Bless them all every one, Naninka!

What do you think animals think about sharing the planet with humans
Although not religious, I am agnostic so have an open mind, I do believe I have a guardian angel. I was in full blown alcoholism from the age of 15 to 28 when I went to AA and got sober, I can remember some things that happened to me during those years but a lot I cannot, just some flashbacks but I really think I am living on borrowed time and should’ve been dead a long time ago, I’ve put myself in very very dangerous situations over those years. The one thing I could not get my head around in AA was a God who apparently looked after drunks, well not all of them a lot of people die drunk a lot more than get sober. Also this higher Power that apparently looked after me, why didn’t it look after a 16-year-old girl who was cutting through the park to get home and she was raped and murdered why was she not saved by her higher Power? Anyway for those reasons I do believe I do have a guardian angel and I think it could probably be my aunt May who used to tell me she used to pray for me and luckily I was sober when she died at the age of 88 actually on her 88th birthday… And very controversially I don’t see alcoholism as a disease, No one held me down and poured drink down my throat and I knew what would happen when I got drunk but I continued to do it. Cancer is a disease, my brother died from it in 2003 at the age of 49 and I still feel guilty about that and feel I should’ve been the one that died not him, he was such a good man. Anyway to the main point of this thread, do you think you have a guardian angel?
Bless them all every one, Naninka!
I have a Parking Angel, Balance Gods, a Search Angel and an overall, Guardian Angel. They may well be one and the same! I should have died on 7 different occasions.

Give them a break Miss A! They are only human.

there have never been any records/ historical accounts about Father Christmas
Have you not heard of St Nicholas, DiscoDancer1975??...fair enough...
?
There is a lot of nonsense written by humans about angels. Angel tarot cards are just ridiculous. People create a whole world of angels and make it up as they go along.
If anyone wants to learn more about what the Bible says about 'Angels' and 'Angel Guides' in particular I would recommend the Reachout Trust article:

I believe in God and in the power of Prayer.

Even then, it seems to be a bit of a lottery as to what your guardian angel will do for you.
Some will stand by and watch you get battered to death.
I've already answered that question twice on this thread.

Can someone tell me why people say we can only have one guardian angel? Surely if you believe in God, Jesus and angels you believe that there are multitudes of angels. Are they really limited in number , one per person?

Not a guardian angel....just Jesus. As far as I know, there have never been any records/ historical accounts about Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy or the Easter bunny! I may just have been sick that day.
Life after death is what’s it all about. All you need is a faith in Jesus. God said this life will never be perfect. It’s just the rehearsal. If you believe in God and Jesus then you must believe in angels because there are many instances of them in the Bible including the one that visited Mary.
Oh yes...of course, just not that I have one as a guardian.

Volver that’s it really.
Kate so very sorry.
If it gives people comfort then there's no harm in it. Each to his own.
When my 14 year old nephew contracted leukemia and died two years later, people would say to my brother and SIL (his parents) 'I'll have a Mass said for him' or 'I'll offer up prayers' they would reply. 'Please don't bother. Where was your God when that boy (and all the other children in the ward) were going through hell?'
Great question...6 years ago I was going through My marriage breakdown after years of is both being unhappy.I had bought Myself a flat and one night I woke up and could see a Pirate..yes the Jack sparrow type standing at the bottom of My bed side on peering down at Me with his hand/finger on his face as you do when You are thinking ..My heart was pounding..I closed My eyes and kept saying to Myself it was just a dream I opened them again and he was gone.Another time shortly after A old lady was bending down over me with a big warm grin...I realise this may have been because I was stressed and only just woken up but like to think I was being kept an eye on

Shinamae, no, I certainly don't. I just believe that some of us are lucky, others aren't. I see belief in 'guardian angels' as fanciful thinking, inventing reasons for things - when life is pretty much a lottery.
Exactly MissA. So it's just some of us that have guardian angels then? I have a friend who is a believer. She says it's a precaution in case there is a God. She gives to charities, not really to help them but in case God is watching and therefore she will be rewarded.
Yes definitely. I have experienced the feeling of being forewarned and protected. There is a enormous amount that we don't understand and is beyond our comprehension. We have a guardian angel and spirit guide/s.
For me, it all comes down to the question of why some people feel they have help to park, and others children are tortured to death.
Why would a guardian angel allow that?
Sorry, I don't usually get involved in the religion threads. Live and let live, I say, when it comes to religion.
I can show you electron microscope images of the elements and compounds you mention. Dogs hear things we can't because their hearing systems are tuned to different frequencies. The wind is a measurable phenomenon that can be characterised with the right equipment.
People can believe in what they want, I truly believe that. But when they start trying to say science could prove them right in the future - well its been 2,000-plus years, and nothing yet. Even though we've looked. We've looked through all 11 or more dimensions that string theory predicts, and - no angels.
There's science, and there's belief. They are different.
Juts a thought. What about the wind? You can't see the wind but you know it exists. What about oxygen, hydrogen, carbon monoxide etc. You can't see them but you believe they exist because scientists have managed to discover them and prove their existence. Likewise the atom. 200 years ago people would not have believed such things existed. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It may be in another dimension that our human eyes can't see. We know that dogs can hear sounds we can't hear and it's been noted many times that animals can also sense a spiritual presence because they are 'looking' at something apparently invisible that the human eye can't see.
