Hello!smile

I really fancy a natter; but, unfortunately I find myself totally bereft of humorous or interesting Thread Starters.

I’ve gone blank.
No creativity whatsoever.
Not an ounce of wit.
Not a smidgen of originality.

Talk to me - please! smile

(I’m going to make a cup of tea, and when I return I hope that someone is here brew)

(Autocorrect turned smidgen into ^smug Ron^; poor old Ron, and his wife)

H1954 agony aunts were the best.
My friend Debbie’s parents bought The Sun, and we used to love reading Dear Deirdre.
And the photo re-enactments!
The Sun was jam packed with smut back in the day.
Oh no, it seems that I keep inadvertently going down the wrong track…

Good afternoon GNetters! I've had a couple of hours in the garden so I'm playing catch up now. I completely understand FC's appeal and actually, a subject matter did cur to me recently.
Back in the day, before social media and all that stuff Agony Aunts were the go to place for help and advice. Who remembers them?, who used them?, did you read the columns in the newspapers?

aggie Sun 01-May-22 12:37:39

It’s pouring rain here , I’ve stuff to put in bin ! Where’s my raincoat ?

FannyCornforth Sun 01-May-22 12:35:48

I know!
I’ve been so tempted to Google ‘tractor porn’ blush

FannyCornforth Sun 01-May-22 12:34:40

I’ve eaten three Foxes Triples.
When Mr Fox named them I don’t think that he intended that you eat them in threes.
They are delicious.

Doodle

Huh, might have known someone else would beat me to it.
Zoejory your post mentioning tractors is very topical in the press this morning.
CrazyH sorry about your ear. Is it painful?

My GS is mad on tractors and I have been browsing the internet but have only found tractors ?
It is his third birthday soon.

FannyCornforth Sun 01-May-22 12:32:18

Sorry about your ear H.
Perhaps you could talk to it?

FannyCornforth Sun 01-May-22 12:30:16

DH is not feeling too good, so is still in bed.
I got him a different lamp for his bedside table as he was complaining that he can’t read the paper in bed.
I also fetched said paper (The MoS ?) for him.
Fed cat.
Opened back door.
Put stuff in the drier.
Stared out of the back door for a bit.
Next door’s cat stared back (he is picking on our dog; but she’s only got herself to blame)

If Prince Charles can talk to his plants I think there is nothing wrong with you talking to a packet of seeds Feelingmyage.
Get them young is what I say. A few words of encouragement at a young age can make all the difference.
What sort of seeds are they, just out of interest?

TillyTrotter Sun 01-May-22 12:26:57

How very rude of me - Good Morning Fanny ,
and I believe in menthol inhalations too Honeysuckle .
Clears noses and throats - why not ears? They are all connected.

FannyCornforth Sun 01-May-22 12:26:24

Hello! I’m back!
I took much longer than planned.
I will now update you on my doings

crazyH Sun 01-May-22 12:25:59

Hsb - thankyou - that’s on my list of d.i.y. treatments .

TillyTrotter Sun 01-May-22 12:25:19

I’ve thrown caution to the wind and sown sunflower seeds this week.
I put them outside in the day, and brought them in onto a windowsill about 6 pm.
They are doing very well and I am talking to them saying “please grow to 7 feet tall like last year’s did”.
So don’t feel bad about taking to a packet of seeds Feeling .

Honeysuckleberries Sun 01-May-22 12:20:37

Crazy, you need steam inhalations. Head over bowl, towel over head. Don’t burn yourself.

Feelingmyage55 Sun 01-May-22 12:18:58

Actually I’m having a conversation with you lot am I not?

Feelingmyage55 Sun 01-May-22 12:18:08

I’ve no one to talk to today but might start a conversation with a packet of seeds. Is it too soon to sow them in the north of Scotland? Would they prefer the greenhouse or the dining room windowsill? I’m going to have a Sunday pastry in the sun. I’ll be back.

crazyH Sun 01-May-22 12:16:42

Doodle yes, tried that. If it doesn’t sort it itself out, I will make an appointment to see GP - thanks ..

Doodle Sun 01-May-22 12:12:52

Hmmm……foot tapping here……where are you Fanny ……
Have you got involved in something else ?

Doodle Sun 01-May-22 12:11:17

CrazyH my DH has suffered with this before and I have once. It’s oddly unnerving not being able to hear properly.
Have you tried holding your nose and swallowing like the trick you do on planes when the pressure builds up.
If it’s still bad after the weekend I’d se GP again if I were you or visit the chemist.

crazyH Sun 01-May-22 12:08:55

Doodle - not continuously painful, but the occasional twinge,
But I feel ‘clogged’….I’m walking around the house yawning ?- they say it helps to unblock.

Doodle Sun 01-May-22 12:05:30

You’re leaving that tea brewing a long time Fanny. Are you sure you haven’t popped to the loo in the meantime or rummaged the biscuit barrel?

Doodle Sun 01-May-22 12:04:20
