Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and dry with a cloudless sky over brackley at the moment.
Todays plan being the day it is , to get the bus to Buckingham first before going onto Bicester , I will decide ether to return direct or go back via Buckingham.
See how things go.
Take care,
Mick

Good morning from a sunny but frosty Oxfordshire.

Yesterday was another dull day until 4pm when the sun came out, so I quickly cut the lawn, high level, so I could leave the daisies and violets for the bees.

Bed changing today and that’s it, I made cakes yesterday so apart from cooking a chicken I’m done!

Have a good day everyone, hope those looking after sick family manage to get some rest.

Good morning from a bright N. Bucks.
I’m still limping but my foot is a little less painful this morning.
We’ll done to your DGD Ash

Today is a special celebration for us. After all the worries and complications before the birth of our youngest DGS, he is 1 year old today. A gorgeous, happy healthy little boy. Party this afternoon.

Hope GM has a better day. Thoughts with all who are poorly or troubled.
Safe journeys and happy holidays for all the travellers.

Good morning from Cheshire.
Beautiful morning.
Big family gathering here this afternoon and evening as Easter get together cancelled because of Covid. Going to be a busy day but food long prepared and in freezer.
Happy Bank Holiday weekend

Marydoll Sat 30-Apr-22 07:57:31

Oops, wrong one. I thought that was a picture of a Ukrainian flag, I spotted on a rock. The flash of white and failing eyesight fooled me!

Sar53 Sat 30-Apr-22 07:54:17

Ash congratulations to your DGD, a wonderful achievement.
One of my 13 year old granddaughters is an associate member of BTUK, a ballet school in the Midlands, it sounds like the same kind of thing.
A very proud moment for you ??x

harrigran Sat 30-Apr-22 07:52:45

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was a sunny, warm day so I spent some time in the garden tidying up and then sprayed the paths with weedkiller as the dandelions grow faster than anything else.
Sister is still testing positive for covid, eleven days now so I guess she won't be visiting.
DS and family are coming this afternoon, probably be able to sit outside today as well.
My elder sister is off to Portugal for a river cruise tomorrow but she lives in Germany and the travel requirements are not as lax as from the UK. Her cruise has been rescheduled several times and she says she doesn't want to let her friend down but has lost her enthusiasm for travelling now.
Have a good Bank Holiday weekend.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its only 3°C, with rain predicted. Thank goodness we did the washing when we came home yesterday, it dried in hours..

Its good to hear your husband is a bit more settled, GM. It's not only men, who are stubborn. I remember getting a lecture from a pain management consultant, who told me very sharply, I was wrong, trying to be brave and ^ working through^ the pain. It was actually putting my body through more stress. Patches deliver the pain in measured doses, so don't wear off like tablets. My patches allowed me to keep working, dampened down the pain to a bearable level and usually still do.
I hope you can convince your DH. GM.

Yesterday, after much discussion, DH and I did visit St Andrew's on the way home from holiday. The compromise for me getting, was a Gregg's sausage roll instead of the fancy lunch we had planned, a wander beforehand and then straight home.
I did manage to cram in more retail therapy into those couple of hours, than the whole holiday. ?
St Andrew's was very quiet, apart from the Americans. They were in the golf shops, spending a fortune, not quite as much as DH!
It is so good to see tourism picking up again. Sadly many shops in St Andrew's had closed. Kalu, I couldn't find Moshulu, I think it may have closed, but I did make it to Pretty Little Things. . ☹
We were in bed by 8pm (unknown), my chest is still really wheezy, but I am reluctant to break into the rescue pack of steroids, I already have enough chemicals in my body.

How lovely to hear of those going abroad on holiday, Portugal seems to be a favourite on here. Carcassonne was another place on my bucket list. ☹
I wish you all a safe and pleasant journey. If those on holiday, enjoy it, as much as much as we did, you will be doing ok!

For those with mountains to climb and sorrows to bear, have a gentle and peaceful day. That is what I will be doing, I cannot raise enough energy to do a much needed supermarket shop, so we will make do.
Have a good Saturday, everyone,

PS, for some reason, my photos won't post. ☹

Urmstongran Sat 30-Apr-22 07:47:51

Such a talented granddaughter Ashcombe you are quite rightly proud of her achievements! Happy holidays Sar53 and monk08 I hope our both have a wonderful time. Looking forward to some photos Sar53! A friend of ours has a place in Carcassone it’s such a beautiful area.

A wonderful bright sunny morning in Oxfordshire, chilly but hopefully it will get warmer. Off to pick up click/collect then we are off out for the day dog walking, we will take sandwiches and a flask, we will walk about 8miles along the Ridgeway.
Happy Saturday to you all. grandMattie I hope you have a restful day.

ShazzaKanazza Sat 30-Apr-22 07:42:55

Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright Hull morning. DH had the hose on the garden as well last night.

grandMattie ? hoping you can get a nap today and your DH has a more settled night.

Ashcombe many congratulations for your GD. What a star ?

Safe travels Sar and monk and everyone on the move this weekend.

No real plans today. We have DS and his new lady friend over so they’ll have some breakfast and then get on with their day.
We do need to get a larger pot for our indoor tree so need to go to B&Q. There will be a lot of pottering in the garden today I expect.

Take care everyone and hope Saturday brings a moment of joy??

Urmstongran Sat 30-Apr-22 07:34:12

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have 25°C forecast today and 27°C tomorrow! ?

We did a lot of walking yesterday it was such a glorious day - up into Arroyo de la Miel for coffees in the sunshine, down Avd. de las Palmeras, back along the paseo for a chilled white Rioja and tapas. Further along and onto La Carihuela where we bought the best ice cream. I chose a small tub of raspberry - norty really on a low carb diet but one in 3 weeks won’t be too bad I decided - I’m on holiday!

I slept like the proverbial and today can be a reading in the garden day, under the shade of a palm tree. Beach tomorrow I think as it’s Labour Day we can join the workers at the seaside. The tiny green parakeets are noisy this morning I think they are so cute. They fly in arrow formations giving the Red Devil’s a run for their money. ? I love watching (and listening) to them!

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Gingster Sat 30-Apr-22 07:33:29

Good morning all and it’s a beautiful morning.☀️.

I gave in and put the heating on yesterday evening. Soooo cold!

I had a lovely walk in the bluebell woods with my old pal yesterday and spent another hour with her having coffee. We discussed having a couple of days out with the U3A .
Then on to lunch at our usual country pub with other old pals, sitting around the log fire. Simple pleasures!

Sar and Monk - happy holidays to you both. Safe journey with no hold ups ??.

Lovely pic of your GD ash . Proud indeed ❤️.

GM I hope your day is trouble-free ?.

Not much on for us today. Weekly papers and croissants for brekkie! We might pop to a nursery for bedding plants. Is it still a bit too early? ?.

Wishing you all a pleasant day, ???

Ashcombe Sat 30-Apr-22 07:24:46

Sorry….. Just noticed I inadvertently typed DD instead of DGD, but you all know I’m too old to have a nine year old DD! ?

brook2704 Sat 30-Apr-22 07:14:00

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where the sun is up and it looks like a good day is forecast
Have a wonderful holiday Sar53 how exciting to be going for a whole month. And you too monk have a great time away ?
I’m not sure what we’re doing yet today, both DGSs have swimming lessons this morning but afterwards we’ll probably be going out somewhere. I’m looking after them this evening whilst DD1 and Sil are out for a well deserved break
A lovely photo Ash a big well done to your very talented DGD
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

BlueBalou Sat 30-Apr-22 07:10:23

Good morning everyone, a lovely sunny start here.
Have lovely holidays travellers, I hope you get plenty of sunshine ?
An early walk with DDog, who’s still on restricted activity and is getting increasingly frustrated, then a bit of gardening I think. Everything is so dry I will need to keep watering every evening.
Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Ashcombe Sat 30-Apr-22 07:01:14

Likewise to monk08 travelling to Portugal. Happy landings! ☀️??

Ashcombe Sat 30-Apr-22 06:59:12

Bon voyage, Sar53 and I hope France delivers what you seek. ???????☀️

monk08 Sat 30-Apr-22 06:50:06

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country, frost overnight but a lovely sunny start to the day. Bedding to wash and a quick tidy round can then get into holiday mode. Portugal here I come.
We had our council tax rebate last week Beechnut they took the council tax out 2 days later so a quick in and out.
Shall not be posting while away I don't take my tablet with me and my phone is very basic I'm rather a Luddite.
Full English calling will catch up later.
Have the best week possible and may you all find some ?.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 30-Apr-22 06:46:19

Morning all from a frozen, yes a frozen West Oxfordshire. We put our oleander outside the other day. Hope it’s survived! I am driving OH and I to Kew this morning. Our granddaughter’s 6th birthday is in a couple of days so we are taking her presents and having tea. ??? to quite a few of you who are suffering in all sorts of ways.

Sar53 Sat 30-Apr-22 06:41:47

Good morning from a very chilly Essex by the sea.
Well today is the day. We are off to Dover later to stay in a hotel tonight and a very early sailing to France tomorrow.
We are driving to just outside Carcassonne to a beautiful gite owned by the father of a friend.
We will be away for a month, never had a holiday that long before, and are hoping for some sunny days. This holiday has been postponed so many times that I can't believe that we are finally going.
Hopefully I will send some pictures of our adventures.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend everyone with some warmth and ?.
Love to all xx

Ashcombe Sat 30-Apr-22 06:38:54

Good morning all from a sunny Crewe!

It feels warmer here than it has been in Torbay lately, where the NE wind has lowered temperatures for us, too, grandMattie. These stubborn men, gM, are everywhere! DH was just the same last summer with managing his back pain. I hope poor Mr.gM will listen and you have some rest - please take care of yourself, too.

My journey here went well yesterday and I was relieved to have successfully navigated my way round a busy Birmingham New St. Station where I had to change trains. My lovely SiL met me from the train as he, or his DF, always do, which spares me the company of the miserable taxi drivers hereabouts, compared with our unfailingly pleasant ones in Torbay. Must be the mellowing effect of the sea air!!

One proud grandma here as my nine year old DD continues to shine at dance, especially ballet. The photo celebrates her latest achievement.

Please find your own moments of joy today. ??????

Beechnut Sat 30-Apr-22 06:35:02

You’re grrr

Beechnut Sat 30-Apr-22 06:34:05

Good Morning from sunny Severnside.
Your right Mattie, it was very cold yesterday. I put the heating on in the afternoon and then got a bit stuffy. Can’t win !
I hope you get a nap in today.

I have to go and get my prescription. Hopefully that is. I’ve a few jobs I can get on with over the weekend. The first is to mend my wind chime now I’ve realised I have some cord already here.

I see my council tax energy rebate has dropped into my bank account overnight.

Have a good day all and safe travels if you’re out and about ??

cornergran Sat 30-Apr-22 06:30:41

Morning Mick, morning All. A bright start to our corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed our wander out yesterday, today with luck we’ll finish tidying the garden then perhaps another wander, see how warm it is and if we’ve energy to spare. The antibiotics aren’t sitting comfortably with me, seem to be improving matters so must stick with them.

Enjoy your trip out mick Hope you both have a good enough day grandmattie and Saturday is kind to us all.

grandMattie Sat 30-Apr-22 05:58:44

Good morning from an overcast, chilly E Kent. It was cold yesterday, barely reaching 10 C , and chillier in the vicious NE wind. The heating was on most of the day!
DH had an ok day, still very dozy, partly from the bad nights, but if he sleeps all day, he won’t sleep much at nigh!
The boss man came to visit and was very helpful, pain wise. He recommended doubling the morphine patches and if that doesn’t dampen down the pain, there are stronger analgesics available. The trouble is that DH thinks it’s heroic not to take painkiller, silly man!
Quiet day today; I hope I manage a nap. Disturbed nights and lack of sleep do nothing for me.
Hope today brings something to gladden your hearts. Carpe diem/horam. ???❤️☀️?
