Dog mess bins

They do smell vile, even when there's next to nothing in them. I hate using them.

I have an area near me frequented by professional dog walkers. They collect the poo in bags but leave it on the ground. When challenged, I was told they pick it up on the way back - they don’t! Another puts all the poo bags on the rear bumper and scatters them up the lane as she drives off!
Unfortunately the council couldn’t site the bin where it’s needed, so dumping the poo bag means parking up after the walk and going back to the bin.
I honestly don’t know what’s the answer?

There are some round here who put the poo in a bag then just drop the bag on the pavement. confused

I agree that people shouldn't leave bags of dog poo lying around because the provided bin is full but I also think that if bins are provided, they should be emptied.

This is never an issue where we live because the bins are emptied on a regular basis.

I was told off by someone for putting my dog poo bag into the normal black bin. I knew I could as it all goes to the same landfill, and updated them on the situation.

It must be your area- we have 6 or 7 in our village, all of which are emptied regularly.

What alot of dog owners do not know is that poo bags can now also be put in the normal black bins that are in many areas , in some areas these bins now have it written on them that they are also for dog waste

The bin in the car park at our country park is often overflowing with bags left on the ground. There is another bin just further up the exit road that doesn't get used. Bags of dog poo lying around stink and I noticed lots of flies around this morning so not very hygienic either.

Sorry I'm new on here, ignore the AlsoAnd. I was going to add that what is the point of tying your dogs poo on branches and fences? Lazy and inconsiderate imo.

Having a Lab/Retriever myself I agree about taking your own dog poo home with you. Why would you want to leave bags overflowing for some other poor soul to clear up? AlsoAnd

We are lucky where we live, ours get emptied very regularly thank goodness! Nothing worse! And there are a lot of dog bins three very near to us, I don’t understand it either Armynanny people just adding to it is disgusting! My sister in law was saying where she lives near a woodland area people actually hang them on tree branches like decorations!

I’m sure this has been covered before but I just need to have a rant. I went for a walk on a popular common nearby yesterday and was absolutely disgusted to see the bins provided overflowing and bags left on the ground. I was told by one dog walker that ‘they’ don’t get emptied. Now I know we pay our council tax and they should be emptied but that doesn’t make it acceptable to leave the bags on the ground. What is wrong with people these days that they have no pride in their community. Bins fall, take the bag home, they have already been carried to the bin so why not take them home? I’m just disgusted by the mentality of people.
