Just watching the concert at Buckingham Palace and who should pop up but Her Majesty doing a beautiful clip with Paddington Bear. Even better than her appearance with James Bond

I imagine that Prince Charles wanted her there.

Grandyma Sat 04-Jun-22 23:23:02

Why did Camilla need to stand up with Charles while he made his speech? William didn’t take Kate up with him.

I thought my heart was going to explode with sheer pride and happiness this evening. Wasn't the whole thing absolutely brilliant.
Every single minute. ???

When the image of the Queen and Paddington came up on my tablet, I thought for a moment that Google was spying on me again - I had bought a Paddington book in a charity shop this afternoon. What a coincidence grin

The Queen and Paddington 10 out of 10. ?☕️

Queen and Lambert fabulous. Hurray ?

Light show at end brilliant. ?

And I thought I would only watch about half an hour but I watched the lot with my niece who was What’s Apping me from Italy where she lives and watching it from there.

Fabulous concert with brilliant staging. Bit disappointed with Diana Ross dressed as Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations. Seemed to be miming and just going through the motions !
Elton should have been final act.

I turned over for the last half hour or so and didn’t know who anyone was until Stephen Fry and Diana Ross who I worried was going to trip over her voluminous dress.
The lighting effects were very good.

Cabbie21 Sat 04-Jun-22 22:46:42

I was wanting it to end with just a short finale after Charles’ speech.

Callistemon21 Sat 04-Jun-22 22:45:54

Perhaps Queen should have headlined?
Just my opinion.

Diana Ross was ok but not spectacular.

Lesley60 Sat 04-Jun-22 22:45:01

I wasn’t that impressed with the artists, I either didn’t know who they were or they were has beens who should have stayed where they were.
Fantastic lighting though, and the Queen and Paddington was funny.

Callistemon21 Sat 04-Jun-22 22:35:08

Yes, a finale would have been good.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 04-Jun-22 22:34:41

Yes I was surprised at the abrupt ending. Thought there might have been fireworks at the end. Poor Charlotte looked so tired.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done all involved.

Marmight Sat 04-Jun-22 22:33:50

Abrupt ending indeed. They let sport over run so why not let this concert do the same! angry

merlotgran Sat 04-Jun-22 22:33:28

Why the abrupt ending? Last time they had all the acts on stage for a finale. What a disappointment.

Callistemon21 Sat 04-Jun-22 22:33:25

Excellent.

And the light show was just wonderful!

rafichagran Sat 04-Jun-22 22:33:01

I really enjoyed that.

Joseanne Sat 04-Jun-22 22:32:33

For me, technologically world class. The design and pin point accuracy.

ElaineI Sat 04-Jun-22 22:32:09

Concert good but 2 questions. Why only an English rose with the drones - which were brilliant but is this a message to Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland? Noticed this immediately. And why was Diana Ross miming the songs? Out of sync and volume wrong - was she unwell?

Calendargirl Sat 04-Jun-22 22:31:22

Oh, Charlotte still wide awake and waving her flag.

Abrupt ending!

merlotgran Sat 04-Jun-22 22:31:11

Well done Diana Ross.

Calendargirl Sat 04-Jun-22 22:28:05

I think on the whole, it’s been a splendid show. Much better than I thought it would be.

Do you think they get paid, or perform for free for the prestige?

Joseanne Sat 04-Jun-22 22:26:52

And the wrist bands in the audience are controlled by someone lighting them up in different colours.

Purpledaffodil Sat 04-Jun-22 22:26:36

And why Diana Ross dressed as a teapot? ?‍?

eazybee Sat 04-Jun-22 22:26:27

Well, Diana Ross is showing them how it is done.

Libman Sat 04-Jun-22 22:26:18

Hmm - Diana Ross miming and being out of sync
