Is there a comparison? I don’t think Katie Price’s petty crimes are in the same league as fraud on this scale are they

Well seeing as she’s supposedly bankrupt herself but still manages to live a luxury lifestyle I’d say yes, there is a comparison.

As for her petty crimes she has been caught drink driving several times, driving whilst banned and doing so whilst under the influence of drugs whilst hunting for more drugs. She’s had more than one accident whilst drunk. She’s a danger to others, criminally so and Boris isn’t.

That`s my opinion varian.
I can`t remember stating that All accountants are the same.

You said accounts plural. A very silly statement, Accountants are no worse than any other proffesion.

Casdon... can I draw your attention to Katie Price's 'petty crimes'?

Katie has her first escape in 2003 when she was allegedly caught doing 70mph in a 40mph zone. However, she evaded punishment on a technicality
In 2008 however, another offence was committed and this time she did face the punishment of the law.
She was convicted of driving whilst using a mobile phone and received three penalty points on her license and a £200 fine.
2010 was another controversial year for Price as firstly she was convicted of speeding after magistrates rejected the claim that she was being hounded by paparazzi - she received four penalty points and a £250 fine.
Then in September of that year, she was convicted for failing to be in proper control of her vehicle after her £300,000 pink horse box veered into another lane on February 19, for which she received a £1,000 fine and three penalty points.
Then in December 2010, she was banned from driving for six-months after being caught speeding in Pyecombe the previous year.
She was given a £1000 fine and three points on her license, taking her over the 12-point limit bringing about the automatic six month ban.
In 2012, Katie was told she could not drive for 12 months due to failing to respond to two speeding tickets, once again taking her up to 12 points on her license.
Jump forward three years to 2015 and Price was convicted for failing to stop at a red light whilst driving her Bentley - she was given three points on her license and a £700 along with court costs.
In February 2018, Katie was handed another ban - this time for six months, and a £750 fine, for doing 60 mph in a 50 mph zone in West Sussex in 2017.
Then in the summer of 2018 Price handed herself into police for driving whilst disqualified.
In August 2018 Price was found asleep in the backseat of her pink 4x4 after it had crashed into another car before careering into a hedge.
She was arrested and breath tested and spent a night at Plumstead police station before being released under investigation.
Charges of drink driving were dropped due to a lack of evidence.
In October 2019 however, she was convicted of failing to provide details of the driver of the vehicle, and was handed a two-year driving ban later reduced to 18 months.

ANY one of these could have resulted in a fatality... no thanks to Katie they didnt...
I dont consider these... ANY of these to be petty.

I’m sad and no matter what he’s done I will miss him commentating at Wimbledon. I’ve always liked him since his first won Wimbledon at 17.

timetogo is entitled to her opinion.
She has said it is her opinion and is not stating it is a fact that all accountants are untrustworthy.
Please let us all feel this is a space where we can air our opinions.
It is not the news channel.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 29-Apr-22 18:34:47

That really is an outrageous and uninformed slur on accountants timetogo, I presume based on no personal experience whatsoever. On behalf of the accountant I know to be one of our number on GN and my accountant friends I take great exception to what you say.

How is anyone shocked by this? Its fairly consistent with his general behaviour.

I agree.

Yet Katie Price gets let off repeatedly. I feel sorry for Boris and it just shows there’s no real justice.

Boris Becker is an intelligent man, and knew what he was doing, he hid millions of pounds to avoid paying his debtors, so he deserves the jail sentence.

I agree with Grandma70s.
Accountants are glorified fiddlers in reality.

That is an outrageous unsubstantiated statement timetogo

Professional accountants are highly qualified and governed by strict ethical and professoional standards

It is very, very sad. Surely his accountant should be considered guilty as well?

JenniferEccles Fri 29-Apr-22 18:00:31

It does seem harsh considering how many other criminals get off with little more than a slapped wrist but I believe it wasn’t his first offence, plus as the judge said he showed no regret or remorse.

I can clearly remember that year at Wimbledon, watching this young 17 year old winning match after match until, astonishingly he reached the final.

I sat glued to that match along with millions of other tennis fans.

MerylStreep Fri 29-Apr-22 17:57:09

he has just been unlucky being caught No, he just employed the wrong accountants ?

Allsorts Fri 29-Apr-22 17:55:46

Good. Trust they will seize his assets. Those they can find anyway. I liked Boris, but he behaved shamefully, so deserves what he’s got, not long anyway.

foxie48 Fri 29-Apr-22 17:43:27

He'd been convicted of a huge tax evasion fraud in Germany so I'm afraid it's not his first conviction. So sad, I remember being spellbound by him winning Wimbledon at 17. he was so exciting to watch.

Lucca Fri 29-Apr-22 17:36:07

There had been talk of up to seven years

Ailidh Fri 29-Apr-22 17:34:17

I have sympathy for many who go bankrupt but none at all for anyone who deliberately tries to hide their assets.

glammanana Fri 29-Apr-22 17:32:23

So shocked at this I expected him to get a large fine at the least.

fairfraise Fri 29-Apr-22 17:30:56

It is a shock but he has not been honest. He could possibly coach tennis and give German lessons etc in prison. I think they have made an example of him, but there are many other people who go unpunished for suchlike.
I've liked him ever since he was seventeen!

TillyTrotter Fri 29-Apr-22 17:26:29

This is a shock - who is advising Boris on his finances?
I shall miss him commentating at Wimbledon as he is one of my favourites. Always comes across as such a nice bloke but apparently a deceitful one.
Or do all highly paid folks do this and he has just been unlucky being caught?
