Good to read all your news and catch up. Been away a week and couldnt make my laptop work properly, so trying to sort out washing and mail and emails etc . Not had a go at Wordle but sounds as though it might be worth looking at. Takes a while to get sorted out doesnt it? Been a lovely morning but greying over and looks might be a shower coming.Hope to feel a bit more organised tomorrow

An extremely late good ‘morning’ from the Sefton coast.
I’m now up to speed with all your posts from the last two days. Loving DGSs’ bedroom Grandmabatty.
Meeting up with friends this afternoon then going for a swim.
Have the best day possible everyone.

A bright Good Morning all , been to vote ! It was drummed into me by my Grandparents to use my vote , we have proportional representation here , but I still doubt that my vote does any good ?
Home now with the patio doors open and the washing machine on , have to do a wash before I run out of unmentionables !

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 13°C.

Mr. B took me for a potter around a few local shops yesterday, a rare treat! I used to be able to walk to them and carry a bagful of shopping home but that isn’t possible anymore. My step counter showed I had done 1,000 steps in each shop and I was very tired when we got home. Today’s only plan is to go and vote. I used to have a postal vote when I was working and traveling as I was often out of the country. I don’t need one now as the polling station is opposite our house. I can see it from my window.

Hope you have a gentle day Cornergran.

Glad yesterday went well for you Grandmattie, enjoy your delayed massage.

Love the Gpigs and their smart new house Scentia.

Hope your DD is soon better GrannyGravy and today is a better one.

I’m glad you were able to get your hair done ready for the weekend Hollysteers but what a disappointment that lunch was. I hate the habit of serving food on anything but plates!

A warm welcome to any new members I have missed recently.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times.

Wishing everyone the best day possible with a ?or two along the way.

So sorry to hear your DD is not improving GG. I do hope she feels better soon. It happened to my DD in St Lucia and needed a trip to the doctor there. It is very scarey!

joyce6135 Thu 05-May-22 10:33:45

Botheration, just flashed up on my iPad that Murray has pulled out of the match due to illness. Weeding it is then!

Pepper59 Thu 05-May-22 10:32:54

Hello, hope everyone has a good day. The Gransnetters who are ill, hope you feel a bit better. Im away to the library and then shopping. Take care all.

joyce6135 Thu 05-May-22 10:29:54

Good morning from a sunny East Northants, after a wet day yesterday. I went to see Downton Abbey: A new era yesterday and enjoyed it, but didn’t think it was as good as the previous one, just my opinion. Today I’m going to watch Djokovic play Murray, starts at 11am, then may do a bit of weeding if this weather keeps up. Visiting a friend this afternoon, then Spag Bol for dinner. Just going back to read all your posts now, have the best day you can everyone.

Good Morning from bright and warm HARROGATE
Your little Memorial service sounds perfect GrandMattie now enjoy your massage!
Thank you Ashcombe for showing us where Sars is. Indeed it looks beautiful. Sorry our DD is going through such a rough time GrannyGravy
Our cherry tree at the front of our house is slowly going over - pity it's such a lovely tree.
Our sainsburies delivery has just been and I am soon off into town to do a bit of shopping and also to go to the dentist. Seeing the doctor yesterday was very helpful, she's a lady who likes to do her best for her patients (not many of those around)
Have the best day possible folks.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

BlueSapphire Thu 05-May-22 09:36:53

My goodness, I have slept till 9 o'clock, which is so unusual for me! Must get my skates on, as Sainsbury's are delivering between 10 and 11.

A very good morning from sunny Northampton, certainly nicer than yesterday's miserable weather - we had a terrific rainstorm in the afternoon, much needed for the gardens though.

Need to be on my toes - literally - today, as I am going to give tap dancing a try! Our ballet teacher is starting a tap class due to popular demand, so some of us are going to give it a go. So, half an hour of tap, followed by 45 minutes of ballet.

Then tonight it's our health walk, then a meal at the pub.

Hope Thursday is kind to all.

I was a bit sad yesterday GG13 walking around the two towns. There were so many cafes and bars shuttered up for sale or rent and with a general air of neglect by the Council with weeds springing up all around the shopping areas and a general air of shabbiness. That said, it wasn’t sunny and the lovely fern like leaves on the trees haven’t appeared yet, so that probably contributed to the perceived drabness.
?

There are still not many tourists. Some cafe bars and restaurants only open on certain days or for limited hours. The prices n the supermarkets have shot up and not just by a few cents. Tough financial times must lie ahead for here - the same as in the UK.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 05-May-22 09:08:49

Only me, back again.

DD emerged from her old bedroom more puffy and swollen that’s when she went to bed, both eyes are now barely able to open, so they will be here until at least tomorrow.

Urmstongran my baby sister when to school in Los Boliches, and we still have close links there. It is unrecognisable from when we moved our family home there 48 years ago, it still seems like yesterday though.

hollysteers Thu 05-May-22 09:03:19

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. It’s going to be lovely weather I believe, glad as I’m going away for the weekend.
Had Ye Olde roots touched up, trim and blow dry, then popped in with chocolates to see 93 year old mother of a friend. Thought I would treat myself after that to lunch in local garden centre (one of god’s waiting rooms). How to feel invisible, very poor service. Ignored at counter, although no one around, then they forgot my order I and had to go and enquire after waiting so long. Plus it came on a narrow wooden platter and couldn’t be contained on it, stupid thing, bits of pastry all over the place.
Have enjoyed writing an unfavourable review for trip advisor.
However bought lovely red geraniums for my window boxes, so cheerful.
Hope you have a good day.

Grandmabatty Thu 05-May-22 08:55:11

Good morning all from Polmont. Grey and damp again. The rain isn't on at the moment but doesn't look far away. Seems a few of you had a bad night. I did too! I'm not sure what I'll do today. I might go to the local garden centre for plants and compost etc or I might clean the kitchen cupboards. I have no fixed plans. I'll vote at some point too. Have a good day all.

Taichinan Thu 05-May-22 08:54:32

Just a quickie from the grey Angus coast today as I'm off to my tai chi classes soon. Glad you enjoy Wordle Mick. So glad your DH was able to join in with your remembrance of Philip, grandmattie, and took pleasure in your DD's visit. Enjoy your massage today. When I get home from tai chi I must hang out my washing - there's a lot of rain around this morning, but this afternoon is forecast to be sunny. Fingers crossed. The garden's enjoying it! Have a good day everyone x

Urmstongran Thu 05-May-22 08:51:20

Here’s Matt.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s a gorgeous start to the day (and for the duration of our stay apparently) with highs of 26°C forecast today. I slept in as I took ages getting off to sleep last night for some reason. (A perk of retirement).

Yesterday we got off the Renfe train at Los Boliches and strolled up to Fuengirola. I needed to go to Dunne’s to buy new pillows and sheets. We got the train back home and got drenched in the rain walking back to the apartment! We watched City get beat by Real Madrid in the bar downstairs. I thought the Spanish were going to take the roof off with their cheers!

Today we plan a more restful day in the sun before meeting friends for cocktails and dinner on the marina.

Enjoy Thursday all who can. x

GrannySomerset Thu 05-May-22 08:50:38

Booster jab at the surgery this morning and a session with financial adviser later and I look forward to neither experience whilst recognising that both are necessary.

Am feeling somewhat dismal after so much excitement but that will pass and is partly due to post covid lethargy. So pleased gM had such support yesterday on a difficult day. These anniversaries are hard.

harrigran Thu 05-May-22 08:46:49

Good morning from a dry and mild NE.
SIL fixed the outside tap for me yesterday, I had taken the frost protection off but it was too tight for me to turn, a squirt of WD40 and we were good to go.
While he had his tools handy he also fixed the guest bathroom tap which had worked loose in it's housing.
We did a Sainsbury's shop and did it with one of those scanner thingies so we only had to pack the bags once, SIL is not fit for weight lifting yet.
Today I have the day to myself but am expecting a delivery at lunchtime so will just potter around.
Anniversary of my dad's death today, 37 years and I still miss him.
Hope those with troubles have a better day.

Georgesgran Thu 05-May-22 08:45:48

Good morning from Durham - it’s warm but overcast, just like yesterday.
Dental appointment went ok, but my practice is so busy that they aren’t booking checkups. I’ve to ring in September to see if I can get one in November. Called at B&M on my way home for a new watering can - none suitable, but still managed to spend over £100 - won’t be going back there in a hurry!
Taking DD2’s dogs to the groomer today, then after that picking up DGS1 from Pre-School. Will probably take him for a Happy Meal. He’s very picky, but this seems to be something he likes - my weekly treat with him.
Good to hear some GNs are feeling a bit more upbeat today. Sending best wishes to those others.

NannyJan53 Thu 05-May-22 08:42:23

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

Still positive here, so confined to barracks. Mr J has been positive for 10 days now! So based on that I still have a few days stuck in. At least I have plenty of books to read.

It is the 10 years anniversary of when we first met. That has flown by! I was only 58 then smile Will go out and celebrate when both Covid free.

Wishing you all a lovely day

merlotgran Thu 05-May-22 08:20:54

Good morning everyone from a sunny south coast where I’m lazing in bed with my second cuppa! I must make an early start in the garden today though because I returned home from Morrisons yesterday with a boot load of plants…. I only popped in for a small top up shop!! There’s no hope for me as I cannot resist a bargain!

Glad everything went well yesterday, grandMattie. Enjoy your massage. I’ve never had one but I can imagine how re-energising it must be.

Hope you all have a good and trouble free day.

dragonfly46 Thu 05-May-22 08:05:18

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Planted out my sweet peas yesterday and tidied the garage somewhat.
Tai Chi this morning.

Hoping all those poorly DDs feel better today and wishing every one a pleasant one.

Gingster Thu 05-May-22 08:04:16

Good morning all and yes it’s a bright morning. Yesterday afternoon we had a lot of rain which is desperately needed.
Dh went fishing and had a beautiful morning but came home earlier than usual as the rain started.

I started U3A choir last evening which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Dh is meeting his two old school friends for breakfast so one of their wives is coming to me for a coffee. I made scones yesterday for her visit but they didn’t turn out very well. I had one after choir and have had a stomache upset since! ?. They now reside in the bin ?.

GM I’m glad your day went well, albeit a sad one. These anniversaries in the first year are hard to get through. ?.

Sar the area you’re staying in is beautiful. Thanks Ash for the link.

GG hope your Dd recovers soon and the little family are back in their own abode ?.

Chrissie hope your brave DD is feeling better now. ?.
My DD has another biopsy next week. She’s been fine with her two immunotherapy infusions so far. TG!

Mick - I love doing Wordle and we share our results each day on the family WhatsApp. I did it in 1 once (of course a fluke) and 2 twice. Sometimes you have to think for a while before ….. BINGO ! Actually I might try that word today! ?.

Wishing you all a pleasant day ???

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A good day for a walk. I must remember to cast my vote(s) . We have PR in Scotland so there are numbers rather than crosses.
Enjoy the massage gMattie
