Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s bright and sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 13°C.

I’m running late this morning so will read the thread later.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times.

Wishing everyone the best day possible ???

Feelingmyage55 Fri 29-Apr-22 10:36:19

Good morning. It was so cold last night that I was worried about frost but it stayed just above freezing. I too am going on a bluebell walk today, then shopping for the holiday weekend.
After the bank holiday I may be brave enough to go away for a couple of nights and stay in Glasgow as I would like to visit the reopened Burrell Collection.
Wishing you all a day with some happy moments in it.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning all from a sunny Angus coast. Much-needed rain is forecast for later, but I do love a sunny start to the day. The lift it gives to the spirits seems to last all day. As I write, there's a beautiful butterfly, with wings outspread, basking in the sun on the doorstep to the patio. I'm not up on the names of butterflies I'm afraid so can't tell you what it is.
In a moment I am going to hop in the car down to the beach to see what the tide is doing. People are asking for more tai chi on the beach during the summer (not today!) and I want to compare the graphs of tide movement that I have with the real situation! That part of the beach fills up very quickly and I don't think we want get wet! I had two lovely classes yesterday morning in the hall - everybody was in good form.
I hope all poorly people and carers have a better day, and all travellers pleasant journeys. ? ?

Good morning from yet another grey overcast day in Northampton. Looks chilly out, so I shall wrap up warm when I go to the shops for my usual Friday mooch.

Shall have a spot of lunch out, then home, an early dinner, then out to rugby tonight to watch Saints play Harlequins - Friday night under the lights, always a great atmosphere!

DS returned my suitcases yesterday, and by the time he had gone home I had chosen and ordered a new laptop! My current one is about 15 years old, and so so slow. Took an hour to warm up and get going the other week and print something out. It is arriving on Sunday, and DS has promised to come and set it up for me.

Have a pleasant Friday everyone.

Good morning all from sunny Llandudno- our penultimate day here. Today we drive my sister to Llandudno Junction to get her train home to Cheam. The other sister and her DH will drive back to Lochmaben. We will do some last minute shopping and hope to reclayour parking space. They’re quite scarce especially since Llandudno celebrates with a Victorian Weekend tomorrow and tons of visitors will be descending on the town.
Pantglas my thoughts will be with you for the funeral
Glad your DH is starting to feel better GrandMattie
Sorry you are feeling uncomfortable just when you are leaving Marydoll hope you have managed a relaxing break.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning from a cloudy, sunny W Kent. Off for a break today in Norfolk, looking forward to a change of scene.
Best wishes to all.

Nannagarra Fri 29-Apr-22 09:11:53

Good morning from a sunny Sefton coast.
A nightingale? Wonderful, Ashcombe. I haven’t heard one, unfortunately, but I do enjoy curlews’ calls when we walk along the coast.
Long may your good news continue grandMattie. Hopefully Susan56 will soon report that H is 100%. Molly Weir? Such an attractive lady, baubles. Fifteens are new to me so I may well have a try. Tiffin and Mars bar slice? Yummy!
After 30+ years DH is willing to view a bungalow tomorrow. Strangely, he is keen. This isn’t part of our usual script. We seem to have reversed roles.
???
Best wishes to those travelling and may the sun shine on you all literally and metaphorically.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from sunny and dry, dry, Carlisle. The hose will be out again I'm sure.
I've various little jobs to do before DS1 arrives after lunch. He was happy to hear it was sunny up here but it's often clouding over in the afternoon.
I cancelled my June holiday due to my prolapse and got most of the cost repaid promptly by the tour company. Now I have to claim the cancellation fee (large) from the insurance. I thought it would be a straightforward matter of a letter from the doc and completing a form from the insurance company. Not so! They require that plus a list of other things including the surgery completing one of their forms. Bureaucracy, don't you love it!
I'm going for some consoling retail therapy with the returned cash, I need new shoes, a favourite pair is literally falling apart. As I now have a policy of only buying things I need, I'm looking forward to this opportunity to spend.

Carpe diem with any sun that appears, I gather it's not to last so have a good day all.

Chris3 Fri 29-Apr-22 08:41:00

Good morning from South Yorkshire where the sun appears to be putting in an appearance ?
Finally managed to get my invisible zip in yesterday on the third attempt!!!
Think a bit of gardening is on the cards today... Can't waste this sun.
Have a good day all xx

ShazzaKanazza Fri 29-Apr-22 08:19:09

Baubles I remember that commercial as clear as day and now that’s how I’ll picture you when I see your name.

Grandmabatty Fri 29-Apr-22 08:18:56

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 3° and cloudy. Marydoll I know that fish and chip shop very well! Ashcombe I have never heard a nightingale. My favourite bird song is also the blackbird. Pantsglas I hope the funeral goes well. Susan enjoy your quiet day with H.
My quiet day yesterday changed as dd came round with the boys after nursery. Dgs1 has been leaving early to get him used to it. He's absolutely loving nursery though and has made wee friends. However the wee soul has a uti. He had had a number of 'accidents' which was very unlike him so now he's on antibiotics. Dgs2 has a cough and is wheezy so dd will contact the nurse about him too. They were both on good form yesterday though. We made bubbles and looked for ants and, of course, played trains. He was delighted with his dinosaur painting.
Today we are going out for lunch with my aunt and uncle. They are away for a few weeks in their caravan so it'll be nice to see if them before they go. I'll just potter the rest of the day. Have a good day all.

BlueBalou Fri 29-Apr-22 08:12:19

Good morning everyone, it’s bright but cloudy here in Wiltshire.
A lovely quiet day for me today, I have absolutely nothing planned and can do as I please once the ironing is out of the way.
I will take DDog for a slightly longer walk this morning, she’s still supposed to be taking it easy after her spaying but is behaving like a twit ??
I hope you all have a good day x

ginny Fri 29-Apr-22 08:07:42

Good morning.
Feeling a bit dull , like the weather at the moment. I still can’t put weight on my right foot. At least it doesn’t hurt now whilst I am sitting .

I have a couple of puddings to make today ready for a special birthday party tomorrow. I’ll have to get DH to gather the ingredients and I’ll make them sitting down.

Hope you all find a smile in your day.

dragonfly46 Fri 29-Apr-22 08:04:35

Good morning from rightish Leicestershire. I believe we may have rain on Sunday!

Walking with a friend this pm to enjoy the bluebells.
Met my new neighbours by the other day and they are delightful. They are a great improvement on the previous ones - such a relief.

Pleased to hear you had a better day GrandMattie and hope your day goes as well as it can Pantglas.

Hoping those on their hols have a great time and wishing everyone else the best day possible.

baubles Fri 29-Apr-22 08:01:19

Pantglas I hope today goes well. ?

baubles Fri 29-Apr-22 07:59:53

Good morning all from cool and sunny South Lanarkshire.

I have a hair appointment later, not before time as it’s getting too long. Yesterday I’d put it up in a sort of top knot as I was cleaning. As I was dashing around with the mop I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror. Good grief, Molly Weir was looking straight at me.

youtu.be/et2jtQ2fzHM

Before then I’ve traybakes to make for DGD’s birthday party on Sunday, I’m working tomorrow so it has to be done today. Fifteens have been requested plus either Tiffin or Mars Bar slice.

Safe travels to all those going on holiday or returning home, I’m a little envious of those in sunnier climes.

So glad your DH had a better night Mattie.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

Gingster Fri 29-Apr-22 07:58:26

Good morning all . I woke at 5 then went into a deep sleep til 7 .
Now feeling a bit discombobulated and unsettled , for no particular reason ?. I’m sure it will pass!

I’m dog walking this morning with my old neighbour/friend. We’ll go to the bluebell woods before they start to wither.

We had planned to go to our cottage by the sea next week but the heating engineer hasn’t completed the work so we’ll put it off for another couple of weeks. It’s been a huge job for him! A lovely chap!

Lunch with our Friday pals today. I’m hoping the friend who had a stroke a couple of months ago will come along. She’s progressing well and it would be lovely to see her.

Hope your journey goes well Ash ?.
Lovely to hear your dh had a better day and night GM.
Happy memories Pants.
Safe journey home Marydoll - glad you’ve had a lovely break.
Happy holidays to all
Sar enjoy your time in France, I’m looking forward to hearing all about it when you come back and we’ll have our catchup with GG.

Enjoy the day! ???
.

Susan56 Fri 29-Apr-22 07:56:51

Good morning from chilly Shropshire.

We had a lovely day at our daughters graduation yesterday. Our four year old grandson was a star,he sat through the whole ceremony without a murmur and clapped everybody who went on stage.

Today we are looking after H for the first time in a few weeks as he has been so poorly and then we had the school holidays. He still isn’t 100% so a quiet day at home planned.

Thinking of you today Pantglas?

How lovely for your DH to hear a nightingale Ash.

Have the best day you can everyone??

Chrissielou Fri 29-Apr-22 07:46:54

A grey chilly morning in Oxfordshire, it has been so cold this week. I had put all my winter jumpers away, didn't think I'd need them! Tomorrow's forecast is for a sunny and warmer day, so we will see!
Very happy to have a long weekend, I love a Bank Holiday. I will catch up with DD1 this evening, must fit in some baking before their arrival.
Wishing you all a happy Friday.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Apr-22 07:34:06

Oops sorry Ashcombe safe journey, enjoy your time with your family

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Apr-22 07:33:16

Morning Mick and all

Pantglas I hope the days goes as well as it can, loving memories and tears of joy ?

Enjoy the Portuguese and Spanish sun ladies ?

We have The Imp today, I have to go shopping for flowers and chocolates for my neighbours who will be celebrating Eid this weekend. Since they have moved back we have been the recipients of some beautiful food and cakes. I know we are lucky to have such good neighbours, especially reading some of the nightmare stories on GN

Pleased your DH has turned a corner grandMattie

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

mumofmadboys Fri 29-Apr-22 07:28:47

I love St Monans and the other little places around there especially Crail Marydoll. One of our sons was at St Andrew's uni and we stayed in that area a few times visiting him. Such a lovely coastline.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 29-Apr-22 07:27:17

Morning all from what promises to be a proper (?) April day! I will be up shortly to take my weekly alendronic acid tablet. After breakfast I am off on a WI jaunt which involves decorating either a plate or bowl. The pottery will then fire our things and return them at a later date. I have done this before and it can be good fun. We will then have lunch together. ???to lots of you.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 29-Apr-22 07:24:45

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a lovely Hull morning.

Urmstongran can you send over your rain but only through the night please.
Matt is funny this morning.
grandMattie hope your day is another positive one ?
Pantglas wishing you a day full of memories of your lovely Aunt.
Safe journey Ash and all travellers on the move today.
Just heard my DHs new passport is arriving today so I think we’ll be booking our own trip soon.

Today I’ll do a zoom yoga and having lunch with DD and baby B. Picking DGS up from school after that.
Take care everyone and hope Friday brings you a moment of joy ??
