

Pittcity Sun 03-Apr-22 07:23:31

Good morning from sunny but below freezing Colchester. It's forecast to stay dry today.
I'm up early because DD1 is dropping DGSs off soon as she is running the Harwich half marathon and her DH is working. I'll probably end up at the play area in the park with the 5 year old while his 11 year old brother plays computer games with DS.
None of us fancied watching the marathon...too cold!
Love to all ? x
