Good Morning Everyone,
Another sunny start here in brackley this morning.
My phone still exists , the Bicester store was not where I thought it was its on the outskirts of the town with other stores .
I have managed online to make an appointment at there Banbury store , later this morning hoping the Tech side can get my phone to work .
Cycling returns on TV this afternoon as well , so will watch .
I think I can cope in warm temperatures if I drink plenty of water .
Take Care,
Mick

Lovely sunny morning here so bedding is in the washing machine which is sprung a leak somewhere. Useful plumber can’t come till Saturday so will just have to keep mopping. Suspect the hose at the back has worked loose and I can’t move the machine myself.

Enjoyed quite a long video call with DGD1 who is a young leader at a summer camp in New York. She is enjoying everything (has a great capacity for this, like both her parents), has made new friends and is enjoying making music every day. It all sounds like quite hard work, with four hours violin teaching a day (her pupils range from not quite beginners to working on the Bach double violin concerto) and then playing the flute in the concert band. Oh to be 19 again!

Singing this afternoon and then hosting a book group this evening so had better check dust levels in the sitting room. Loving sympathy to grandMattie and those dealing with illness and worry.

Morning all from a beautiful and sunny West Oxfordshire. OH and I are going out for a U3A lunch - the first since the pandemic began. It’s WI this evening so I’ve been preparing things for it - I’m the Secretary. Younger son is home for a few days so he will generally relax, read and make sure the cats are ok! He’s their number 1 fan. ??? to quite a few of you.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 15-Jun-22 11:28:59

Good morning from a hot Oxfordshire, I did some gardening early before it got too hot to work outside, ironing to do now as we are going away Friday morning for a long weekend and I won’t have time to do it tomorrow, why MrOops booked a weekend I’ll never know, midweek would have been better, especially as it’s going to be hot and the place will be heaving, apparently though that’s just me being negative?
Hope everyone manages a few moments to enjoy our Summery weather, love to all xx

Good Morning to you all from a very warm, sunny Cambs.,

I start a "Diabetes Prevention Programme" later this morning, it's on-line, my computer skills are poor so hopefully I will be OK....!!

Happy Birthday dragonfly, enjoy your special day. flowerswinecupcake

Warm thoughts to you all, especially annsixty & those with added worries & problems.

Blossoming Wed 15-Jun-22 10:40:19

Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 17°C.

How frustrating for you Mick, I hope you get your phone problems sorted today.

I’m late up today. I slept soundly last night, so soundly that I’m beginning to wonder if they put opium in that medicine grin. I must hang the laundry out, I will read the thread later.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed.

My thoughts are with those going through difficult times, I hope today is a good one for us all ?.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 15-Jun-22 10:30:58

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful warm Hull. I Love not having to bundle up with clothes and coats and can walk out in a nice sundress.

I’m at the hairdressers having my roots and highlights done. So Good Morning is always a good read don’t need a book.
GrandMattie thoughts as always to you and your DH. ?
Grandmadinosaur the public transport is so unreliable isn’t it. Enjoy Les Mis I love this show.
Dragonfly have a wonderful birthday and enjoy beautiful Bakewell.
Auntiflo hope your DH has a lovely birthday too.

It was lovely to see the pic of the Glasgow grans putting faces to usernames. All very glam.

We are picking DGS up from school this afternoon and DS is staying for tea tonight as usual on a Wednesday.
Enjoy your day if you can. Hoping everyone gets warmth and sunshine. ??

dustyangel Wed 15-Jun-22 10:24:27

Good morning everyone from sunny Algarve. Glad the Glesca Grannies’ meet-up went well.

Happy Birthday dragonfly, I hope it’s a great day for you. ?

Best wishes for gM and her husband and also Baubles. I hope things better today.

Auntieflo Wed 15-Jun-22 09:55:25

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
It is a beautiful morning here, but absolutely no bird song. How weird is that?
Today is DH birthday. Also I see it is Dragonfly's birthday.
Happy Birthday to you.
We are going out for lunch, but nothing else exciting planned.
GrandMattie, so sorry to hear of the ongoing trials and tribulations that you and your DH are having to contend with. Let's hope today brings a better day.
Sounds as though the Glasgow GN's had a wonderful meet up.
Lots of emails to catch up on and then water the garden.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Nice day yesterday, singing then visit to pianist friend having heart problems coupled with worries over 98year old mother hundreds of miles away and v independent, but needing more care.
Off now to have my roots done, hardly needed, but going to Ibiza on Friday and jumping the gun a bit. The last time I went to this hairdresser, I caught a massive cold, sure it was there, so have my hand wash with me and keep hearing about people with Covid.
Thoughts to GM Kalu and all with troubles.

hulahoop Wed 15-Jun-22 09:44:42

Good morning all from sunny W Kent. Yesterday's hospital visit for DH went well and we await results. The drive round a small bit of the M25 was the most exciting/terrifying thing I have done in years! 6.30 in the morning not my best time, but needs must.
Happy birthday Dragonfly.
I am sorry about the medicine situation gMattie, I wasn't aware how bad things are getting until I was in the Dr's pharmacy the other day and the lady in front of me was told that they couldn't get calamine lotion anywhere and if she could find any in our town they would be surprised! I wish more was made of this than some other things that are going on.
Friend coming for a cup of tea soon.

Grammaretto Wed 15-Jun-22 09:06:57

Good morning everyone from the Scottish Borders. It's not very warm but as I have turned off the heating and have fished out my only summer dress it had better be a sunshiny day.
I am quite jealous of your heatwave darn sarf
I slept in a bit after all yesterday's galivantings.
Great to see some of the Glesca Grans. Honestly, we hardly stopped laughing for 4 hours. Who needs stand-up comics when Marydoll is at the party!
There was much sympathy for me and my electrical tales of woe and they threatened to come and sort sparky out grin

I'm invited to my DGC school concert this evening which I am really looking forward to. They are both performing.

How difficult for you gMattie with DH's ongoing symptoms.

Have a really lovely birthday Dragonfly It would have been my DM's bd too and I always try to do something with roses - either plant one or pick a bunch.

baubles Wed 15-Jun-22 08:57:33

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where, wonder of wonders, the sun is shining brightly.

Thank you for your kindness yesterday. I rang my lovely nurse who told me to come in to see her so she could check my bags. She has given me a different type of bag which, fingers crossed, will be much less likely to leak. So far so good, the night passed without incident.

A friend is coming to visit this morning, we should be able to sit outside which will be lovely.

Hope your DH has a better day gM.
Happy birthday dragonfly.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

Urmstongran Wed 15-Jun-22 08:21:29

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s warm but no sunny right now but some forecast later with highs of 21°C. We have an errand to run over in Stockport later (annsixty’s neck of the woods I think) and we’ve been asked to pick the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss up from their childminder before 5pm as their mum is being moderated (is that like assessed?) and won’t be home till late.

Once we get back it’s ham & egg salad - I’m addicted to radishes right now - then I’m over to the pub on the train station platform for our bi-monthly book club meeting. Handy venue for me ? We will be discussing ‘Small Pleasures’ which I thoroughly enjoyed yet probably would never have chosen it independently!

Enjoy Wednesday all who can and many happy returns of the day to you dragonfly! x

Beechnut Wed 15-Jun-22 08:20:09

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

A pottering morning and going out this afternoon. Think I might do an early weekly shop to enjoy the coming sunny days at home.

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday dragonfly ??

Take care all and don’t forget your hat ??

GrannyGravy13 Wed 15-Jun-22 08:12:23

Gingster I cannot believe your neighbour is still not talking to you.

harrigran Wed 15-Jun-22 08:11:42

Good morning from a dry NE where it is mild but not full sun yet.
Happy Birthday dragonfly, enjoy your day.
I had a quiet day yesterday just catching up with TV and resting my painful joints.
Loss adjuster has visited my sister's flat and workmen will be going in to strip the walls back to the brickwork and put dehumidifiers in. Transpires the upstairs neighbour has a shower cubicle in the bedroom that has been leaking, some leak as the ground floor flat below my sister had the ceiling collapse.
SIL is coming today and will take me shopping and help with any odd jobs that he can manage.
Thoughts are with grandMattie, I know what you are experiencing, my DH had dreadful sickness too.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 15-Jun-22 08:11:41

Morning all
A beautiful sunny balmy day is on the cards here in S E Essex and I also have an empty

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Jun-22 08:08:57

Happy Birthday dragonfly ???have the best day.
Brother in law visiting today from Belfast, long time no see for me, so catching up.

Happy birthday dragonfly
Lovely to see the pic of the Glasgow Grans. ?

Grandmabatty Wed 15-Jun-22 08:01:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's sunny! A pleasant change from the unremitting gloom of the last few days. 12° here and forecast to be a bit warmer. Nothing like as warm as people further south are forecast though. I think that would be too much for me. Take care and lots of fluids. Grandmattie I sincerely hope that will help your poor husband. Dragonfly a happy birthday to you. Marydoll how nice of you! It looked like a good time was had.
Yesterday I was involved in the interview process for a Head Teacher by acting the part of a 'difficult' member of staff. It comes much too easily! There were two candidates so it didn't last long. I made my feelings known about not doing it again, although I'm not sure they took me seriously. When I got home, dd and the boys arrived. Dgs1 had had his first sport's day at nursery and was fizzing with excitement and tiredness. The nursery put photographs on twitter (closed account) and it was lovely to see him running and laughing. Later a friend who I haven't heard from for a while and who I was worried about, contacted me so that made me feel better.
Today will be a visit to mum unless she cancels again. I will water the garden as, although it been grey, there hasn't been much rain. Bolognaise for dinner. Have a good day all.
