Its grey but dry with some wind this mooning in brackley .
Original plans for the day have been scuppered .
Still signs of fall , black eye ,and cuts although healing , plan on Monday to contact surgery and see I can get low blood pressure tablets added to my medication list.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a grey and windy Northampton, but due to brighten up after lunch.

Enjoyed the service yesterday morning,.And then popped to the shops in the afternoon.

Last home rugby match of the season today,. but all to play for as if we win we get to the Premiership semi-finals, so a full house is expected, and we shall need to be in good voice. Have set my tv to record the match, Just wondering which of my shirts to wear depending on the weather! Will have a nice steak when I get back and either raise a glass to celebrate, or drown my sorrows....

Granny23 flowersflowers for your anniversary.

Granny23 a poignant day for you ?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 04-Jun-22 08:41:53

Good morning from a very wet Oxfordshire, torrential rain overnight and it’s our Village Jubilee celebrations today, I think the marquees will be coming out of storage.
Off to the Bathroom showroom today, although despite his promises our bathroom chap hasn’t sent us his quote, here we go again…….
Apart from that I’m going to put blankets, duvets into bags and then suck the air out, with the help of the Hoover, let’s see if that works shall we? Knowing my luck it won’t.
GM and Granny23 ??
Have a restful day, hopefully with some sun for you all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 10° with blue skies and clouds. * Susan* I'm sorry to hear that you still have problems with your mum.
Yesterday ended up not so quiet as dd and the boys came for a picnic and stayed a while. It was such good fun.
Today I'm heading out shortly to meet a friend for breakfast. Have a good day all.

Today we’re off to DD2s house to take DGD to her dance class and then DD2 and DGS will have lunch somewhere in town and probably a walk by the river. DGS wants to go to the park with the crazy golf too. Later on DH and I are planning our own Jubilee afternoon tea in the garden so hoping the weather lasts
Yuk marydoll poor Dollie, I hope those wellies dried out ok - sounds like you had a lovely day though
Thinking of you Granny23
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. After 2 days of sun a grey, wet weekend beckons.
We were planning a family barbecue but we will probably have to stay indoors. DH is in charge of meat and I'll make salads.
Love to all ? x

harrigran Sat 04-Jun-22 08:27:34

Good morning from an overcast NE. It must be cool as the heating has just come on.
Another bad night, must have been 3am before I closed my eyes.
I tended the pot plants and swept the patio before lunch and then decided to clean the window frames and windows. Not a soul around in our street, so quiet.
Sister and BIL are coming this afternoon, bringing my bread, milk and a newspaper. DS and family will come around teatime after DS test drives new cars.
Have a good weekend.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 04-Jun-22 08:26:33

Oops didn’t finish! We are going to a family wedding in Southern Ireland, we go to my sister in Surrey on Monday, then fly out altogether on Wednesday ready for the Wedding on Thursday
Have the best day possible folks

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 04-Jun-22 08:22:16

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
Yesterday after very little sleep I was helping to weed DDs garden in readiness for her friends arriving today. DGS was watering the garden and everywhere else!
Got to go into town this am to get more euros for next week. Got to get some packing started too. DH prefers to pack on the morning we leave!

Granny23 Sat 04-Jun-22 08:18:20

Never mind the Jubilee - 56 years ago today, I married the love of my life. 4 years later we became parents and again 3 years later. Fast forward nearly 20 years and our DDs had flown the nest to Universities, only to both return to live nearby and present us with the gift of 3 Grandchildren.
Sadly, DH succumbed to Dementia and I became his carer and 'lost' him day by day, bit by bit until he died and I became not just a widow but HIS widow.

So today, while the rest of the village is celebrating the Jubilee with 'Music In the Park', at which my DD's band will be playing, I'll be remembering our Wedding Day and our fabulous Golden Wedding celebration.

Morning all from a breezy S Hants, we had heavy rain overnight.
Safe and speedy trip home LLFL.
Thoughts with you Susan56 it’s so hard.
We had the family for a bbq yesterday at lunchtime, it started spotting with rain about 4pm, so a quick retreat indoors, then everyone left.
Bowls was off as too slippy, so we cleared up and had a quiet evening.
MrJ has work at a friend’s house and I’m gardening today.
Enjoy your day all, thoughts with those struggling ??

kittylester Sat 04-Jun-22 08:11:13

Good morning all from a cloudy, breezy and cold North Leicestershire.

Our singing yesterday was great fun and today we are singing twice on the platform of our local heritage railway. I suspect we need to be well wrapped up.

Sending love and support to all with worries of any sort.

Gingster Sat 04-Jun-22 08:08:14

Good morning all and yes Sar it’s grey and breezy here in Essex.

Yesterday was a lovely day, weather glorious and catch-up with friends enjoyable.

Not much on today - read the papers and finish my book.
I had a yearning for cheese straws last evening and made a couple of dozen. I ate too many and suffered during the night! ☹️. Why did I do that! ?.

susan sorry to hear you have problems with your mum. Hope you can resolve them. ?. I do know how you feel.

I’m enjoying the jubilee celebrations on the t v . Britain at its best ??.

Wishing you all some joy today. ?

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its only 7°C. A warm day is forecast, I hope it actually happens!

Yesterday was spent at a breezy seaside with Dollie. She was in excellent form and great company. I am, however, bankrupt, after spending all my life savings in the toy shop, amusements, and on fish suppers and ice cream!
All was well, until she stepped on some seaweed, which was actually covering a hole, filled with water and slimy seaweed. Yuk, yuk, yuk!
She totally freaked out, as her wellies were full of slime and her trousers covered in it. We actually forget that she is so young and still easily upset.

Given that DD and SIL are staying and added into the mix, a surprise visit from DS2, she co-erced everyone into playing board games. DS2 was relieved to escape!
At the moment, she is sleeping beside me, like a princess. My eyes are filling up watching her and seeing how innocent she looks.

Susan, I can empathise with your situation, my mother also refused offers of help, to the point that she refused to allow workmen in to do essential repairs, but was letting strangers in to the house. I was at my wits end.

Once Dollie goes home, I have a multitude of things to do, after very little sleep. Not because of Dollie, who has slept all night, because of the excruciating levels of joint pain. There is no respite!

For all who have mountains to climb, and burdened with worry and sorrow, I wish you a gentle day. ?

Good morning from a very grey and windy day in Essex by the sea.
I need to go and buy birthday cards today, 6 family birthdays between now and the beginning of July and that doesn't include mine .
A takeaway curry this evening, football to watch then the big Jubilee Concert.
Sorry to hear about your struggles with your mum Susan. I remember those times well. Being the only daughter most of the worry fell to me.
I hope everyone has a super Saturday, much love xx

BlueBalou Sat 04-Jun-22 07:52:20

Good morning everyone, it’s cloudy and breezy here in Ceredigion, we’re still in bed drinking coffee.
Off to Aberystwyth on the train I think this morning, just for something different! I wonder what DDog will make of that?
There’s a fabulous tapas restaurant I’m hoping we can either eat at or buy something lovely there for lunch.
We saw dolphins from our window yesterday morning so looking out for more!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Greyduster Sat 04-Jun-22 07:42:23

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s cool and cloudy in South Yorkshire and I am in no hurry to get out of bed. We had a lovely neighbourhood jubilee tea party yesterday but by late evening there wasn’t much tea in evidence??! We were all swathed in rugs and down jackets because it got quite cold and they were all still at it when I went to bed! It was great fun. DH would have loved it! Today will be a quiet day for me. I’ll make a chilli for dinner, and get out in the garden if it stays dry.
Susan so sorry you are beset with worries about your dear mum?.
Hope you sell a lot of marmalade, GM. Love it!
Have the best day you can folks.

Urmstongran Sat 04-Jun-22 07:34:08

No Matt today he must be enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend.

Good morning everyone from Ibiza where we have another gloriously sunny day ahead of us and a high of 26°C later. We are on Day 6 of 10 here. The four younger adults in our family fancy a visit to Ibiza town today, sightseeing and a late lunch. We will mind the children who are living their best lives - swimming in the pool, fishing nets for tiddlers in the Mediterranean over the road, games of pool for the Boy Wonder and the purchasing of bracelets and anklets in the shops for L’il Miss. My stepfather is in his element with all the fuss and attention he’s getting.

I’ve just taken this photo from where I’m sitting, waiting for the magpies come down to join us for breakfast. I’m in no rush to fly home as you can imagine. This is all so enjoyable.

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Grammaretto Sat 04-Jun-22 07:33:10

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A bit warmer today after a cold day. I am on duty at the community café, 2nd shift. There is a jubilee tea at the church hall this afternoon. I may go though I've already eaten too much cake.
Sorry you are feeling rough Mick . Take it easy today. Remember you don't have to do anything.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 04-Jun-22 07:27:44

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is an overcast sky here and a bit of a breeze.

It will be good for you GM to have some time for yourself.

I am so sorry to hear about your problems with your mum Susan it’s difficult as I know well with my MIL in the same position.

Yesterday we nipped out early for a top up shop and then I caught the service from St. Paul’s.
We were both feeling a bit tired in the afternoon so decided just to have an easy afternoon. I did a bit of cooking and then decided to relax and watch the tennis. It was Rafael Nadal in the semi finals. He’s my favourite. Just as the second set was starting I saw my DS and family walking past. Oh no peace over! Especially when GS asked mummy if he could stay with us for a while as they were heading home. She said it’s up to Grandma - well who could resist! He was so funny playing a bit of a daredevil game and telling me to video him. At the end he turned to the camera and said “don’t try this at home” DH and I were in hysterics. He went home after tea.

I’m not sure if we will have him today for a few hours. He can play us like a fiddle. He was saying about going to the coast which he loves. There are three places we’ve taken him to and it took us a while to work out which one he meant. Depends if we feel up to it!

Take care everyone,

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 04-Jun-22 06:57:32

Morning all from a bright Cardigan Bay. We are heading back to West Oxfordshire this morning and hope it doesn’t take seven hours again! I am off to London tomorrow afternoon to look after granddaughter for a few days so it would be nice to relax at home a bit first! ??? to the GM’s.

Susan56 Sat 04-Jun-22 06:55:35

Good morning from Shropshire.

We had an enjoyable day yesterday at the jubilee event in DD’s village but then got home to another crisis with my mum.

I am at my wits end as to what to do.I had a long talk with my younger brother last night and we agree on what should happen but trying to get my mother to accept help is not easy.I am exhausted trying to sort things from a distance and obviously no GP service until Monday which in the present circumstances seems a very long wait.

Thinking of all with illness, worries and struggles and wishing you all the best weekend possible??
