Aveline

After I gave birth to my son after an exhausting night in labour a kind nurse brought in a tray of tea and toast for me (those were the days). Needless to say after his good night's sleep, DH consumed the lot!!

In the delivery room with DD2 close to making an appearance, a passing nurse offered DH a roast pork lunch that was going spare. The midwives were so tickled by his obvious enjoyment of it while I did all the hard work that they found two puddings for him to finish off with.

Well, he does have form….when asked what he was going to do whilst I had my gall bladder out, he said he was going to have afternoon tea in the hospital (private) dining room.

Full English Breakfast in the hospital canteen after he had dropped me off for my first mastectomy!

Oh, and the cakes were definitely not for me lol.

Oh my, these posts certainly made me giggle. Poor you, Katey and Aveline!

I know I have dropped DH off for a procedure and didn't know what to do with myself for a few hours. Didn't think of a bakery though!

You have my deepest sympathy, Katey.

My husband usually accompanies me to my hospital appointments, as I find it too painful to drive any distance and compounded by my anxiety of driving across Glasgow (and I would hope out of love and concern for me wink ).
However, recently he was too ill to do so, after recovering from Covid.
I was determined to go to my long awaited appointment, despite having to face my bête noire of a really busy route, full of bus lanes and roadworks.

I thought I would go early and do a little shopping, prior to my appointment. At DH's request and somewhat pleased with myself, I sent a photo via Whats App to show that I had arrived safely and was parked in our usual spot.
Four hours later, after some retail therapy, having my appointment and returning home, I saw that he hadn't even looked at his phone! ?

Me again, I am on a roll with posts, sorry…..
Some may remember that I had my surgery cancelled, I had arrived at 7am emotionally and phycologically prepared, only to be sent home as I had tested positive for Covid. I tried to get in touch with my husband, who I expected would be…..sat in the car in the car park, wailing and crying at having just dropped me off for emergency, risky surgery…..he eventually answered his mobile, HE WAS IN THE CAKE SHOP lol
