Another good morning from S Lanarkshire where we are promised a dry day.

I hope you have a very enjoyable overnight trip Mick, a change is always nice.

Enjoy your first communion celebration baubles, I can hardly believe it’s that time of the year again! My DGD who lives near you has been away for three day residential activity trip with her school this week and I am looking forward to hearing how it went, an only child, it was quite an adventure for her. I will be surprised if she didn’t love it!

Your tree planting and blessing ceremony sounded lovely Ashcombe, I am sure it lifted your spirit.

All the Spanish adventures sound great and are adding to my anticipation of a holiday in Majorca in a few weeks time with one of my daughters and family. I can’t quite believe I’m going abroad again, I had really written that possibility off but am glad for once that my children are ‘taking charge’!

I cope things improve for your DH and therefore you too grandMattie and that you feel better soon Marydoll, you’ve had a struggle recently.

Wishing everyone the best weekend possible ???

dragonfly46 Sat 07-May-22 08:34:57

Good to hear from you kitty. So sorry to hear about your friend Nankate.

NanKate Sat 07-May-22 08:19:28

Morning Mick and All.

grandMattie what can I say about the breakdown inNHS communications. You should have been told the results weren’t through. So sorry for you both having made all that effort to get there for nothing.

Hope you are alright Kitty life and family can throw up so many problems.

My close friend died on Monday and I am already missing her greatly. Feeling sad.

kittylester Sat 07-May-22 08:08:02

Morning all from, as dragonfly says, a sunny and warm North Leicestershire.

I have been reading all your news but posting has defeated me. Lots going on here but tjings have calmed down a bit now.

Sending love and warm but gentle hugs to all who need them.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-May-22 08:01:40

Morning Mick and all

Enjoy Llandudno Mick it’s very pretty, I hope your mystery stop over doesn’t disappoint.

grandMattie how frustrating for you both, and totally unnecessary, your poor DH I hope the pain meds can be sorted.

We have the house to ourselves, DD went home yesterday afternoon, still swollen but not as uncomfortable and constantly itching.

I might just have to climb the ironing mountain as my lady is away.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester where the temperature has dropped a bit. Yesterday was summer and I was in a stock room. Today we are going to a friend's barbecue and it's back to typical British weather.
Love to all ? x

ShazzaKanazza Sat 07-May-22 07:48:27

Good morning Mick and everyone from a lovely bright Hull morning. We had some much welcomed heavy rain last night.

Thoughts and ?as always to grandMattie and your DH.

Mick have a lovely trip to Llandudno.

It’s lovely hearing about all your holidays and days out.
Matt had me giggling again Urmstongran.

Ash it’s good to hear your sad day turned positive with the tree planting. It’s hard to be sad when there are children around.
Enjoy all your meet ups with friends and family today.

I have my sister staying so a busy weekend.

Take care everyone and hope Saturday brings a moment to smile. ??

Grandmabatty Sat 07-May-22 07:39:38

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9°, grey skies and very calm. There's been some breezy stuff about the last week and I had to tether my mini greenhouse to a fence to stop my tomato plants flying off. Grandmattie so frustrating for you and your husband. Sar I'm still jealous! Sounds like you are having a lovely time. Brook you'll be busy with two GC staying over! Dgs1 is going to be staying over next Saturday to try out his new bed.
Yesterday I pottered about then got a message from dd asking if I could look after dgs2 for fifteen minutes while she picked up dgs1 from nursery. Normally she takes the baby with her, but there was a man fixing her very expensive front door (for the third time). I was off like a shot. He's such a sunny, smiley baby now. I ended up staying for a while. When I went home, sil popped in on his way home from work to put stuff in my loft for me. I haven't looked in the loft since I moved in and I was anxious about what was up there. Fortunately there appears to be just insulation.
Today I'll have to do a food shop. Then I'll do the Saturday housework. Chicken for dinner. Have a good day all

Marydoll Sat 07-May-22 07:38:45

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its 9°C..

Enjoy your trips Mick and Pants. DH and I were talking to the plumber about Cordoba, his friend, was a rock star in a well known group, now lives there! We were pretty envious!

Its our First Communion here today also, Baubles, my former school's. I have to open up the church, but have had little sleep, due to that blooming cough!

GM, I wish your husband a pain free day, if possible. You are correct, chronic pain is so debilitating. It breaks your spirit.

Have a lovely day everyone and specials thoughts for all the poorly DDs.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 07-May-22 07:31:44

Morning all from what looks like a damp West Oxfordshire. I am meeting an old friend for lunch in a small village midway between where she lives and my house. We each have a half hour drive. A lot of you need flowers ??? today and I am thinking of Mr and Mrs GM in particular.

dragonfly46 Sat 07-May-22 07:22:19

Good morning, the sun is shining here after an evening of rain - perfect.

Such an unnecessary wasted journey Mattie. I hope the results come soon. Maybe in this case a telephone appointment is better.

A coffee in town sitting outside this morning before our appointment with the podiatrist.

Wishing every one a good especially those away on trips.

brook2704 Sat 07-May-22 07:19:26

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild and dry, hopefully the sun will get up soon
Have a lovely time in Llandudno Mick it’s always nice to have a trip away
Enjoy Córdoba pantglas a beautiful place to visit
Today we’re dropping DGS off at a canoeing activity and then will go for breakfast somewhere before picking him up. DGS and DGD are both staying for a sleepover tonight too so it’ll be a busy but enjoyable weekend
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Sat 07-May-22 07:17:04

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun’s just up. ?? Hope you have a lovely trip up to Córdoba Pantglas! I don’t have a clue what we might do today. Tomorrow we plan to bus from Arroyo de la Miel up to the pretty town of Benalmádena Pueblo, have a stroll and a coffee then back on the bus up to Mijas - a larger more bustling town where we hope to have lunch at our favourite restaurant on Calle San Sebastián.

So perhaps a quiet day - maybe just a stroll along the paseo. I love the weekends down there, the little boats with their cream sails take part in regattas.

We had FaceTime from the family yesterday after school. L’il Miss has a wider gap now as her second baby tooth has come out. At least she didn’t swallow this one! She looked so cute. ?

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Sar53 Sat 07-May-22 07:15:06

Good morning from Bram where the sun is shining.
We had a trip to Carcassonne yesterday on the train, it's only one stop from here.
We didn't go to the walled city just the main town where we stopped for drinks and lunch.
The walled city is for another day when we will take the car.
We had an impromptu wine and cheese gathering during the evening with the two other couples who are staying here as well as Ian our host. It was warm enough to sit in the grounds.
Today we need to shop and replenish our wine and cheese.
Enjoy your Saturday whatever you may get up to.
Much love from France xx

BlueBalou Sat 07-May-22 07:07:00

Good morning everyone from a quiet start here in Wiltshire, the clouds are breaking up so perhaps we’ll have a bright sunny day later.
I had a lovely afternoon at art group yesterday, finished my painting and I am actually quite pleased with it! Not bad for the first time painting in 28 years!
We’re attempting seascapes next week, I look forward to it.
Nothing planned for today other than usual chores.
I must get a joint out of the freezer for tomorrow, maybe beef for once.
Enjoy your travels and hugs for those of you with troubling times x

baubles Sat 07-May-22 06:45:29

Good morning all from dull but dry South Lanarkshire.

Enjoy your bus trip Mick.

How upsetting Mattie to have made the effort to get your DH to the appointment for nothing. I hope he has a better day today.

A neighbour’s child is making her first communion today and we’ve been invited to the celebration but DH has to go back to finish the flooring in DS’s kitchen so I’ll go alone.

Happy holidays to all the travellers and good wishes to those feeling under par.

grandMattie Sat 07-May-22 06:36:55

The tree planting must have been life affirming, Ash, and a relief from the sadness of your neighbour’s death.
It is always difficult to give bad news of that sort, isn’t it?

cornergran Sat 07-May-22 06:32:48

Morning Mick, morning All. Looks cloudy out there, sun forecast later.

Out and about with friends today. Looking forward to it, or I will be when I decide what I’ll be comfortable wearing. A major dither going on here.

Enjoy Llandudno, mick. Mr C and I had a thoroughly enjoyable relaxed and sunny week there a few years ago. Our apartment had a bright red leather sofa I claimed as my own until I realised it was so well polished I constantly slid off. grin. There was a little balcony with a beautiful view where we sat for meals, good memories.

I share your amazement yesterdays appointment wasn’t cancelled grandmattie, common sense lacking there.

Safe journeys to all our travellers. Hope Saturday is as good as it can be for us all.

Ashcombe Sat 07-May-22 06:16:31

Good morning, from a sunny Torbay. Have a safe and enjoyable trip, Mick, and I hope it’s brighter in N. Wales! Safe travels to Oopsadaisy1, too!

I hope Mr.grandMattie has a better day; how frustrating that hospital visit must have been yesterday!

Thank you for all the kind comments yesterday, which helped me through some sad moments, especially as it fell to me to share the news of our mutual neighbour's demise with others, who were equally saddened. A sense of disbelief pervades our little community, despite knowing how poorly the chap had been. As EkwaNimitee rightly said, there will be concerns about his replacement. There are two flats currently empty out of the seven in the block.

My sadness lifted when I attended a tree planting in the park opposite. One was to commemorate our Queen's Platinum Jubilee, with the other being in memory of Covid victims. Our priest blessed the trees and it was good to chat to the Y6 children from our local school who were in attendance. The reassurance of young life in every sense!

Wishing you all some happiness in whatever you plan for today. ??????

Pantglas2 Sat 07-May-22 06:14:07

Buen dia and Bore da Mick - enjoy you trip to lovely Llandudno- hope weather is good for you ?

I’m enjoying the use of my Spanish chamberpot ☕️ ?all exited before our gallivant to Córdoba where ? is guaranteed and the pretty floral displays in the tiny streets will be in full bloom - oh I can’t wait!

Will catch up with all your doings but have as good a day peeps as you can and a peaceful Sunday as well x

grandMattie Sat 07-May-22 06:09:31

Good morning from a dull E Kent.
Your mystery tour sound fun, Mick. I hope you enjoy it and the socialising involved.
Bad day yesterday. Poor DH was in considerable pain; then we went to see the oncologist. The biopsy results hadn’t arrived so it was a wasted journey, nothing could be planned/discussed. Why no one thought to call us and cancel is beyond me.
I spoke to the hospice and all analgesia has been upped. DH didn’t have such a bad night, though needed stuff at 0130. Hope the increased analgesia starts to work soon. Pain is so debilitating.
Rugby today, so DH will be entertained for some of the day. Got some ironing and might go back to a quilt I started early last year.
May today be kind to you all and you manage to catch @ passing flamingo ?. Carpe diem. ???☀️?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 07-May-22 06:06:36

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dull (so far) Oxfordshire, it’s early so hopefully the sun will appear.

Packing to go away for a week, can’t start yet as MrOops is still asleep, it will be nice to be near the sea.

Hope all have a nice day

Michael12 Sat 07-May-22 05:55:23

Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey and wet here in brackley this morning.
More or less prepacked for my one night away on a coach trip mystery to Llandudno .
The itinerary reads as a stop on the way back maybe another resort down the road or somewhere else before returning home tomorrow .
Take Care,
Mick
