Been in A and E 6 hours and not seen a doctor. Trying not to scream. Finished my book.

Hope it all gets sorted Callistemon. It is similar here these days, even with private health cover. Very frustrating.

Catching up Lucca, read it all and relieved you’re ok. NHS in difficulty but staggering on it seems
Callistemon - hope you’re soon sorted

Lucca

All ok. Approx 7 hours… but an excellent doctor and seems to be a not unpredictable side effect of my op on Thursday. Pain is less now but if it gets worse “just come back”. ???

Thanks for all your messages I feel I’m hogging the poor me section of GN. Maybe I should return to being a loony leftie on the N and P threads !(on second thoughts I haven’t the energy !)

I'm glad you're home now, Lucca and that it is probably just a side effect of your OP.

I took your seat in A&E today (2 hours) then was found to be an unsuitable patient hmm so was sent to another hospital's MIU; 5 hours later sent home, awaiting a clinic appointent now.
Boring isn't it ............

Lucca my neighbours had theirs on yesterday! I am a cold morsel and I did not need any heating.

Lucca Mon 20-Jun-22 12:20:39

Thanks. Looking forward now to my Aussie family visiting next week ! My DIL will no doubt want the heating put on !

Could be your gall bladder.

I have a different experience of A&E.
A few weeks ago, I phoned my GP to ask for advice on emergency medication I keep at home. Forgetting it was a Monday holiday, I ended up speaking to someone from NHS 24.
I was told to go straight to A&E, where an appointment had been made for me.
Withing ten minutes of arrival, I was seen, assessed and into a cubicle immediately, as I am CEV.
An ECG was done right away, bloods done and a canula inserted, "just in case" This was followed by chest x rays cand further tests to check my heart.
I had a full MOT done and was home seven hours later.
I know how exceptional that experience and humbled by the kindness and care I received.

Luccs, ?

Glad it wasn't too serious, Lucca. I hope you've been able to enjoy your evening! x

What a day Lucca. Do hope you don't have to go back though.

Glad you`re home now Lucca. Last year, my daughter was persuaded, against her will, that she needed to be in hospital. An ambulance came, we told them she hadn`t yet had her tea, they said she`ll be given something at the hospital. She was taken to A & E, and was left, sitting on a hard chair, on her own, for 18 hours, with no refreshment offered. She has severe rheumatoid arthritis, can`t walk or even stand, and can`t feed herself.

Lucca Sun 19-Jun-22 15:21:27

Have they got an MRI scanner?

????????

Hi Lucca

Firstly, I am glad it has worked out for you.

The reason I asked, quite possibly somewhat clumsily, as to whether they have got an MRI scanner is that I noted that you had written Seen a doctor all a bit if a mystery and having read of people where they could not find anything wrong and sent them home and then something was found, I was concerned that they might just send you home without having found a cause, coupled with the fact that you posted about having been there for 6 hours at a bit after 10 am implied that you probably went, or got taken, to hospital at first light this morning.

I was in hospital with abdomen problems several years ago now, pre-covid, actually admitted direct, straightaway, by my GP, and at first they could not find what was wrong, but upon putting me in an MRI scanner they found the problem, which diagnosis was acted upon.

So, what I had in mind, and I accept that I did not express it, was that if they were just going to send you home without knowing what was wrong then if you had asked if they could scan your abdomen with an MRI scanner then that might have prompted them to do it and that might have helped you.

So, I meant well.
