Morning from a sunny S Hants, we do need some rain though, hose was out last night.
Enjoy today grandMattie. Fingers crossed for you Ash.
Well done Urmstongran, a good loss.
Thoughts with your daughters Chrissielou and Gingster ?
Voluntary phones today and a drive.
Enjoy your day all ??

Taichinan Thu 21-Apr-22 08:31:48

Grandmattie you are certainly going to find your happy with your DGDs today! Enjoy every deserved minute. And congratulations on the weight loss Urns - you must be feeling the better for it. Fingers crossed for you Ash.

Taichinan Thu 21-Apr-22 08:22:51

Good morning all from a sunny start on the Angus coast. Yesterday the good weather lasted just long enough for me to optimistically pile the huge cotton downie cover into the washing machine. No sooner had I had done that than the haar came in, and that was that for the rest of the day. It's out on the line now, and my fingers are crossed ...... Had my summer booster yesterday, with no after effects, and now I'm off for a morning of tai chi, my happy time. I hope you all can find your happy too, in even the smallest way x

Anniebach Thu 21-Apr-22 08:18:06

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 21-Apr-22 08:14:20

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Glad you are making progress with DHs treatment. What a lovely treat for your DDs. You’ll probably be OK Ashcombe it’s not long since you had Covid?
Glad your DD is happy with her treatment Crissielou
Today I have my Sainsburies shopping delivered and later in the day I zoom call my sisters. In between times have to find out why I couldn’t get through to my bank online yesterday.
Yesterday I had DGS after tea and didn’t know what time he was being collected so decided to give him a bath, then he was almost ready for bed ? when DD2 did arrive to collect him.
He loves his bath with bubbles and I knew where he was! AndDD was grateful because she was later than intended.
Have as good a day as possible folks

Pittcity Thu 21-Apr-22 08:05:16

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
I am going to seize the day and get the bedding on the line as there is rain forecast for tomorrow. Shopping for the weekend too as we have a full house again on Saturday night.
A decorator is coming to quote later as DH has run out of steam with DIY and I'd like the house finished by C*****s ?

Love to all ? x

Grandmadinosaur Thu 21-Apr-22 08:00:18

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is 8 degrees and there is a blue sky.

Had a nice wander around the city centre yesterday and treated myself to lunch of my favourite crab salad sat outside in the sun.
The show I went to in the evening was very good. It had been booked 2 years ago and cancelled several times so I was surprised when I got the tickets out to see our tickets were in the front row! At one point one of the dancers came up to my friend and invited her to touch the sparkly wand he used when he used to be on the It takes two show with Zoe Ball ?

Today I’m waiting for a shopping delivery early doors then will decide what to do the rest of the day.

Hope your day goes well GM

Thinking of your brave daughter Chrissielou
Enjoy your day out in Lincoln Shazza
We done Urms half a stone eh. Tell me your secret!

Take care everyone.

Marydoll Thu 21-Apr-22 07:51:25

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.

Busy day ahead for you GM, however it sounds as if it will be a fun one!
I know what you mean about a shortage of medication, GM, I was down to my last injection, but there were resourcing issues, as its being used worldwide, in Covid ICU, for totally different needs to mine. Fortunately, much to my relief, a delivery arrived just in time on Friday, especially as the alternative was to have it on a drip, in hospital. I don't think I would be very welcome, in my present infectious state!
I'm fascinated with how Covid science has developed in the last few years. There are some very clever scientists out there!

I have nothing much to report. Day eight, still very positive and nauseous and going to be toothless, until May. However, my dentist suggested that I buy a dental repair kit and cement it back in until then. DH bought one yesterday, but looking back on my disastrous record with superglue, I still haven't done it. ?

Yesterday, I got an unexpected call from the lovely GP, I spoke to on Tuesday, who was concerned about me. I have certainly had ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ treatment from the NHS.
I asked her advice about the tooth and explained my worry about infection, because the RA is now affecting my mouth. However, since I am on permanent low dose antibiotics, she thought that should keep any infection at bay, until it is resolved. I think that when you are unwell, you catastrophise about everything.
She was sympathising at the absence of good luck in my life and burst out laughing, when I said I was changing my mantra to Carpe horam, (sieze the hour), as opposed to Carpe diem!!!
I need to lower my expectations.?

I hope today turns out well for those who are expecting it to be problematic and for those with plans, enjoy! I am quite envious.

Belated birthday greetings to Blue Sapphire, I hope you had a lovely day and that you survived yesterday, Baubles.

monk08 Thu 21-Apr-22 07:49:10

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Shopping today and I want to see if I can find some new tops ready for my holiday.
grandMattie it sounds like you're in for a lovely day with the girls.
Ash ? you avoid another dose of covid.
Urmstongran well done on the weight loss.
I'm that slow at typing many more posts will have appeared so best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Thursday everyone and may you all find some ?.

baubles Thu 21-Apr-22 07:44:23

Good morning Mick, morning all from cool and cloudy South Lanarkshire.

I hope your day with your girls is as delightful as it sounds Mattie.

Thinking of you and your DD Chrissie.

My day yesterday was so busy, meaning lots of money through the till for the charity. I changed six mannequins then had to redo three of them as the outfits, which had previously been on the rails, sold almost immediately.

Childminding day today and I need to wrap presents for the little one who’s birthday is in a few days. They will be away for a few days next week so I won’t see them on the day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible and hoping the covid warriors are getting better.

Gingster Thu 21-Apr-22 07:41:05

Good morning all from another sun kissed morning here in Essex. ☀️.

We had a lovely wander around RHS Hyde Hall yesterday. The tulips were exceptional and all the blossom trees so beautiful.
A glorious time of year!

Today I have my bowls group but won’t be able to go to art club this afternoon as DD is due at the hospital for her second immunotherapy infusion. Not as aggressive as Chemo so fingers crossed she’ll feel ok afterwards.

Chrissielou - thinking of your brave DD and of course , you!
This lovely sunshine should help her!

GM what a lovely day you have ahead. ?.

Ash ?for you.

BlueBalou - I know what you mean with trying to work out ‘strategies’ in the wee small hours. ?. Drives you mad in the end! ?.

Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day. One way or another. ???

Grandmabatty Thu 21-Apr-22 07:29:46

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and very grey. I think it's a haar. Hopefully it'll burn off soon. Grandmattie a nice day for you ahead. Ashcombe fingers crossed that you avoid another dose of covid. Brook send that sunshine down to me! Chrissielou best wishes to you and your daughter. Urms well done on losing half a stone!
Yesterday mum cancelled my visit as she was going back to bed. Art class was fun. I started dgs1 dinosaur painting and worked on my tulip head one too. Then home for a bit more weeding.
Today I might go to my local garden centre as I really want to get moving in the garden. Otherwise I have no plans. I'll have a salad for dinner as I'm using up stuff before an Aldi visit tomorrow. Have a good day all.

kittylester Thu 21-Apr-22 07:29:00

Good morning from my bit of North Leicestershire where it is also sunny.

Life has calmed down a bit round here so we are taking Persie shopping for her birthday - she want clothes and stationery. DS2 is coming for a cuppa later.

Enjoy your days everyone and sending love and best wishes to all.

Susan56 Thu 21-Apr-22 07:22:08

Good morning from Shropshire.

We will take DGD home this morning as she has a play date this afternoon then home to catch up on housework and the garden.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible and thoughts to all struggling with illness and other worries??

Beechnut Thu 21-Apr-22 07:18:10

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I’m looking forward to a sewing day.

Hope you all have a good day ???

Chrissielou Thu 21-Apr-22 07:16:52

A beautiful morning here in Oxfordshire. Thank you all for your kindness yesterday, DD1 is recovering from her treatment on Tuesday. The ward was especially busy and rather fraught with an emergency situation arising in the bed next to her. She is resigned to losing her hair, it is inevitable on this cocktail of drugs.
She is enjoying sitting in the garden in the sunshine most days and loves having the children home, they are happy and coping well with it all.
Well, I must get on but wish you all a good day.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 21-Apr-22 07:16:43

Good morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful blue sky Hull. The garden is really crying out for rain. It had the hose on it again last night
.
grandMattie enjoy your girly time today what a lovely thing to do together. ?

Hope you avoid Covid Ashcombe

Today we are having a drive out with both having a free day. We were going to Harrogate but it’s the flower show so thought it would be busy with parking and queues etc so going to Lincoln instead. We’ll have some lunch and a look around the lovely shops.
Have a lovely day everyone and hope Thursday brings a moment of joy??

brook2704 Thu 21-Apr-22 07:15:36

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely sunny start to the day
How lovely to be taking your DGDs for pampering GM - enjoy!
Nothing much planned here today except the usual gardening and housework, I could go out but I’m quite happy in the garden whilst the weather is good
Sounds like a busy day urmston and well done with the weight loss ?
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

dragonfly46 Thu 21-Apr-22 07:05:53

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Tai Chi this morning the I must get my robot mower working!

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 21-Apr-22 07:04:16

Morning Mick and all

The sky is blue here in S E Essex, for some unknown reason I have booked my hair appointment for 8.30am this morning!!

Enjoy your time with your precious GD’s grandMattie ?

Oh dear Ascombe I hope you have avoided the dreaded Covid.

Marydoll I hope you are on the mend.

Urmstongran what a busy day ahead, I hope your blood test is ok, (don’t worry!)

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Gagagran Thu 21-Apr-22 06:56:22

Good Morning everyone from a sunny and bright south coast. 8.5c and set to warm up so should be a lovely day. "Oh to be in England now that April's there".

I have a WI coffee morning to attend later and also need to collect my repeat prescription from the pharmacy. I am looking forward to a visit from DS tomorrow as he is in our neck of the woods for another advanced one-to-one motorbike course with the former police outrider. It is concentrated on safety and skill tips and he is finding it very useful. I find it reassuring!

Hope the day is a good one for us all and especially for grandMattie and her DH. flowers sunshine

Scentia Thu 21-Apr-22 06:55:45

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun is out.
Off to work early today as we have an early delivery!
Picking DGC up from nursery at lunchtime and we have some errands to run before we go home to practice on DGS new bike, he has only had a balance bike and this has pedals?
GM a shortage of drugs is a worry isn’t it.
Take care, and enjoy this sunshine ?

Urmstongran Thu 21-Apr-22 06:54:40

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it looks lovely out. I’m up before the alarm (again ha!) to see sunshine and a pale blue, cloudless sky. Very pleasant start to the day.

I’m tapping this out with short nails, in a baby pink gel polish. The mani/pedi yesterday was much needed, I hate long nails - I bet your girls really enjoy their treats grandMattie. I do hope the oral medication does the trick now - so much easier and more comfortable if it does.

Busy day here. We drive over at 8am to take the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss to school - one in the infants door and one on the junior side. Then home for toast and coffee before I head off to the doctor’s surgery for a repeat blood test. After that we drive over to take my stepfather to M&S Food Hall. We don’t need anything as we go away on Saturday but he wants to stock up for while we are absent. After that it’s home for a couple of hours then back to do the school pick up, a nursery tea and off to their swimming lessons!

Enjoy Thursday all who can. I’m happy - I’ve lost another 1lb this week on my low carbohydrate diet so that’s half a stone now. Yippee!

Ashcombe Thu 21-Apr-22 06:50:25

Good morning, Mick and company. I’m glad you’re gradually feeling better. One day at a time is a good maxim. The day looks promising again. ?.

What a lovely day you have planned, grandMattie, with the reassurance of company for your DH. What lucky DGDs! It must have been good to grow up in a bilingual environment.

I’m glad you’re reading one of my friend's books, Blossoming - I believe the seventh one is in preparation! I’m currently reading the third, which I’m enjoying more than the second one. For any other Gransnetters who like light crime fiction, the author is Stephanie Austin. www.stephanieaustin.co.uk

A busy day yesterday, unpacking, food shopping and reuniting with Wednesday Club friends at the theatre then going to Cockington (where we were married) left me very tired by the evening. Then I received my first ever Track or Trace notification that I’d had close contact with a confirmed Covid case on Monday - another “benefit” of our fraught Channel crossing. ? I will test later so ?.

Good luck with the logistics of your day, BlueBalou! Such things always seem worse in the wee, small hours, don’t they?

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. ??????
