Boris Becker jailed for two and a half years.

I am surprised that people are surprised!

So sad to see a great career end in such a way. He could have done with some better advice and guidance early on as could so many great sporting stars - thinking George Best, Alex Higgins for example.
I really hope today's stars are well advised.

Many years ago when I was renting the previous tenant (who had gone bankrupt) had the cheek to leave a letter asking me to send on a large cheque she was expecting. While I have sympathy for people who have financial troubles (been there myself once) I was quite angry that I had had a stream of debt collectors at my door looking for her. I was also quite angry with the LL for not warning me and duly sent them all to the LL for "further information".

My solicitor advised me to return the cheque as "gone away" when it arrived. She told me that all incoming moneys had to be declated to the trustee in bankruptcy and it sounded like the previous tenant was trying to conceal assets. Unfortunately there was no address on the cheque for me to return it to. I sent it to the bank with a covering letter and it no doubt eventually found its way back to the person who issued it.

It certainly is followed up silverlining, we just don’t see the cases reported unless it’s someone famous.

It's disappointing, I've always liked his commentary at Wimbledon and of course loved to watch him play all those years ago.

Probably not as he’s no danger to the public. He’s likely to be released earlier than that ‘on tag’. I predict he’ll serve less than a year behind bars.

White collar crime is so rarely followed up because it’s easier to catch the little people.

I don’t know about Katie price and her misdemeanours but Boris Becker had been found guilty of a Crime snd now has to serve his sentence and I absolutely do not feel sorry in any way fir him.
It’s a pity it doesn’t happen more often because he isn’t the only one doing this sort of thing.

Didn't Sunaks wife fold her businesses in London owing millions ,and she took money from the state for furlough etc...will she get sent to jail .

She has said it is her opinion and is not stating it is a fact that all accountants are untrustworthy.
Please let us all feel this is a space where we can air our opinions.

He’s great and he’ll be much missed. Such a character and a fabulous player in his day. Poor Boris. However he won’t be inside for long - nowhere near as long as the sentence - 9 months at most

Shan't miss him at Wimbledon and wherever he is they need to lock all the cupboards.

My guess is that those sentencing Becker didnt think any crimes Katie Price has committed were relevant to his sentence

Price is a criminal. I’m surprised you fail to see the seriousness of her actions which only by sheer luck haven’t resulted in death or serious injury to others. As for her issues, she uses whatever “issues” she has to her advantage.

Well seeing as she’s supposedly bankrupt herself but still manages to live a luxury lifestyle I’d say yes, there is a comparison.

As for her petty crimes she has been caught drink driving several times, driving whilst banned and doing so whilst under the influence of drugs whilst hunting for more drugs. She’s had more than one accident whilst drunk. She’s a danger to others, criminally so and Boris isn’t.

Has she been found guilty of major fraud?

Having seen the full list of her crimes I agree withFleur20 that some of them are serious enough to warrant a jail sentence- they are in a different league of crime to major fraud though. She has been declared bankrupt, but I can’t imagine she has the nous to hide money from the authorities. She’s a woman with massive issues which don’t excuse her behaviour or stupid actions which endanger herself and others. He’s a criminal.

Too many celebrities get away with too much. I’m not bothered that Becker has been found guilty and sentenced accordingly. Katie Price continually seems to be let off far too lightly. If that was you or me we’d be well fined or even imprisoned for continually flouting the rules on driving. What’s the point in having regulations unless everyone is treated equally?
