Good Morning Everyone,
A bright and sunny start to the day here in brackley at the present time .
Today , I await a new mobile phone in the post .
Will do a local shop early , and I have started to use the air fryer as to doing Fish & Chips , I have taken the middle bit out which turns things, I put the Fish in the chips ,and give the battered fish a coating of oil , switch air fryer on , let in run for about 7 minutes , switch off ,and turn fish over with a oil coating and let it run for around another 7 minutes , the fish tastes better than using a deep fat fryer .
Take Care,
Mick

You don't really know me on here although I am a regular reader. I just wanted to say to MawtheMerrier that you should of course be proud of your daughter and her husband. It is no small thing to take on. My DS and DIL have had a sweet Ukrainian mother and her little girl staying with them for just two weeks. It is going well and my DGD is enjoying the company of the little Ukrainian girl as they are nearly the same age. I too am very proud. However, now that the excitement has died down, we are beginning to see a few little signs of trauma in the daughter so are keeping a close eye on her. Something to be aware of.

MawtheMerrier Fri 10-Jun-22 11:07:03

Good morning all.
Kindest thoughts to all of you with illness or family sadness to cope with. GN is a sobering site when I read of all that many of you are facing.
Feeling emotional as D and SIL are waiting at this moment at Birmingham airport for their Ukrainian guest and her little boy . They have gone to such lengths to create a lovely studio flatlet/room and bathroom for them and I imagine there will be a huge impact on their and the GCS’ lives. I couldn’t take it on but am I allowed to say I am so proud of them ??

A late Good Morning from a sunny but changeable North Leicestershire.

Nice to see you again kalu and sorry to hear your news.

Our cleaner is here at the moment and DH is at the gym. We are going out for lunch with DD1 before she starts chemo next week. It seems to be in fashion at the moment.

Sending love and hugs to all who need it.

Sorry - meant to say well done to grandmadinosaur's DH. A great achievement, and can only be good for business.

Taichinan Fri 10-Jun-22 10:01:59

Good morning Mick - aka Master of the Air Frier - and all. It's sunny and windy on the Angus coast today. I seem to remember the wind being a feature all last summer, so I hope this year isn't going to be a repeat
Ash, so delighted to hear of your DGD's success - she will love every minute of it! (And so will you smile)
I hope today goes smoothly for your DH grandmattie - my thoughts are with you as ever.
Kalu I remember you being a 'regular feature' when I first joined. So sorry to hear about your DH's diagnosis flowers but it will be so lovely to have your family with you after so long.
Tai chi classes went well yesterday as usual - but oh dear! Those men! I've been without a man in my life for a long time so I guess I had quite forgotten that in essence they remain a naughty Prince Louis at heart! They were particularly frisky yesterday - so lots of laughter!
Nothing happening today, so it will be a lazy pottery sort of day. I love those. Enjoy the good times everyone, and know that the hard times will get better x

Good morning everyone from the Algarve where it’s already 25°. Today is forecast to be 3° higher than yesterday when it reached a stifling 30°. So anything that needs doing should be done early but as I had a bad night which started with my kindle dying on me mid sentence I’m off to a slow start.

Oh well, it’s a public holiday here today, Dia da Portugal, I’ve nowhere that I have to be anyway.

Best wishes and hugs to anyone in need of them, sunshine

Good morning from a bright Durham - we’ve had a run of good weather the past few days, long may it continue. DD2 and family safely back from Majorca yesterday, the plane was on time. My reward for picking them up was an enormous bag of laundry. Had an hour with DGS1 afterwards, as his Mummy was stuck at work. As I still have DD2’s dogs here, I won’t go far today, local shop then coffee with a friend.
Hope all hospital/dental appointments go ahead without a hitch today for everyone. My DH never wanted me to stay with him for his chemo - I dropped him off and picked him up afterwards, but always saw the Consultant with him, as DH had chemo brain after so many sessions and 3 bouts of sepsis.
Have a good day. X

Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 14°C.

Mr. B is taking me out, I will read the thread later. Hope you all have a good day.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 10-Jun-22 09:04:00

You have my sympathy hollysteers with the train refund. I had the same such problem a few weeks ago. I seemed to go round in circles getting nowhere. I was like you and didn’t give up. I contacted the FB page and bombarded them with messages etc also e mailed them. When it was agreed upon for my refund it went through pretty quick. Fingers crossed you get it sorted soon and yes I do think they hope we will give up and lose the money.

Grannyme6 Fri 10-Jun-22 08:53:55

Good morning all and especially the Essex grans. I agree Gingster that RHS Hyde Hall is looking beautiful- I was there with DD and DGD last Friday, and even managed an early light lunch at the top café, with very little queuing. The play area was a hit with little DGD as well. Enjoy your visit there today GG13.
Best wishes for some joy in everyone’s day.

luluaugust Fri 10-Jun-22 08:50:55

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. After, hopefully, a quick Drs visit, we have our youngest DGS for the day. An unusual occurrence now so really looking forward to seeing him.
My DDs and DGDs all did ballet for a while and although they didn't continue my mum always reckoned it made them stand up straight!. So yes lovely news Ash.
Glad your DD is visiting Kalu.
Good wishes all round.

Grammaretto Fri 10-Jun-22 08:46:19

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Sunny and windy today. I'll try to get the washing on the line.
Thrilling news about your DGD Ash.
Better news from grandMattie. Take these small victories when they come your way.
Sorry Kalu flowers but great that your DD is arriving. Also sorry I won't see you on Tuesday.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Off to art soon, then practice with band as well as taking a bathing costume back. After trying on my old cossies, there’s nothing wrong with them and there’s no point in buying a new one for Ibiza just for the sake of it.
What a business trying to get compensation online for cancelled trains, I think it’s arranged so we give up. Well I won’t, I resent the high prices and poor service. Also renewed car tax and other boring things. Gardener came in the rain. My late DH used to mow the lawn In perfectly straight lines, looking out, it’s a wavy picture…
A neighbour’s cat had the audacity to appear in my porch yesterday and the weird howling mine mine had to be heard to be believed.
Happy frying Mick and will read all the early bird offerings later.

EkwaNimitee Fri 10-Jun-22 08:26:51

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny warm Carlisle. Must get out in the garden before the promised wind gets up. Apart from that, a bit of gentle housework and finishing the admin I broke the back of yesterday afternoon.
The podiatrist titivated my feet yesterday morning and we agreed the sore crooked toe must just be nursed along with paddings etc until and if it needs surgery (details of which sounded a bit grim to me!).
Happy news for you Ashcombe! , congratulations to your DGD.
I hope the day goes smoothly for you and your DH grandMattie and the after-effects are bearable.
And the best possible day to all.

Grandmabatty Fri 10-Jun-22 08:20:19

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 11°and sunny. Ashcombe huge congratulations to your gd. Kalu I'm sorry to hear about your husband.
Yesterday was a lazy day for me, after a few other lazy days. Today I'm looking after dgs2 for a couple of hours so I'm looking forward to it. Have a good day all.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Congratulations on your DGD Ash. My daughter went to ballet in Holland and after two lessons the teacher told me not to bring her any more as she was no good at it. She was 5!

Good to see you again Kalu but sorry to hear about your DH. Exciting that you family are coming over from Australia.

Just a small shop today and may pop up to an outlet up the road to pick up some shoes I ordered.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. Just put the bedding in the washing machine.
Busy day yesterday, did.some washing, then tap and ballet classes, and out for an evening group walk followed by a meal at the pub, where I managed to send a (luckily empty) glass flying. Had to apologise profusely as the lovely waitress cleared it up.

Off.to Milton Keynes.later this morning with a friend, who is looking to replace her fridge and freezer; she wants to look at the ones in John Lewis.

Take care.everyone, and have the best day you can.

Good morning all and the sun is out.

Hyde Hall gardens was looking it’s best yesterday. Lovely time of year with everything looking fresh and beautiful.

Today Dh has a dental appointment and Dd has her 3rd immunotherapy infusion. Her appointments are always late afternoon , early evening on a Friday, so the traffic is at its worst. Dh will take her and I’ll pick her up when she’s done! We aren’t allowed in with her.

Ash - congrats to your DGD. How exciting!

GM and Chrissielou hope the chemo goes well ?

Enjoy the day ?

GrannySomerset Fri 10-Jun-22 07:49:56

Up hideously early for me because I am off in a coach to Liverpool for the WI AGM. Should be a very enjoyable couple of days because I enjoy WI company and the content of tomorrow’s meeting will be interesting.

Still haven’t decided what to wear so most get a move on. Thinking of gMattie and Ashcombe especially today and everyone with a sad or difficult day ahead.
