Good morning from sunny Leicestershire - we are promised 20 degrees which will be good as we are going on a garden visit today.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a sunny Black Country.

Normally my Monday morning walking group, but as I am still positive (day 9 now) I won’t be going . I really need the exercise now as I feel fine now. We usually walk between 5 - 7 miles.

After a similar narrow escape *Ashcombe• I never cross a crossing now until I can see that all traffic has stopped !

Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning all and it’s another gorgeous day here in Essex.

Ash that was a near miss. Good job you had your wits about you ?

Mick sorry your trip wasn’t what you expected. Disappointing! ?.

We are off out for breakfast today with DS1 and DDil. It will be our treat as they are always treating us. We will go to DH’s golf club and probably sit out on the patio as it’s nice , overlooking the duck pond and the beautiful course. ⛳️. .

Enjoy your day, everyone ???

Good morning from Ibiza and another sunny day.

Yesterday we laid around the pool on sun beds in the morning and afterwards went for lunchtime drinks at the beach bar nearby. Then we walked to the other end of the resort. In the evening we went to Restaurant st where we had a lovely meal I had salmon kebab that came with baked potato and salad. Very healthy! We came back and sat on our balcony enjoying the view over the water and the lights looking towards Siesta. So pretty.
Today we are going to Ibiza town . I’m not sure if I will make it up to Dalt Villa I’m not as fit as I was on our last visit.
pantglas Córdoba sounds lovely.

Belated birthday wishes Cornergran

Hope the celebrations went well yesterday Grannmarie and enjoyed seeing your family

Take care everyone.

P.s. I’m a bit confused here as to whether Mick thinks Cheshire Oaks or Bicester Village is the better of the two? ?

Me too, Urms.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow. No wall to wall sunshine from us, I hope DH gets back from the golf before the rain starts!
I'm sorry your trip was disappointing, Mick. The first time, I visited Cheshire Oaks on a girl's weeked, I thought I had died and gone to heaven, despite it only being half the size it is today! We had nothing like that in the Glasgow area at that time, still don't.
Pants, it sounds as if you had a wonderful time in Cordoba.

Despite promising myself a quiet day, I ended up as usual being busy. I gave DH a much needed haircut, baked chocolate brownies and sultana cake and made some advance dinners.

Just as I settled down to watch my rubbish Turkish drama the phone rang, a desperate call from our young assistant priest. He asked if I was busy, but I declined to tell him about my secret vice. blush.
Having received a phone call from the hospital, asking him to bring the PP home (what a relief), the evening sacristan had just phoned in sick at the last minute, could I cover opening the church and set up for evening Mass, to allow him to go and pick up a very impatient PP?
I was covered in flour from baking, ( I am a very messy baker) and didn't have much time to change.
I pulled on the magic trousers, mentioned in the recent threads and was smart enough to pass muster! They are indeed magic.

Just as I got there, I bumped into one of the sacristans, a young man, who finds the challenges of society very problematic. However, that is a benefit to the parish, as he is meticulous about how things are done.
We are good friends, as he manages the heavier jobs for me. I hadn't seen much of him, due to the pandemic, so instead of going home, he offered to give me a hand. It was the easiest shift I had ever done, with an added bonus of catching up on all the gossip!
Added to that pleasure, my ex colleague and friend arrived for Mass, as elegant for ever, when I as usual, looked a frump, in comparison. Somethings never change! She is nearly 70, but is still stunning! ?

My only plan today is to update the church first aid box. I have accumulated a veritable pharmacy at home, so I don't need to buy anything. The reason, I sat down in my seat on Saturday, to see blood running down my hand. (blooming blood thinners). I had felt nothing. Unfortunately, the First Aid box had nothing in it, even the glucose drinks were out of date. I ended up with a crumpled, old plaster DH keeps in his wallet, in case he gets sore heels , golfing.

I wish you all the best of days, especially if you have lovely sunshine to lift your spirits. (grrr)
For those in the sick bay, get well soon and for those with sorrow in their heart, I hope you find peace.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy just now with some rain forecast for later
I’ve a busy day today with the gym this morning and then the dreaded dentist this afternoon. In between I’ll have lunch out somewhere and a browse around the shops as it’s not really worth coming back home.
Thanks for the book recommendation Urms I’m just looking for a new book to start now
Hood everyone finds something to enjoy today, even just a little thing and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Mon 09-May-22 07:27:32

Goodness Scentia I cannot believe that baby girl is 1y old this week!

Urmstongran Mon 09-May-22 07:24:36

No Matt, it’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another gorgeous day as Pantglas says. We have no plans today. Himself has one or two minor maintenance jobs he wants to do before we fly home on Wednesday.

I shall read more of this book which I started on Saturday. It was a recommendation in the ‘Saga’ magazine a few weeks ago and I’m enjoying it already. A ‘new’ author for me although I see she’s written quite a few books.

Enjoy Monday all who can. x

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun is out already!
Off to work shortly, then I am off on a bike ride later today.
DH has been so tired after he had a night away with drinking on Friday. He has realised that since is heart attack then alcohol is not going to be his go to drink when on a night out, poor man, he loves his real ale. He will have to stop at a few pints and that is that I suppose ?
It is DGS 3rd birthday today and this weekend coming will be the first chance of a party due to Covid the last 2 years. He will share the party with his sister who will be 1 on Thursday.
Have a good day if you can, make the most of the sunshine and take care of yourselves and others❤️

Morning all from a sunny S Hants. I’d have been disappointed too Mick hope the next one is better.
Ups and downs gMattie ?
Sounds beautiful pants not a paella lover here either.
Golf was played with the grandchildren yesterday in a haphazard manner, but was fun, breaks for water and sun cream.
Garden centre today, I seem to have lost a couple of plants, so need to replace them.
Have fun those on holiday, or days out. Thoughts with those struggling ??.

Sar53 Mon 09-May-22 07:18:23

Good morning from France. Yesterday was wall to wall sunshine, today is going to be the same.
A visit to the supermarket is the most strenuous thing we will be doing today.
Sorry your trip wasn't as good as you were expecting Mick but a change of scenery is always a bonus.
Have a lovely Monday everyone and hopefully you will see some sun ? xx

baubles Mon 09-May-22 07:11:33

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Sorry your mystery tour wasn’t up to scratch Mick.

I hope your DH enjoys the warmth of the sun today gM.

A narrow escape Ashcombe, what an idiotic driver.

We had an unexpected visit yesterday from DD and gang as GDG was playing rugby near here and her sisters didn’t fancy standing on the sidelines so DD asked if she could drop them off with us. Unfortunately for me I was just on my way out to Mass and as I was helping with the teas afterwards I didn’t see much of them. DH had a lovely time though.

Off to work today, I’m looking forward to seeing what treasures we have. A lovely man has come from abroad to clear his parents’ house and has been kind enough to donate some beautiful pieces which have been flying off the shelves as fast as we can get them out. We are most grateful on behalf of the charity.

Have a good day everyone and look out for flamingos ?.

kittylester Mon 09-May-22 07:11:22

Good morning all from a warm and sunny North Leicestershire.

I have a singing lesson first thing and will call at the village Market for fruit and veg on the way home. I have a meeting about an exciting new initiative we are undertaking for people recently diagnosed with dementia. A big change for me as our focus is usually on their Carers.

As always, sending love and support to everyone who needs it

BlueBalou Mon 09-May-22 06:49:02

A beautiful sunny start here in Wiltshire, off for an early dog walk shortly.
A bitty day yesterday but I sorted the greenhouse out with big pots in trays for the tomatoes, potted up a dozen white hellebore seedlings growing in the patio, cooked a roast and moved the swinging seat - though I think I will move it back to its previous position- I must ask DH to get the cushions out of the shed today.
Today I really must tidy my craft room and sort out the weeds growing out by the compost bins - one of which had a slow worm in yesterday (absolutely delighted!), hopefully it will have young in there.

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Berkshire

Off home today after a long weekend with friends. The birthday wishes were appreciated, thank you all. We’ve enjoyed every moment here although as usual will be pleased to be home again.

Hope you can both rest a little and enjoy the warmth today grandmattie, pleased you remained unscathed ash.

Safe journey to those travelling, happy holiday wishes to those away and supportive thoughts to those with heavy hearts

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
Glad you enjoyed Cheshire Oaks, Mick. Llandudno is a favourite destination for us. The last time we went we enjoyed two boat trips.
Yesterday’s ramble and picnic with friends in Cheshire ended with fillet steak and trimmings on our journey home. Splendid - nothing to do when we returned!
Today we have DGS and later we are minding DGdog1 who is having an operation this morning to remove two mysterious growths. The cone of shame may have to be worn as one growth is on her lip and she loves to pick up and carry sticks.
I hope your DH enjoys the warmth grandMattie.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 09-May-22 06:31:43

Good morning, Mick and company from an increasingly less sunny Torbay. I’m glad you’re safely home from Llandudno, Mick, although you don’t sound as if you had a memorable time. Do you have other trips planned? Córdoba sounds lovely, Pantglas2! What a heartwarming suggestion from your DD, grandMattie!

Yesterday began with a distinctly chilly feel here until well after lunch when the sun finally broke through. After church, I headed down to the seafront to meet two theatre friends for lunch. I narrowly avoided being run over when crossing (as the green man was showing) because a woman drove straight on regardless!

Luckily, I had spotted her speeding down the hill and so I stopped in the middle of the road with my hands in the air in a ??‍♀️(What the dickens?) gesture!! Once in the restaurant I felt better once I’d had a Kir Royale, celebrating my lucky escape and being reunited for a meal with two folk with whom I haven’t dined since pre pandemic.

I hope today starts a good week for us all. ??????

grandMattie Mon 09-May-22 06:12:48

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
I’m sorry your mystery tour was disappointing, Mick, but welcome back.
We are promised temperatures of 20C today, with wall-to-wall sunshine. This house faces west and gets pretty hot, especially with the patio doors letting in so much heat. DH will be in his element.
Not such a good day yesterday. ?
I tried eating our main meal midday rather than the evening, but changed back for a couple of days. He eats less in the evenings, so I shall revert to lunchtime. I don’t much like it as it disrupts my day, but if it means that DH eats better, so be it.
Nothing planned for today, it will no doubt unfold with the usual complications…
Got to sort out the church for the interment of Philip’s ashes when DS1 returns at the end of the month. DD has said she wants to perform the ceremony herself. If she feels able to, that is a wonderful gift to give her little brother.
May today allow you to catch a passing flamingo ?. Be strong. Carpe diem. ????☀️????

Pantglas2 Mon 09-May-22 06:07:55

Morning Mick from a dry dark and soon to be sunny ? Spain ??- glad you enjoyed your trip.

Had a lovely time in Córdoba, all you gardeners would have admired the stunning Los Patios floral displays and I wish I’d had a paella ? like that photo yesterday - sadly MrPG doesn’t like it and they usually serve two (too much even for a scoffalot like me!)

Will pop in later to see what you’re all up to but it’s heartwarming to read about the birthdays ?, the gallivants and folks feeling better and getting on with stuff x

Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and sunny start here in brackley this morning.
My weekend in Llandudno , was OK , but the mystery in the journey travelling up we spent 3 hours looking around the Cheshire Oaks designer outlet at Ellesmere Port, to be honest the local Bicester Village as not got a patch on it , shops , pubs , food outlets etc and busy with a mixture of visitors from area.
Returned late yesterday , as we had more time in Llandudno before returning home.
Take Care,
Mick
