He was due to be the star turn in Doncaster at the northern Tories conference but hasn't turned-up!

I wonder why hmm

I can’t believe the PM is being criticised for supporting Ukraine.

Are people criticising him for supporting Ukraine? It seems to me that they are criticising him for neglecting to keep commitments here.

Unfortunately the PM has devalued his currency to such an extent that even if his intention is honorable.....which I hope it is on this occasion.........our learned reaction is to be disappointed by him and expect that he is lying/avoiding/spinning/gaslighting/cheating/distracting etc.

I cannot stand Boris but he has been a good friend to Ukraine-one of the first to help.

^I hope Zelensky will not listen to any of his advice^
I think you're wrong there. The UK has been more supportive than EU countries which are still allowing Putin to buy weapons with the money they spend on his oil.

Exactly

Is there another ethics advisor resigning or something else coming out of the woodwork? It seems that Johnson goes to Kyev when a disaster is about to break at home.

Well said Callistemon praise where praise is due.

Me neither. And I am not a Boris fan, most of the time I rant at the TV when I see him!

Perhaps posters should reflect on how their posts actually come across when they are taking the micky out of a Prime Minister visiting that war-torn and desperate country.

Exactly Vegansrock. There was good photo coverage of that visit by EU Leaders who said that they would support the status of immediate candidate for accession to the EU.
Johnson probably feels his nose has been pushed out.
I hope Zelensky will not listen to any of his advice. It hasn't done this country any good.

Yes, he's in Kiev.

lixy Fri 17-Jun-22 17:41:41

To be totally honest I really don't care where he is as long as he's not ringing my doorbell.

(OK, very hot and grumpy today!)

No, he’s in Kiev.

and his wife is at Royal Ascot today!

Good for her, I hope she had a lovely day. A bit too hot for me and I don’t have the right frock or hat so will have to be next year.

vegansrock Fri 17-Jun-22 17:26:44

He went for a photo op as he didn’t want to be upstaged by the EU leaders who were there the other day.

Riverwalk Fri 17-Jun-22 17:13:45

The idea that he's seriously interested in The North is a joke!

He should remember he's the PM of the UK, not Ukraine. Absolutely no need for him to go there just for a photo-op.

Putin is the one dragging us into war in my opinion. That doesn't mean I have any time for Boris by the way.

I've just seen him referred to on Twitter as ^Schrodinger’s tw*t^

He's off channeling his inner Churchill ...this balloon will drag us into war one way or another .His minders should keep him on a leash ,its not safe to let him out alone!!

I'm sure his plan to visit Kyiv had to be kept quiet for security purposes. Seems fair enough. I'm glad he went. It's a poke in the eye to Putin.

Kyiv, one way to get out of Ascot!

RichmondPark Fri 17-Jun-22 15:50:01

Strange that Carrie Johnson should go to Ascot. Doesn't tie in with her animal welfare work.

Farzanah Fri 17-Jun-22 15:45:51

Kyiv is the answer!
