Morning all

Sorry to hear you have cancelled your day trip Mick , hope you are feeling more like your old self soon.

Oh dear Susan56 what a terrible ordeal for you, pleased that it got sorted though.

Urms enjoy your day with your DD

It’s grey here in S E Essex not sure what today will bring, we had our neighbours get together on Friday, so it could be me and my book.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good morning from a damp Colchester.
We have a big lunch Street party today. Luckily I have a red raincoat and will wear jeans with it for patriotic colour. My planned dress has gone back into the wardrobe. I am taking a fruit platter as I am suffering from a surfeit of cake.
I hope to spot my niece performing in the Jubilee pageant on TV later.
Also today is DS's 21st birthday. We had a family barbecue yesterday to celebrate.
Love to all ?x

Morning from cloudy S Hants, it’s distinctly cool.
Such a worry Sue I hope your day is quieter.
We’ll be watching and rooting for ??????? Pant.
Thoroughly enjoyed the jubilee concert last night after a day of garden pottering. If it stays dry, I’ll finish off this afternoon.
Enjoy today if you can ??

Morning all from a very soggy North Leicestershire.

It is tipping down and our choir are theoretically singing at the railway again. Hey ho.

Sending love to all who need it today.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a wet, decidedly chilly South Yorkshire. Shame you had to cancel your trip Mick but Cardiff will still be there when you’re feeling better. Family are coming for a roast dinner later. I will slow roast a shoulder of pork and pudding will be pineapple upside down cake (my son in law’s favourite). It will be lovely to have someone to share the table with.
A hug for all faced with difficulties today. I hope someone has some sunshine somewhere to finish off the Jubilee weekend!

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Sorry about today’s Trip Mick. It’s wise to go to your surgery tomorrow And check up On your medication ?.
Apart from walking into town yesterday for some holiday bits, baking and cooking meals, I did very little yesterday- watched a bit of jubilee celebrations on TV.
Today I aim to get to church then in the afternoon we have been invited to DDs for a meal. Still to finish our packing.
You will be so relieved to get help for your mum Susan.
it sounds like you are almost back to a normal life GrandMattie let’s hope it stays that way!
Have the best day possible folks!

Good morning all and it’s damp here in Essex.

Yesterday turned out well. My friend phoned at midday to ask if I wanted her husbands ticket for a hog roast party.(he was unwell) . I hadn’t been able to get one as they sold out very quickly. I jumped at the chance and had a lovely, fun afternoon, with a singalong , quiz and games . Hog roast was delish and I saw old friends and acquaintances I hadn’t seen for 2 or 3 years.

I enjoyedthe jubilee concert last evening . ??. Such a joyful occassion.

Today we have DD and little gd coming for roast dinner. The twin gs’s may come ?.

Susan I do hope you have a more relaxed day. What a time you’re having ?.

GM wishing you a ‘good’ day. ?.

Urms have a lovely lunch with your YL. ????.

Wishing you all a gentle day. ?

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire. It’s always good to be home from a holiday. I am driving up to Kew around 3 pm and will stay at son’s place for a few days looking after my granddaughter. Son and his partner are off to Venice for a few days. Before I leave home I have to drop off a cake (chocolate buttermilk) for the local Jubilee party, I hope the rain clears for it! Our gardener came while we were away and the garden is looking beautiful. It is mainly pink, purple and white. ??? to lots of you.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow.

Such a shame about your trip, Mick, but probably for the best, when you were going on your own. You really need a chat with your GP.
I am surprised that nothing was organised, when you were in A&E after your collapse.

It's good to hear you sounding a bit more upbeat, GM. You have put me in the notion for making marmalade.

Susan my heart goes out to you, having been there many times. Disgraceful that you could not access immediate help, especially when you are so far away. However, I don't think that is unusual nowadays.
I was very fortunate and grateful, when I received an immediate response from the 111 service last Monday. It seems very inconsistent.
I hope you are kind to yourself today and try to make some time for yourself. Your welfare is just as important.

I have been awake for hours, that damned hip of mine is stopping me sleeping, so I have decided to get up.
We had lovely day yesterday, when DS1 and DD spent some time with us, when they picked up Dollie, who refused to go home! Even better, DD and DIL were actually talking to each other after their estrangement over DD's wedding. It's been a difficult two years.
Even better, I came back from my sacristan duties at the vigil Mass to find DD and SIL, cooking dinner on the barbecue. I was so tired, I couldn't face cooking, so a lovely surprise.
A gentle day ahead for me too, my energy levels are very low, so I shall just potter. DD is going to make Sunday dinner, another barbecue. I am not complaining!!

Have a good Sunday everyone and for those struggling, I hope today is kind to you.?

* I’m not eating the sun cream, though reading back it sounded that way!

No Matt today.

Good morning everyone from Ibiza where it’s hot already at 8am. ?

A day dress, sandals, sunglasses and plenty of Factor 50 for me at breakfast as I’m off out straight after for lunch with the Yorkshire Lass. We don’t get as much mum & daughter time together and she’d like to have lunch together. Don’t know yet which pretty town we will visit.
?

Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

Pantglas2 Sun 05-Jun-22 07:08:54

Morning all from ? Andalusia where I’m partaking of the chamberpot ☕️ still in my pit!

Good to hear your patient is eating GrandMattie and your mum is being sorted Susan (even if it may not be what she wants!) I find I have to lay the law down with my own father occasionally- talk about role reversal, eh! ?‍♀️

Nothing much going on at mi Casa today until later when plucky little Wales will attempt, against all odds and current sentiments given Ukraine’s problems, to qualify for the ⚽️World Cup ? - we’ll watch the game and win or lose, will go out to celebrate with friends!

Belated best wishes for celebrations or commemorations in the last few days - even sadnesses need a toast ? I reckon to show a love that’s lost x

A Domingo tranquilo to you all x

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s damp and grey.

You must feel as a little weight has been lifted from your shoulders Susan.

I think you’re wise not to go on your trip Mick until you have seen someone.

I never made it to the street party. By the time I’d got all my painting finished, tidying done, the lawn mowing and planting before the rain forecast for today then a shower I was that weary I could have cried. I started to watch the concert from Buckingham Palace and fell asleep until the early hours. I’ll not do so much today. After a cooked breakfast I’m going to do some card making and maybe write some letters.

Have a good day and enjoy your roasts ???

BlueBalou Sun 05-Jun-22 06:52:34

Good morning everyone ??
Oh dear Susan, I can well imagine how fraught you must be - my father was as obstructive as he could be to my my mum receiving care, to the point that he’d cancel care packages because they didn’t arrive when he thought they should! The care was for mum, not him, and she was so frail. He knew exactly what he was doing too! ?
We had a lovely morning in Aberystwyth yesterday, a really nice town with lots of independent shops. I will definitely be going again.
We watched dolphins from the window yesterday evening, a lovely surprise.
Not a lot planned today but definitely a beach walk at some point.
I hope you all have a good day x

Susan56 Sun 05-Jun-22 06:34:11

Good morning from Shropshire where a very rainy day is forecast.

Sorry you had to cancel your trip Mick but probably best as you are still recovering from your fall.

Yesterday’s quiet day didn’t happen.Spent four hours trying to get medical assistance for my mum.Phone back times on 111 were up to nine hours.I desperation I called the non emergency police line and asked if they could do a welfare check. They we’re fantastic. They spoke to mum and decided they should call an ambulance. The paramedics came within a couple of hours and stayed a long time, did a complete medical assessment and rang me several times to update me.They didn’t want to take her to hospital as the waiting times in A and E were up to 16 hours and she would have to be alone. They called an advanced care practitioner who came out and prescribed some medication and even went to collect it for her.He has arranged an OT assessment for today or tomorrow and also has put in an application for a care assessment. He doesn’t think she needs care as such but just someone to come in to make sure she eats and takes her medication morning and evening.Again he kept me informed of what was happening. The emergency services were so good, kind, compassionate and caring and I am so grateful.

Thank you for all your kind words yesterday,it really does help and thank you Mick for this thread.

Today I am hoping for a quiet day??I was pacing around the house while I was on the phone yesterday and did 18,000 steps. My legs are aching today!

Thinking of all with illness, struggles and worries and wishing a better day for you all.??

grandMattie Sun 05-Jun-22 06:24:30

Good morning from a grey E Kent. No rain…
That’s a shame to miss your outing, Mick, but if you are nervous, it’s probably a good idea.
I enjoyed my little sortie to the library coffee morning yesterday and met a few people I hadn’t seen since lockdown! My marmalade went in a flash, obviously my reputation precedes me! ?
DS met some of his school friends again yesterday afternoon so we had a quieter than usual time. DH’s appetite seems to be coming back. He is eating, if not with pleasure, certainly a portion suitable for a 6year old rather than toddler!
Church early this morning (I’m already showered and dressed) then a leg of lamb to roast for lunch. More jubilee stuff to watch later.
May the day be gentle and you enjoy it. Carpe diem. ????

Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright but its raining here in brackley this morning.
Today , I had originally planned to go on a coach trip to Cardiff , but due to my fall I cancelled .
Plans for the day some housework, then cycling on TV later .
As to cuts , I used Vaseline on the brow cut ,and its looking better , the black eye is fading.
I have made an appointment at my opticians as an eye check annual one, plus to get glasses repaired , plus I still have to sort out my surgery as to seeing doctor as to low blood pressure medication.
Take Care,
Mick
