Good Morning Monday 20th June 2022
(45 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a sunny start with some cloud here this morning inn brackley .
I had plans on a bus trip to Banbury to buy some shoes , but when looking online and doing a price comparison , it was cheaper from another online store a pair being £30 cheaper as well ,compared to the High Street brand, mind you the other is also well known mainly catering for larger /taller types like myself .
take Care,
Mick
Good afternoon, Morningers, from a hot Argyll. I started to do some strimming on our garden's steep bank but it is in direct sun and far too hot* so I'll wait till the sun has gone round a bit.
*16º in the shade is tropical out of it.
Nice pics people have posted
TOYA xx
Good morning from coastal West Sussex. It was so dull yesterday so I am very happy to see a cloudless blue sky this morning. It’s breezy but cool - ideal for gardening and allotment.
We had a lovely mini-break with the campervan, visiting Constable country in perfect weather and ‘discovering’ the delightful market town of Hadleigh with many medieval and Georgian buildings and traditional pargeting designs on walls (I always think of Nigel Pargeter in The Archers when I see that term). Also visited Frinton with its £85,000 beach huts (seen in local estate agent) and Brightlingsea. A whole new area for us.
A new beginner Tai Chi session in an hour.
Marydoll it’s good you found someone who knows what it is like to have with RA. Sympathy is less powerful than the understanding of a fellow sufferer. I hope ongoing research will provide better treatments in the future.
Grandmattie wishing you strength and comfort ?
Thank you Maw, it was but we have no other choice than to take it a day at a time hoping, whilst aware of the elephant in the room. Forget the housework and enjoy the tennis. We all deserve welcome distractions away from times of sadness and to treat ourselves to a change of Groundhog Day. ?
Good morning Mick and all. It’s glorious sunshine in my corner of Lancashire, currently 16°C.
I had a very lazy Sunday, not much planned for today other than spending some time outdoors. A walk round the marina seems attractive.
Beautiful photos Gingster and BlueSapphire.
Hello Urmstongran, hoping you’re reading this.
Hoping FannyCornforth is doing well.
My thoughts are with those going through difficult times, I hope today is a good one for us all ?.
Good morning Michael and everyone, lovely sunny but fresh day here in Co Armagh .
Been in the greenhouse , picked a few of the small cucumbers , they are nicer than the large ones I used to grow
Washing machine is thrashing away so I’m on here while waiting for it to finish
Sorry you and your OH had another bad day granMattie
Take it easy Marydoll , are you safe to leave home alone !
It's a beautiful out this morning a quiet day today we had a lovely meal at daughters ,son-out law made some amazing crispy chicken .sending hugs to those with worries .Weddings sounded lovely Shazza and gwen.
A bittersweet day for you all Kalu - there will be others too who I expect are glad to see Fathers Day behind them . Sometimes the memories can be too painful.
So another day, another dollar. Good morning all - I woke up to clear blue skies, thee hours and two mugs of tea later it seems to have clouded over a bit, but is still sunny and blessedly cooler than last Thursday and Friday.
I have no definite plans for today but really can’t put off a general (major) tidy up and filing session. The spirit is willing but things like tennis on television have tended to waylay me.
Kind thoughts to all of you with hills to climb, there is much sadness about but clearly also great courage and love.
Wishing you all well.
Good morning everyone from a gloriously sunny Glasgow. How uplifting some sunshine can be as I sit in my she-shed for my kick start espresso listening to my favourite classical playlist. bliss. ?
DH slept quite a bit yesterday but was awake and feeling refreshed when our girls and SiL all arrived late afternoon with small gifts and cards to share Father’s Day. GD2 bought him a small peppa pig as a touching reminder of times she was cuddled up with Grampa to watch her favourite programme when she was a tot. Although it is difficult for DH to talk now, he hasn’t lost his wonderful sense of humour as he has written messages on flash cards which had us creased with laughter. A truly perfect day together.
Beautiful photos of sunsets. DD2 took some snaps of a similar sunset we had a couple of nights ago, bands of crimson with pale pink fluffy clouds.
Thinking of you GM and the needlessly stressful time you are both going through. ?
Hoping for sunshine and some happiness for all today, whatever it may bring.
Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. DH off to dentist again so will press on with housework as I get a lot more done when he is out. Piles of washing too. Enjoyed our day out yesterday with the family, lovely lunch DD cooked the main course and DS the puds, nothing left over.
I hope you do get somewhere gM and best wishes to everyone staying in or going out. I have very slim feet and a right nuisance they are!
BlueSapphire such lovely garden pictures. I love going around open gardens.
Gwen that’s a beautiful wedding picture. The bride looks stunning.
Good morning Mick and everyone from warm sunny Carlisle. I haven't been able to say that very often this year!
Today is the day to get stuck into the housework and laundry. I had the week off last week whilst away so it will come hard. I have a trip out after lunch...for my monthly blood-letting so nothing exciting there. I'm hoping these regular visits will soon cease though my iron may be on the up as DS1 has been feeding me up with beef most of last week.
I hope all of you with difficulties/problems/unwellness find improvements coming along.
Enjoy the day everyone.
Good morning from sunny London.
Taking dog out, then coffee with DH then wending our way home hoping the motorways aren’t too busy.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Morning all from a breezy, sunny S Hants, a good drying day so the machine will soon be on. That, cleaning and weeding is my day.
Thoughts with those not well and their families, may today brighten a little ?
Good morning all from fairly bright South Lanarkshire.
Pink skies, gardens, and a happy bride, what lovely photos to start the day.
DD came to visit yesterday, bringing her two youngest who played happily with our old Fisher Price dolls’ house which has been the favourite toy of all the children over the years.
Today we are going to drive down to the park so that I can have a little walk. I haven’t been outside the garden other than to the hospital a couple of times since I came home.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's 8°. There is some sunshine and it feels quite warm in my living room despite the temperature. Shazza the wedding sounds wonderful. Marydoll enjoy your empty. Fingers crossed for the delivery. Susan I hope your dh will do the drive home!
Yesterday was a very quiet day. I ended up feeling rotten. I have peripheral neuropathy in my legs and fingers as a result of diabetes and yesterday my legs were extremely painful. So lots of doing nothing much.
Today it is my daughter and son in law's wedding anniversary. They have been married for seven years. They won't be doing much for it as son in law is working night shift. I will gently potter. Have a good day all.
The pictures were there in the preview, so I'll try again!
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is set to be a sunny South Yorkshire day. Yesterday’s Fathers Day family lunch was very nice, and earlier, by request, than we normally eat so I waved them all off at six o’clock and sat back exhausted. Today I will potter, but will try and persuade myself that a walk might be a good idea later. Dinner will be bubble and squeak and leftover roast pork.
Kind thoughts and a hug for all who need them today.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a sunny north of Scotland. I am off to an early dental appointment. The “main” dentist has retired early and now there is a part time replacement. Appointments are like gold dust. After the appointment I shall meet a friend for coffee, sitting outside.
GM You are, as usual, soldiering on. I hope you both have some calm in your day.
Have the best day you can.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny
Northampton. Housework this morning then a trip to M&S Food this afternoon to pick up an order.
Spent a lovely afternoon with friends yesterday touring village open gardens; gave us a chance to be nosy! Have put a few photos up. Luckily it stayed dry, and we also enjoyed delicious home-made cake in the village chapel.
Hoping for another fine day for us all to enjoy.
Good morning all.
No particular plans today but I’ll find plenty to do. Things around the house, make some sausage rolls, ironing . Must also start thinking about our upcoming holiday.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Yesterday I did go to church then wandered down to a food fair where I bought a couple of samosas and a cup of tea so that was my lunch!! Then made my way home and baked and did some housework. It was quite peaceful with no TV blaring- Dh has it on all day!
At last DH arrived home, weary after a 6 mile walk and a present from DD1, just as I was about to serve up a meal, DD2 walks in with a present for her dad.
Hope today goes smoothly without incidents GrandMattie.
Hopefully a photo the wedding will appear!
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
No plans as yet for today will take it as it comes.
Some lovely photos on here once again.
Marydoll hope you don't have to wait to long for your injections and no trip to hospital is required.
Take care all best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday and may you all find some ?.
Good morning from Staffordshire.
The motorway was really busy this morning so feeling tired before the day has properly begun.DH slept peacefully beside me the whole way and when SIL asked how our journey had been DH said great?DGS is full of energy so don’t think I will get any rest today!
??to Urms.Hope you’re back soon.
Hoping for a better day for grandMattie???
Have the best day you can everyone??
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dry Hull. It’s going to be another lovely hot week.
grandMattie hope you have a visit from the hospice today.
Those pictures of the rainbow and pink skies were a treat to see.
The wedding on Saturday was lovely full of love and laughter. The bride’s daughter who’s 7 was a little star. She sang along to Perfect at the top of her voice during the register signing making me cry and made a little speech at the reception. She has some extra needs so it was especially poignant. The bride cried with happiness on my shoulder at one point it was lovely. We missed our other best friend but sent lots of videos and pics through the day.
Had visits from DC and GC yesterday. They brought DH wine and he got a chocolate orange which GD Shared with him.
This morning I’m going to a friends house for a cuppa and later picking up GS from school.
Hope everyone has a lovely Monday and virtual hugs for those with worries and illness. ??
