Grammaretto Sun 19-Jun-22 18:03:59

Thanks Georgesgran. Not sure either but wish that person well.

Georgesgran Sun 19-Jun-22 17:50:46

Am I allowed to tell Grammaretto that our friend to whom she refers is on the norty step! No idea why or for how long.

Oh well, I’ve done it now.

Mapleleaf Sun 19-Jun-22 12:47:15

Good afternoon, all.
Rather late posting today as I’ve been busy cleaning the house and doing a few little garden jobs, so time rather ran away with me.
It’s brightening up now, with some blue sky, after a dull start.
Might have a mooch around a local shopping outlet shortly and stop for a coffee.
Thoughts are with you GrandMattie and also with you, Greyduster ??.
I’ve not read through all the posts yet, but send best wishes to anyone else with troubles and worries.
Take care everyone.

aggie Sun 19-Jun-22 11:58:32

Good morning everyone, it’s a tad chilly here in. Co Armagh! Spent ages tying up the tomatoes and cucumber in the greenhouse , attended online Mass , time for a coffe and a rummage in the freezer for something to go with cucumber and potato salad for lunch
Hope for a good day for gM and all our harassed friends xxx

joyce6135 Sun 19-Jun-22 11:36:37

Morning all, just to say Marydoll you made my morning, your life is so eventful, I will have the visual of you chasing down the street in my mind all day! Hope your Hubbie enjoys the whisky.

NanKate Sun 19-Jun-22 11:18:47

Morning Mick and All.

It’s cooler here in Bucks today off to NT Cliveden with a Father's Day picnic.

Marydoll I have just read to my DH about your escaping whisky bottle and he is rolling about with laughter. ? Thanks for that ?

Grammaretto Sun 19-Jun-22 11:03:53

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Still too cold for my liking.
I am a bit late today as have a df staying and have spent the last half hour trying to book, unsuccessfully so far, a concert for us to go to tomorrow night.
We had a great day at her DS's summer fair. I spent all my money but bought lovely things.
I may or may not mow the grass later when it dries.
Where is Urmston?
Sorry to hear the news from gM's DH's sick bed aka hospital ward
Well done all who picked some good weather for their holidays.
Kalu lovely to have your family all together on Father's day.

luluaugust Sun 19-Jun-22 10:14:51

Good morning from sunny but much cooler W Kent. Off to see DD2 and family with DS dropping by so busier Sunday than normal.
Good wishes to all.

harrigran Sun 19-Jun-22 10:03:16

Good morning from a very windy NE where it must be cool as the heating has come on. I had to get up at 2am and put some bedsocks on as my feet were cold.
Another first here, DC would normally visit to see their Dad but neither will be here today. SIL will visit but we will not have a roast, we are making a Rogan Josh.
I got a progress report on our sister's flat, they have taken down the ceiling and stud wall and put in dehumidifiers. They say it should be safe for her to stay there when she arrives on Wednesday.
DS is arranging DIL'S 50th birthday, he thinks we should go to a restaurant for lunch then all come back to mine for cake which he is having made. I will always get to hold events as they say I have the roomiest house hmm
Hoping for a better day for the poorly people.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s light cloud in my corner of Lancashire, currently 13°C.

I’m sat up in bed drinking my tea and listening to the birds. Not much planned for today, the laundry baskets are empty and the floors swept. I’m hoping to spend some time in the garden, weather permitting. We haven’t had any rain yet. I expect Mr. B will be creating some more laundry, either in the garden or in the shed. I’m sure he’ll find some mud despite the dirt weather smile

Thank you for all your good wishes, I have a few sore places but thankfully nothing major. It’s a tad disappointing as I had not had a fall for some time. Mr. B is in over protective mode once again…

Great photo Pantglas, I love lemon curd and like to use it in tarts instead of jam.

That sounds like a perfect day Hollysteers.

Hope Urmstongran is looking in on us, I’m missing her chatty posts.

Hoping FannyCornforth is recovering from successful surgery.

My thoughts are with those going through difficult times, I hope today is a good one for us all ?.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 19-Jun-22 09:38:31

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

Yesterday after going to the bank we got sandwiches and went and ate them parked up in the foreshore followed by an ice cream. So lovely and peaceful. Came home and I watched the tennis on Tv. Then we got a Call from DIL who had forgotten her key and could she use our spare one. She took it and off she went. DS and GS had gone to see the Buzz Lightyear film so wouldn’t be home for a while. Anyway the (rusty) key didn’t work so she trundled back. DG had her bottle but wouldn’t settle with anyone but Mum. She is a clingy baby which makes me hesitant to suggest taking baby for a few hours on our own.
Today we are all going out for lunch to a to a restaurant up road where the two dads can walk and enjoy a pint.
Hope the wedding went well Shazza you looked gorgeous.

Thinking of grans with poorly OH’s * GM* Kalu * Grannmarie* a poignant day today

Sounds just up my street Holly I love SE and the shopping there. I bought a few items when I was there.

Take care everyone.

GrannySomerset Sun 19-Jun-22 09:15:27

Sunny but very windy this morning. Church and later a friend coming for supper so had better inspect the freezer and decide what to offer her.

So sorry that gMattie has such unnecessary stress; life is needlessly difficult just now. Glad that Marydoll is keeping the neighbourhood entertained with her nocturnal antics though it sounds very tiring. Never a dull moment with her!

hollysteers Sun 19-Jun-22 09:00:05

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Ibiza
Lovely day yesterday shopping in stylish shops, designs and colours unique to this island, in fact I have brought only items bought here on my previous trips, then on to ‘hippy’ market, fascinating and bought earrings and DD silver bracelets.
Last night paella cooked by our host and a stroll round the pretty bay of Santa Eulalia.
Just relaxing, reading round the pool and possibly a bit of sketching. DS and DGD still asleep but I’m looking forward to my breakfast,
Thoughts to GMand all those on here with troubles.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. It was bright early on and a largely sunny day was forecast but it's getting darker by the minute. I've postponed a walk in the park until after lunch until it's decided whether to rain or not. I shall try to get out in the garden where things need to be tied in. I've also got some admin to do including claiming compensation for my train last Monday which arrived late, all due to a problematic train in Glasgow which resulted in its passengers being dumped into ours. I was lucky there because it had meant our seat reservations had been cancelled but as I'd made the effort to be first on at Carlisle I did manage to find a seat.

Have the best possible day all of you.

dragonfly46 Sun 19-Jun-22 08:56:29

Good morning from a brightish London.
Spectacular thunder storm last night and the air is cooler.
Not sure what DD has planned for us today so will take it as it comes.

Hope you have a better day Mattie.
? Urms.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Jaxjacky Sun 19-Jun-22 08:54:10

Good morning all from a fresher S Hants, we had rain last night.
Wishing a better day for those struggling, gMattie and Grannyme6.
Hope your bruises are not too sore today Blossoming
I have a birthday present to drop for my son’s GF, Tuesday is the day, some phone calls to make and yesterdays crossword to tussle with.
Happy holidays to those away ?
Father’s Day in many of our thoughts, my Dad is.
Hi to Urms ??
Enjoy today if you can all ??

Georgesgran Sun 19-Jun-22 08:46:16

Good morning from the bright sunny Durham. Perhaps I’m a cold fish, as yet the heat wave doesn’t appear to have hit us. Today’s plan is to take DD2’s younger dog home, then a visit to Newcastle’s quayside market with DD1 and her family ending with a local lunch, where we will meet up with her FIL. Later a walk with the older dog and a friend is coming to share a glass of wine in my garden, while she takes some cuttings from various plants.
One day gM I hope things will fall into place – at one point we had so many duplicate medicines coming for DH, that I could’ve set up a pharmacy.
A peaceful day to all, especially those where Father’s Day is more poignant than ever.

ginny Sun 19-Jun-22 08:35:24

Good morning. Not too bright in N. Bucks but an improvement on yesterday.

Nothing planned this morning but later we are going to DD3s where I will be looking after DGS for a few hours whilst DH is taken out by our 3 daughters. Son in Law is out with his Dad and our 6 yr old Grandson.

Hope today is a good one for all.

baubles Sun 19-Jun-22 08:32:01

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining but the sky is beginning to darken.

I was awake for several hours during the night then fell into a fitful sleep peppered with stressy dreams about going on holiday, not having anything I needed and tearing about trying to find passport, shoes, clothes. In reality I’m a super organised traveller so I’ve woken feeling quite discombobulated.

DD will be over at some point today but other than that it will be another quiet one.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday.

Kalu Sun 19-Jun-22 08:21:53

Good morning all from a sunny start in Glasgow but still a bit of a chilly breeze around. We have a clear blue sky where I can see the moon from one window and the sun from another.

I can’t remember when both our girls were here to celebrate Father’s Day together with DH, he will be so spoiled today by his darling daughters. DD2 and SiL returned from the But n Ben last night. They managed a visit to St Andrews and SiL instantly fell in love with the town as I was sure he would. Many photos of a beautifully sunny West Sands were sent to friends and colleagues in Brisbane.

Back to a busy household again today, tiring but lots of pleasure too.

Much love and best wishes to all for a good day making sure to grab some sunshine and happiness if you can. ?

Marydoll Sun 19-Jun-22 08:15:53

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its alternating between sunshine and cloud.

I have had very little sleep, due to the pain in my leg and DH's snoring/ grunting/muttering/arm flailing etc.
It wasn' t helped by having to go out at midnight to retrieve DH's Father's Day bottle of whisky, which I had hidden in my car.
The bottom fell out of the tin (it was upside down), it survived hitting the monoblock, rolled under my car and down the road! I was chasing it in the dark, (in my pyjamas), triggering my neighbours' security lights.
I do not like the world at all this morning! ?

I hope today is less problematic for you GM.
There seems to be a shortage of certain medications. My injections are being couriered tomorrow morning, I have none due to a worldwide shortage. The hospital were writing the prescriptions on time, however the home care team couldn't fulfill the prescription. It was causing me some anxiety, as I am due one tomorrow morning and I have none.

I have a busy day ahead, I apparently, I have been designated chief organiser for our parish celebrations today. The organisation won't phase me, but there seems to be a shortage of home baking donations. That is concerning me. A trip to Asda may be necessary.

Blossoming, I hope you are recovering after your fall, it certainly knocks our confidence.
To all our patients in the sick bay, wishing you a gentle day.
Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.

PS. Pants are you willing to share your lemon curd recipe or is it a state secret? ?

Susan56 Sun 19-Jun-22 08:14:47

BlueSapphire Sun 19-Jun-22 08:09:22

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton. Hoping it stays like it, as friends and I are.off to a nearby pretty village to tour their open gardens. This will be our fourth outing to gardens this year, and has been well worth doing. Of course there is always tea and cake somewhere as well!

Yesterday was pretty miserable, dull and chilly, with rain in the afternoon,. so my planned trip to pick up an M&S order did not go ahead, shall go tomorrow instead. I stayed in and watched the rugby final instead.

A man came to give me a quote for cleaning and sealing all the hard outside surfaces - driveway, patio, etc, so I am looking forward to getting that done. He comes with a good report from the daughter of a neighbour who had him do hers recently.

Hoping the sun shines on all today.
