Also known as Decorate the Kitchen Ceiling with Goo Day when the whizzer lid hasn't been screwed on properly. We've all been there.

My current favourite smoothie is banana with Oatly Barista Milk which is really creamy. Yum.

I knew today was Worldwide Knit in Public Day and have been knitting in a pub garden with some friends. A few years back when two of those friends had yarn shops, we would use the day for a bit of street publicity. Sadly, neither business could compete with online suppliers and both went under but we still keep the needles clacking in public as much as we can.

Great idea for a thread!

Who would ever have known - today was National Smoothie Day.
It seems natural that the invention of smoothies coincided with the invention of the electric blender, which is a key component of making these delicious treats. Of course, it would be ridiculous to try to make a smoothie with a hand blender!
Health food stores in California, Oregon and other western states of the US began getting creative with blenders to create these tasty and nutritious drinks. These drinks may have been an alternative version of Brazilian recipes where pureed fruit drinks were common. Or, perhaps the goal was to provide a healthier alternative to the rather recent creation of ice cream milkshakes that came around a decade earlier.
By the 1960s and 1970s, Orange Julius, Smoothie King and many other companies had entered the smoothie market in the USA. In 1964, the official drink of the World’s Fair, held in New York, was declared to be the Orange Julius.

It was also Worldwide Knit in Public Day , apparently. But not at the same time I assume hmm

Tomorrow you can choose between World Rainforest Day or (wait for it). Chocolate Eclair Day!
