I have heard in the last few days that my S’s stepdaughter and my God daughters daughter have both been awarded firsts in their degrees,
One Law and one Marine biology- I think!!
When I consider how their courses were disrupted by Covid and lockdown I think this is really good news.

Thank you all.
I really do include all those students who have worked so hard under never before seen conditions.
Here in Manchester ,students in halls really had a difficult time.
Long periods locked in.
Not the experiment students should have at this stage in their lives.
Congratulations to them all and well done in their attainment and their future.

It’s always good to hear of young people doing well, I’m sure they have a bright future. Thanks for posting your good news, it is in short supply.

I looked at the list of today's topics and clicked on yours first because my goodness don't we grasp any piece of good news just now. Brilliant young ladies showing that hard work really does pay off. Many good wishes.

What marvellous news, and so nice of you to share it with us all.

Congratulations to , dare I say it, two very intelligent and hard-working young women. (Is there some new, erudite, gender-neutral term I should have used?)

We are waiting, my son, a mature student is waiting for his results in Medical Microbiology from Bristol...all on point waiting. So proud of him, he hated school, left ASAP and then at 28 did a 2 year access course, followed by 3 year degree x

What a lovely piece of good news Annesixty, congratulations to the ladies for their achievements (I hope you pass everyone's comments on to them).
And to Treetops, keeping fingers crossed your son will soon receive his good news, and you will be walking on sunshine soon too.

It's a great feeling when they do well, isn't it. Congratulations to them both.
Students certainly have had a rough time in the Covid period. My GD also did law, and followed on with her Masters. It cost her £thousands for the final year of study, but most of it was done with minimal assistance from the University, while studying online from home. Tutors were very difficult to get hold of when she wanted to clarify something. Fees should have been reduced.
