Yes Martini! That advert was aspirational - albeit shallow but I loved what the lifestyle represented to someone like me! Ok, I never ended up owning a yacht but did many of the sports in the adverts over the years and loved them all :-) I like Negronis now so blame that advert from many years ago!

The ad with Joan Collins on the plane spilling her drink over Leonard Rossiter was very memorable - but was it really a good ad?

I can never remember whether it was for Martini or Campari or maybe some other drink.

Varian in the case of that ad it didn’t matter to me as Campari, Martini, Cinzano and that other mystery drink Dubonnet were all of a kind to me -ie the kind I wouldn’t have touched with a bargepole.

But they were entertaining.
And I’m sure it was Joan who got drenched with the Cinzano when the reclining plane seat suddenly shot back… “ getting your head back sweetly?”
