Happy birthday, dragonfly. ???

Gingster Wed 15-Jun-22 07:47:51

Good morning all from a very warm Suffolk seaside. No breeze and the sea is so calm.

We had a lovely forest walk yesterday with so many flowering shrubs. Rhododendrons, foxgloves, honeysuckle . Magical.
Today we may go out for the day - perhaps walk from Iken to Snape along the river, have a wander round , lunch and then walk back. I hope DH’s legs are up to it.?

We don’t really see anyone while we’re here - only our lovely next door neighbour, our other neighbour moved into the town and the other neighbour and his wife don’t talk to us because we came here for just before Lockdown and stayed for 10 weeks.- we didn’t come and go, kept ourselves to ourselves and just hunkered down. We used to be very friendly with them , afternoon teas, bar b ques and days out , but they don’t even look at us now. ? . They are well known for falling out with people. ?. Oh well! ?.

I do hope everyone’s day is ok and grans with problems have an easier day. ??

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, interspersed with sunshine.

I'm sorry to hear things are not improving GM, I hope today is a better one for you both.
That is so frustrating for you Mick, I hope get it sorted soon.
Have you managed to speak to your GP yet, regarding your recent fainting episodes?

The Glesca Grannies, as always, was a great success, we are already planning the next one. We got thrown out eventually, as they were trying to close up! What a great bunch the ladies are. If you want to satisfy your curiosity ? and see what we look like, have a peek at the thread. Glesca Grannies
However our dear regular friends were sadly missed. Fingers crossed that our new members can make the next one.
Grandmabatty, I hope your day went well.
A special thanks to Grammaretto for her thoughtfulness, especially as I had been indulging in a little wallowing. ?

As I got off the train in Glasgow, I noticed a young woman on the platform, whose face was familiar, staring at me.
She was looking a me quizzically, as I tried to figure out who she was.
It was my new DIL on her way to her job at the Burrell Museum!
Silly old woman that I am, I didn't recognise her because she had her beautiful, long hair tied back and massive headphones on her head. Also she was in a place, I hadn't expected to see her. Well that's my excuse.
Its fortunate that I wasn't with my fancy man at the time.?

We have an unexpected empty again, absolute joy! I also have a hair appointment, which I now realise I don't need. I should have waited another week. My hair seems to be getting shorter and shorter.
I am absolutely shattered today, (and that is only my tongue ?)
as usual, I got carried away, by doing too much walking, but I had a great time.

Praying that all our patients in the sick bay have a better day and all those struggling find some respite and peace. ?
Have a great day, whatever your plans.

Happy birthday, dragongfly ?

Pittcity Wed 15-Jun-22 07:43:52

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another hot, dry day here.

I saw the strawberry moon last night just before I went to bed,*GM*, spectacular!

Wednesday ladies meetup in town this morning. I expect we'll be on the cafe terrace so I'm slapping on suncream and wearing a hat.

We had a language student from Naples volunteering at the charity shop yesterday. She asked if it was always so cold here in the Summer and why we stayed open throughout August. We explained that the 23° yesterday was the height of Summer here and anything more was a blip...she thought we were joking!

Happy Birthday Dragonfly and love to all ? x

Good morning all from an already warm and sunny North Leicestershire.

We have the Wondrous Wolfie today and are going on a local heritage railway. Before it was axed DH used this train to get to school and it runs close to his old home.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Greyduster Wed 15-Jun-22 07:03:42

Good morning, Michael from what promises to be a very warm South Yorkshire. I hope today is the day you get your phone sorted Mick! And yes, lots of water is a sensible idea in this weather.??
DD is coming over this morning to help me with a horrible gardening job. She’s very energetic. Just as well one of us is! I feel like a limp rag today, having slept badly. I would just like to wake up one morning feeling refreshed.
GM I’m sorry to hear your DH is struggling again. I hope things pick up for him.
Have the best day you can folks.

BlueBalou Wed 15-Jun-22 07:01:39

Good morning everyone, it’s a lovely sunny start here in Wiltshire.
Off for dog walk then starting a big clear out in preparation for next week when I’m having fitted wardrobes put in the bedroom, new flooring downstairs and a complete redecorate of the house- what was I thinking of…..?
I hope DH feels more comfortable soon grandMattie, it must be so miserable for him and upsetting for you ?

Grandmadinosaur Wed 15-Jun-22 07:01:12

Good morning all from sunny East Yorkshire.

What an awful wearing time for you and your DH GM

Enjoy your lunch out pantglas

As I’m not a driver I get the bus to my coffee morning on Tuesdays. One of the ladies offered to pick me up but I didn’t like to put her out. Wish I had as the bus didn’t turn up. It is an all too frequent occurrence recently. I had the same experience last week one day. DH was working from home but was on a team meeting call at the time I went. Ended up getting a taxi. I could walk it isn’t too far but left it too late,

No plans for today I have DH working from home as the office is being refurbished. I might sort out the airing cupboard and take old items to the textile bank.

This evening DIL and I are going to our local theatre to see Les Mis. It was a Christmas present from DS a few Christmas ago .. pre Covid? Looking forward to it. One of my favourite shows. I’ll be humming the songs for days after!

Glad to hear the Glasgow meet went well.

Take care everyone.

Sar53 Wed 15-Jun-22 06:45:10

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is already warm.
I arrived home early afternoon yesterday, unpacked and did a load of washing. More to do today plus we are going out early to the supermarket as DH doesn't do much shopping when I'm not here.
I hope you have a better day GM.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone, much love xxx

Ashcombe Wed 15-Jun-22 06:41:40

Good morning, all, on another bright and sunny one in Torbay.

Your poor DH, grandMattie; all this must be wearing for you both. I hope things will settle soon. Good luck, Mick, with the phone help quest. Enjoy your lunch, Pantglas2! Hentertainment sounds like fun! ? A lovely social day ahead for you, BlueSapphire!

This afternoon, we have a quiz at Wednesday Club then I’ll be back at the theatre to be a steward for this week's play, “Strictly Murder”. I'm looking forward to seeing one of our lovely youngsters from our Junior Theatre Club taking a leading rôle. I’ve known her since she was 10 and she has become a delightful young woman, now aged 17, and a talented actor.

I wish everyone a happy hump day! ?????

BlueSapphire Wed 15-Jun-22 06:38:20

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton, and set to stay like it all day. Shall do as little as possible.

Out to well-being Cafe after lunch, then an early dinner and then wine club this evening, which my DD is hosting. Looking forward to that!

Sorry to hear of your problems grandMattie, and hope things get sorted.

And hope.your phone gets sorted today, Mick.

May the sun shine on all today.

Pantglas2 Wed 15-Jun-22 06:04:56

Hola ? Mick and all from Andalusia where I’m lolling abed ? awaiting the chamberpot ☕️ which Senor PG is prepping....?

A Ladies Lunch ??with hentertainment at a local hostelry is this week’s delight and it’ll be the last one as we wend our merry way home to our north Wales nest early Friday morning!

Hope those still on their gallivants are having a great time and it was lovely to see the Scottish teams enjoying themselves yesterday - ??⚽️ . Wish Miss Marydoll had picked a decent team for England and Wales as she did for Scotland?

Kind regards for those with health worries, I do hope you have something lovely happen today ?

grandMattie Wed 15-Jun-22 06:01:06

Good morning from a bright, sunny E Kent. What a lovely strawberry, super full moon last night!
I’m sorry you’re still having problems with your phone, Mick. It’s so frustrating, isn’t it?
Another difficult day yesterday, with DH still being sick. It felt farcical as between us, it seems that every agency was calling the other and me, in an attempt to get the right medications - hospice, oncologist, chemotherapy unit, district nurse, GP, me…. He’ll be on new drugs, prescribed by the oncologist, as soon as the pharmacy get them in.
As well as all that, it seems that the driver wasn’t delivering the drugs as they appeared to pool under DH’s skin and not go into his blood stream. No wonder he was sick, poor man. I think it’s working now as he asked me for a cup of Horlicks when I got up. 12 hours ago, he was gagging just at the sight of a glass of water!
Hoping today will be better. I have a plumber visiting to see about a new boiler, otherwise nothing - here’s hoping.
I imagine the Glasgow meet-up went swimmingly.
Carpe diem. ????❤️

Good Morning Everyone,
Another sunny start here in brackley this morning.
My phone still exists , the Bicester store was not where I thought it was its on the outskirts of the town with other stores .
I have managed online to make an appointment at there Banbury store , later this morning hoping the Tech side can get my phone to work .
Cycling returns on TV this afternoon as well , so will watch .
I think I can cope in warm temperatures if I drink plenty of water .
Take Care,
Mick
