Good morning Mick and all from a now cloudy northwest coast.
Dropping off jumble yesterday, I popped my purse on the roof of the car whilst rummaging in the boot and arriving home, a post office van drew up and called out. I thought it was a delivery, but he had followed me home with my purse left on the top! I was so grateful.
TV a mess, not recording, losing connection and now I have lost On Demand.
Having a quiet day as a busy few days looming up, but my gammy shoulder is easing up as have been using the other arm.
My DGD took photos here for her course and posted them on Insta, very arty, but dark and give the impression I live in incredible gloom and sadness. When I post on social media, I like to put up a good front, so she has been a bit too truthful for me lol.
Thoughts to GM, what a business and ashcombe, I hate all these worries.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire but rain forecast for this afternoon, currently 16°C.

I slept much better last night, so well that I’m still sat up in bed! My mug of tea is finished so I must get a move on and get showered. I’ll be back to catch up later.

I hope everyone has a good day today whatever you’re doing.

Urmstongran Thu 09-Jun-22 10:08:24

I’ve just had 2 boiled Burford Browns with hot buttered crumpets for my breakfast which always puts me in mind of someone.

? to you lovely if you are reading! x

Good morning from an overcast but mild NE.
SIL was here for most of the day yesterday, we treated ourselves to some lovely fruit tarts to have with our coffee. We watched two Lucy Worsley programmes about the black death and the witches of North Berwick, she really does make history interesting.
DD was still in Helsinki where they are two hours ahead of us and she was at a work's dinner so no Skype last night.
DS coming today and possible that we will visit Ushaw college, last outing in his present car. On Saturday he collects the one he bought last weekend.
Thinking of you all.

Jaxjacky Thu 09-Jun-22 09:21:19

Morning all from a blustery, cloudy S Hants. Phone duty today along with washing, looks like that will have to be dried indoors, drizzle forecast, again.
Lots of downs with a few ups on here today, hope your Thursday improves if it’s been a down ??.

luluaugust Thu 09-Jun-22 09:17:34

Good morning from a sunny NW Kent. Off to art group, we seem to have lost quite a few members since lockdown. I must try and do a bit of cleaning later.
Good wishes to all

EkwaNimitee Thu 09-Jun-22 09:08:12

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey cool Carlisle.
I got out in the garden yesterday afternoon and planted 2 small rose bushes. One, a dark red one, has a divine, 'proper' rose smell. The garden is now being haunted by young blackbirds, scratching up the bark mulch, pooping in the bird bath the sparrows enjoy and encouraged by me feeding them over-ripe nectarines which they love. Come late summer they will all have disappeared, sadly.
Today, a little housework before I have to go into town to see the podiatrist. I suspect only surgery would sort my crooked toe so it's going to be just a case of dealing with the soreness it causes. I'll do a charity shop visit while I'm there having steeled myself to cull a few things from my wardrobe.

You're sounding positive Scentia, hope all continues so.
Some of you need a better day so here's wishing you all one!

hulahoop Thu 09-Jun-22 09:03:30

dragonfly46 Thu 09-Jun-22 08:55:28

Good morning - also running late.

Mattie I am appalled at your lack of support. I hope they get their act together soon.

Ash so sorry you had one of those days. I know too the shock of needing an op hasn’t helped. I hope you have a better day today.

GG how worrying for you. Why are men so stubborn.
I tend to make the appointments without telling my DH so he feels he has to go.

Coffee in town this morning then belated NWR afternoon tea this afternoon. I am taking a new potential member I met at Tai Chi which is always nice.

Wishing everyone a trouble free and healthy day.

Anniebach Thu 09-Jun-22 08:43:07

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmabatty Thu 09-Jun-22 08:37:44

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and wet and gloomy. Lots of trouble on the thread today. ? For anyone who needs them. ? As well. I, too, had a bit of an unwell day yesterday. I suspect indigestion after my boiled eggs and buttered toast. Mum phoned to cancel my visit as she was going back to bed and then I got an invitation to a friend's house for coffee and cake so I did that instead.
Today I'll be pottering around the house mainly and attempting a bit of drawing. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Thu 09-Jun-22 08:26:18

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I went back to sleep so am running late.
Yoga had been moved to Thursday this week and there's no Gaelic class. I try to keep to a routine of sorts as it helps.
Sorry for your added troubles Ash
gMattie . I just ring up. If you wait to be phoned back you never are. I rang for the result of last week's x-ray but was told it was far too soon. Really? There is at last a nice person in reception who is polite - a nice change.

I'm glad your picnic was enjoyable Oops

Have a great day .

Taichinan Thu 09-Jun-22 08:23:51

Good morning all from a misty murky Angus coast. The sun will be out later though, I'm sure.
Oh dear Ash, it never rains but it pours, as they say. What an inappropriate time for your DH to lose his phone, but isn't that 'find my phone app' a wonderful thing though! Glad Old Dudders got back to France without any further mishaps.
I had a lovely run out with my friend yesterday, although we didn't go where we expected to - purely because we were busy chatting and I took a wrong turning! We found a little countryside restaurant that I knew of, but it was quite by chance! We'll go to the other place next week I expect, brain permitting.
DD and DGD1 are up north (the Scottish up north) this week where DGD is dancing. It happens to be where we lived for 8 years until 1984, so there were a lot of 'memory lane' photos on our Family WhatsApp. The house looks exactly the same as when we lived there but the school is now a search and rescue helicopter base by the looks of things!
Tai chi classes for me this morning then, as I'm down in town anyway, I shall do my fortnightly Tesco shop. So off I go. Have the best day you can everyone and keep the sunshine in your hearts sunshinex

Marydoll Thu 09-Jun-22 08:23:09

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow.

Lots of worry and upset today for some of you.
Sar, I'm sure it was your company, which was missed, nothing to do with not being Catholic. You had very good reason not to go, did you explain why you couldnt go?
Grandmadinosaur, I hope you now start to feel better and Baubles, fingers were crossed that the appointment went well. Lots of candles will be lit today, for all who need them.

Yesterday, my day of footering, became a day of being PA to SIL. Their house sale and purchase is all being done remotely, so lots of form signing to be printed, signed, scanned and returned.
I think I must have a buzzer in my bahookee, because every time I sat down, he appeared to tell me he had sent me an email with forms to print. Unfortunately I had problems with my printer and my printer wanted to send the stuff to DH's PC and printer instead. ? DH is useless at that kind of stuff, so no point in asking him.
Thinks got worse, when the forms had to be signed and sent back to the lawyer. My printer wouldn't scan. I had to reinstall it, but it wouldn't pick up the WiFi.
During all this, SIL sat and observed. I felt I was having an HMIE school inspection, because he works in IT at a very complicated level. That was until he admitted he didn't have a clue how to do desk top stuff and was interested in all my juggling to get it to work.

I wasn't feeling too great, (light headed and nauseous, heart related) so decided to have a quiet time in my wee room. DD arrived home from work, plonked herself down beside and proceeded to share all the woes of her day!
I am thinking of becoming a nun in an enclosed order, but I don't think I would manage the compulsory silence bit. ?

I'm off out to the 60th anniversary celebration of my former school and hoping to see my friend, an ex colleague.
However, at 69 she always looks stunning, tall and elegant, so I am now suffering from outfit anxiety, as I always look like a wee, dumpy, bachle, beside her.
We became a bit distant for various reasons, when I was shielding. It was partly my fault, because I was reluctant to engage with our group, whom I felt weren't as supportive as I had hoped. They had no idea of the impact it was having on my mental wellbeing and I of course, was too embarrassed to say..

Wishing you a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

brook2704 Thu 09-Jun-22 08:15:32

Good morning everyone from DD1s in Cambridge where it’s sunny and warm
I had a good uneventful journey down here yesterday and DD1 and DGS1 picked me up from the station. I was there by 4pm so nice and early too
Hope your DD is feeling better soon Sar and any family tensions settle down
Oh Ash what a run of bad luck you’re having, bet you could do without the stress but hope that’s the end of it for now
Today I’m just going to have an easy day, maybe sit out on their terrace with my kindle until the DGSs are back from school. Then it’s babysitting duties for the evening as DD and SiL are going out quite early for a concert
Hope you feel much better again soon grandmadinosaur
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take all whatever the day brings ?

ginny Thu 09-Jun-22 08:10:51

Good morning everyone.
A couple of jobs to do in the garden this morning and I must deliver a cake to the local museum for its coffee morning.
Sewing club this afternoon and babysitting this evening.
Wishing all a good day.

Gingster Thu 09-Jun-22 08:07:19

Good morning all and it’s bright and sunny.

Oh my goodness there is a lot of anxiety, frustration and worry on here this morning. I feel for you all. Life is very hard at the moment , one way or another. We too, find problems very challenging and overwhelming at times.

GG I do hope your Dh sees the doctor (if he can get an appointment) . My husband had a TIA two years ago and really hasn’t been the same since. He was put on stronger statins and his leg muscles have become increasingly weak. I made a docs app for him two weeks ago , as he wouldn’t bother himself. He has an app with a neurologist in a couple of weeks time.

Ash what a time you’re having ! ?.

We plan to go to RHS Hyde Hall today. We are lucky to live close by, so we go quite often. It will be therapeutic to have a wander around . We will take our flask of coffee as the two cafes are always busy. We find a quiet peaceful bench and enjoy the solitude.

DS1 flew home from Florida on Saturday and has tested positive for Covid. Feels rough and his wife does too but is negative. Must have been the flight home !

Sar enjoy your time away with your family. Leave your concerns behind .

Let’s hope the day brings happier news for all. ?

baubles Thu 09-Jun-22 07:53:53

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

Hospital visit went well yesterday, nurse was pleased with how I’m managing.

My lovely DD has arranged for a cleaner to come weekly until I’m able to do it myself. She didn’t want me stressing over DH’s idea of what a clean kitchen and bathroom looks like. She started last week while I was in hospital, DH wasn’t really keen on the idea but has come round.

What a lot to cope with all at once Ash, hope you have a better day.

That’s a worry for you GG.

Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Thu 09-Jun-22 07:47:23

Good morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire.

DH is doing a dump run and a charity shop drop off today. I think I might go to the garden centre as my indoor plants could mostly do with repotting.

GG not sure I'd be gentle!!

Greyduster Thu 09-Jun-22 07:41:35

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is out in South Yorkshire. Ash you sound as if you have been properly through the mill! I hope you have a better day today.
I tackled my energy provider yesterday about but increase they wanted to put on my direct debit. After a bit of a wrangle she put me on hold while she checked my usage and came back and said they would leave it as it was and review it in six months. Why can’t they check your usage before they get you into a lather threatening to slap another twenty pounds a month on your direct debit?
My plumber came yesterday to sort out a problem with the shower in our main bathroom, which had become too hot to stand under. It seems the cold water valve had seized. I told him it wasn’t urgent but he came anyway, had a cup of tea, we talked about DH, shared stories about walking the Cornish coast path, he showed me the latest photos of his grandchildren and then left. He used to be our next door neighbour here so we know him very well.
Today I’m going to attempt to wash the car. It is a big beast. I am a small beast, and I’m not sure if I can reach the roof but I’ll have a go! Nobody will see the roof will they?
Have the best day you can folks!

Urmstongran Thu 09-Jun-22 07:40:30

No Matt. He must be on holiday.

It’s gloriously sunny here, how lovely to wake to this! Good morning everyone from (my prompt says Ibiza - I wish) south Manchester. The trip home was very pleasant with no awful queues at Manchester airport arrivals - neither for passport checking nor the suitcase carousel. We unpacked completely once home, suitcase away and today will be spent loading the washing machine. Just call me Widow Twankey.

Whilst we’ve been away the council have put bedding plants in many troughs on the railings adjacent to the crossroad and another dozen or so on the railway platforms across the road. This gives the town a welcome splash of colour for the summer.

We went over the road for a curry last night. I had lamb madras and thoroughly enjoyed it but it did seem strange only being the two of us at the table! Luckily we had plenty to chat about - the holiday mostly.

We are home now until early August so I’m hoping for some sunny days.

Enjoy Thursday all who can. x

Scentia Thu 09-Jun-22 07:39:28

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun has got his hat on ☀️
I am on nanna duties today and will collect them from nursery at lunch.
I am off into town to collect a stair gate as DGD is a monkey and keeps going up my stairs, DGS never attempted it until he was big enough to do it properly!!
Monk my DH has discovered anxiety since his heart attack he used to be so stoic but not now, it’s actually sad to see.❤️
Have the best day you can today. Take care everyone and enjoy every moment of this sunshine!!

BlueBalou Thu 09-Jun-22 07:32:07

Good morning from a grey Welsh coast, it’s a damp start to the last day of our holiday.
DH and DDog went for a long walk yesterday, both are still sleeping.
Out for breakfast this morning then a quiet walk I think. Weather forecast isn’t too promising so will see how the day goes. I’ll start packing later and then it’s car Jenga to fit everything back in!
Off home tomorrow ??

GrannyGravy13 Thu 09-Jun-22 07:27:30

Morning all

Safe journey Sar53 enjoy time with your DD and GDs

Oh dear Ash things can only get better ???

The sky is blue here in S E Essex, I however am feeling red with frustration regarding DH (I use dear very loosely) last evening he informed me that he had another TIA yesterday afternoon whilst I was out, and he is refusing to inform Dr, or ring 111. He had all the classic symptoms, tingling, numbness inability to recognise/read words or recall names. According to himself as he is already in medication since the last kne he is fine ?????

Will ask how he is during the day, and gently suggest he speaks to GP

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Pittcity Thu 09-Jun-22 07:24:22

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Today's only task is changing the bedding and getting it on the line.
We'll probably just relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Love to all ? x
