Good Morning Everyone,
Its cloudy here at the moment but dry in Brackley , anyway whilst out yesterday I noticed that the blackthorn is still very much in blossom , normally a sign of colder weather to come.
I did enjoy my hour in Bicester yesterday , the bakery cafe I use asked where I had bee so I told them .
But today an easy day watching cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

it has been good to read all your posts and catch up a bit.It is sad for your DD Scentia. It is good she has you all to care for her. I have been out of it for a bit, and rather struggling with things. One thing seemed to lead to another , so had antibiotics etc and then ended up with rash and itching and needed other ointments etc and the worst was lack of sleep etc. We had that lovely weather for a short time, which was great, but it has now gone back to very cold winds and frost etc, which we should still expect but dont seem to be able to get warm. However we do have lovely daffodils out now and some beautiful blossom , there has been some lovely magnolia to enjoy, but the frost has decimated some of the blossom. I know it is easter this weekend , but doesnt feel like it right now. We always did Pace eggs where we painted boiled eggs and then we used to go to a park with a little hill and roll them down with wooden spoons and the winner got a little cream egg. ( always cleared up any mess!) Cant meet up with my son and family as he and his wife have had covid , despite having all the jabs and I am still shielding so just hope that things begin to improve. I wish you all a happy Easter and it is good to be able to read your posts and have this contact

Welcome newbies, I am hiding from a very nice structural engineer who is allegedly going to cure my house problems, second time lucky ?

Just back from a lovely lunch and natter, so good to catch up with family news.

Glad your stomach is settling Hollysteers, hope the lethargy improves now.

Welcome to this friendly thread Briony. Apologies to any new posters I may have missed.

I’m in need of a nap now, I’m not used to all this gadding about grin

dustyangel Wed 13-Apr-22 12:30:11

I still haven’t caught up properly but can’t can’t resist saying hello and Congratulations to Bellasnana and sending best wishes for her daughter and those tiny twins. It must be so hard to leave them every day. flowers

Beautiful morning in Oxfordshire. I've been baking cakes and Easter goodies with my GC this morning.lots of fun times.
Haven't read previous posts yet but thinking of you all.

Marydoll Wed 13-Apr-22 12:13:52

Welcome to our new posters. I didn't think my post would get any results, but so pleased it encouraged our new posters.

Auntieflo Wed 13-Apr-22 12:04:48

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Another late post, and I missed yesterdays altogether. On catching up I see the glorious news from Bellasnanna, congratulations to your DD3 . Such lovely cuddles to come.
Sending love and best wishes to Kittylester's DD and to those DD's who are going through Chemo treatment.
GrandMattie, you are doing a sterling job, looking after your DH. Just remember to rest yourself.
There is a lot of sadness and stress going on that I can't remember all who need a hug.
But it seems as though Marydoll did well in negotiating her way to the hospital appointment.
There is such a lot to catch up on, so I will do that in a minute.
I managed to get into the garden on Monday and plant up my sorry, leggy nasturtiums. They were quite fragile, but most seem to have survived, and it was so nice to be out in the garden. But after an hour I was pooped and my back was so sore.
Yesterday we had the electrician around, to look at work we want doing . Hold breath for the quote when it arrives.
My lovely cleaner has just finished, and is taking her girls for an Easter egg hunt. I must look out the Easter decorations I made last year and put them in the window, for the children to see.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
The old war wound bad stomach is settling down now, but I’m feeling lethargic after it. Will get back to house stuff and singing practice today. Have sent flowers to my late BILs partner now in a hospice in the south. for palliative care and might write another letter as couldn’t speak to her on the phone this morning.
Had a palaver changing over to TalkTalk from Sky yesterday but all done now. Managed without internet for half a day, wow so read my novel. What you don’t have you don’t miss.
Thoughts to all with troubles at the moment ?

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s raining and dark in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 10°C.

Well done on your trip to Bicester Mick, small steps is the way to go.

Hope you have a peaceful day Grandmattie.

You must be so relieved your daughter has come through her op Kitty.

Well done on your expedition through the roadworks of Glasgow Marydoll. I used to dread having to drive to meetings in Glasgow when I was much younger. I had to give up driving following my brain injury. Have a restful day today.

Glad you’re feeling less anxious Urmstongran.

Joyce I’m another who never goes out but have always been made welcome in this friendly thread. Please pop in and say hello whenever

Having said that I never go out, today we are meeting BiL for a pub lunch and catch up. I’ve not been in a pub for 2 years, exciting times ahead!

Just before Covid started I was ill with an autoimmune disease, Stevens Johnson Syndrome. I was on immunosuppressants and had to isolate. I only went out to visit the hospital. I was pronounced clear and discharged on a Saturday and then the first Covid lockdown started. My sole day of freedom was spent visiting the hospital for a CT scan of my chest. As it was evening by the time we left the hospital we stopped to pick up fish and chips on the way home. It was lush! I’m glad I had one good memory to help me through lockdown grin

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times. Wishing everyone the best day possible flowers

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 13-Apr-22 10:22:15

ill, damned auto correct, I’m getting fed up with your shirt ?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 13-Apr-22 10:21:28

Good morning from a cloudy Oxfordshire, felt I’ll again on Sunday, took a LFT but it reads positive, so just a sore throat/head achy stomach bug then. Great. Although I’m surely immune for a few months anyway?
Up all night (literally) so I’m going to plonk myself down with a book and that’s it for today.
So sorry to hear so many families really going through the mill, I hope that better days follow for you all.
Love and hugs.

dustyangel Wed 13-Apr-22 10:16:30

Good morning all from a brighter Algarve. Brighter for me after a very bad night and brighter weather wise as the sun has returned this morning.
Im glad to see that Mick’s outing went well but shall have to catch up with everyone else throughout the day.

luluaugust Wed 13-Apr-22 10:10:12

Good morning from cloudy W Kent. A phone call to friend this morning, usually we meet up but she is having a tree sorted out, then off for a bit of lunch out.
Very sorry about your DD Scentia
Glad the driving went well Marydoll, I felt the same after weeks off.
Best wishes to all

hulahoop Wed 13-Apr-22 10:06:03

Kitty good to hear dd op went ok after a long wait .
Scentia sorry for your sad news.
Granmattie hope new antiemetics work.
Have a good day all.

Chrissyoh Wed 13-Apr-22 10:00:02

Morning all from overcast Liverpool!
Prompted to join in by **Marydolls post.
Really enjoyed reading all the other posters.
I’m guessing you all just check in each day ?

I’m in the midst of a “sorting stuff out “project - but seem to be causing chaos as I go ?‍♀️.
I’m looking at all my old coats today ( or will be if I can put my phone down ?).

LifeOfBriony Wed 13-Apr-22 09:59:23

Good morning everyone, this is my first time posting on this thread, thanks to Marydoll for the encouragement. This is my first day of an Easter break from work. Work is very stressful at the moment and today I am going to have a slow day at home. I will read for a while but see where my thoughts take me.

I'm a new-ish GM - we don't see our GS as much as we would like as they live nearly 200 miles away. But we have a video call most weekends.

Taichinan Wed 13-Apr-22 09:52:36

Good morning all from a yet again grey Angus coast. We had some glorious weather earlier in the year, but it's difficult to remember that when the grey persists for so long! Good news from DS1 - they put their large house on the market on Saturday and it had sold by Monday!! Now they have to find themselves another, smaller house (yes, my little ones are beginning to downsize now.). They are now on the buyers side of a seller's market ..... Joyce your comment rang a bell with me. All my interesting happenings come to me via third parties now! Which reminds me, my niece should be back from LA this week where she's been visiting her DD and family. Her SiL is showbiz, so it's always an interesting catch-up when she gets home wink. So glad everybody's yesterdays were good, or at least a little less bad. Well done Marydoll and Mick on your successful excursions. It was lovely to be remembered like that, wasn't it Mick. Grandmattie I meant to say yesterday how much I loved your latest quilt, and how sorry I am to hear of your DH's illness. So hard for you both. Best wishes for a pleasant/exciting/hardworking/relaxing day everyone. Take your pick. xxx

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:49:01

Good Morning all from cloudy Harrogate
GrandMattie once your DH's body gets used to the drugs he will probably settle (Hopefully, anyway)
Glad your DDs op was successful KittyLester hope she is home soon.
Good to hear your normal jaunts have resumed Mick and that your friends missed you.
That is such sad news Scentia
Didn't doubt you Marydoll being able to drive, mind you it's so long since I have driven I have completely lost my nerve, not helped by DH deciding he will drive if I want to go anywhere. Am now hoping to persuade him that the car needs a run (euphemism for I want to go to some shops that aren't in town!)
Have the best day possible folks

Urmstongran Wed 13-Apr-22 09:45:46

Thanks Marydoll. I’m down from high doh today. x

harrigran Wed 13-Apr-22 09:43:06

Good morning from an overcast NE after overnight rain.
Had a lazy day yesterday, didn't do any housework.
Pleased your DD's operation is over kitty, I can empathise over the long wait as my last op I sat from 7.30am to 3pm before going to theatre. At our hospital you are not assigned a bed until you return from theatre.
Pleased your DH has had some relief with nausea drugs gM, we could never get it right with my DH.
DIL had covid just before we went on holiday and thankfully I seem to have escaped the lurgy.
DS said last night that GDs would be expecting Easter eggs, despite being all grown up, so I guess I am going to have to go shopping.
Have a good day.
