Been in A and E 6 hours and not seen a doctor. Trying not to scream. Finished my book.

Quite worrying now not being able to be seen by GP or A&E. Hope you were sorted Lucca.

MawtheMerrier Sun 19-Jun-22 12:32:29

Tell them you’ll send the Grans round Lucca, we’ll sort them out. But seriously I am so very sorry to hear this.
Keeping everything crossed you get some answers and are on your way home soon.
It’s desperate isn’t it? Frontline workers working their arses off but the system is broken ???

I think GPs not seeing people face to face is as worrying as the situation in A&E. When our DD was referred, her face and neck had swollen like a balloon. Her one eye closed up. Her GP gave her as prescription without seeing her which was of no help. The next day it was worse.
The doc at A&E was furious with her GP. He couldn't believe he hadn't asked to see her on zoom, or asked her if her throat was closing up. He said she could have gone into anaphylactic shock and potentially died. It proved to be 'an allergy to a substance unknown'.
Just to add, although she didn't see the A&E doc for 8 hours, a nurse assessed her and gave her something which reduced the swelling.

Hope to hear soon that you’re sorted and back home Lucca.

Oh dear Kitty, I hope he's OK.
But it did give me a laugh.

Lucca I hope you're feeling better.
We would actually need a bag packed nowadays in case of visits to A&E. I usually take a cushion.

Kate1949 Sun 19-Jun-22 12:21:01

Poor chap kitty. I hope he's OK.

kittylester Sun 19-Jun-22 12:12:42

Keep us posted Lucca.

This might give you a grim laugh.

DH's brother has ra and recently came out of hospital after falling downstairs. Not the funny bit.

Last night he fell in their tiny downstairs loo. Eventually the firebrigade were called because he was behind the door which, therefore, couldn't be opened. The fire brigade eventually had to take the tiny bathroom window out and climb in that way. I realise that the event wasn't funny but burly firemen having to climb through a teeny window made me smile.

Lucky Our daughter was given an appointment after ringing 111. She was seen 8 hours after the appointment time. She had no money to buy a drink or a sandwich as she had rushed there so as not to be late for the appointment.

Luckygirl3 Sun 19-Jun-22 11:12:54

12 hours for me the other week!

I am so sorry that you are stuck there feeling unwell. I hope that you get seen soon and get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

What is to be done about A&E? - this seems to be happening everywhere.

henetha Sun 19-Jun-22 11:08:36
