My thoughts are with you today annsixty anniversaries are hard . Mine on Friday we would have been married 44 years .But beautiful memories , my family 3 sisters and parents all come over to Germany from Wales in the car for our wedding. My mum realised that she’d forgotten the sandwiches and drinks and my dad drove back from Newport to the Rhondda valleys to pick them up ! There was no stopping at a motorway cafe then . Too expensive ? .

(1001 Posts)WELCOME. How pleased I am to be able to say...we have a new gathering place.
I love clematis Muse, what a beautiful photo. Grandmabatty I know I nag you but I see you are still feeling poorly and it isn’t improving. Please look after yourself as you always do for others and I hope you feel better soon
. Safe journey Urms.
Thinking of you today Annsixty he will be with you in spirit I am sure ?
Beautiful clematis muse such a vivid shade of purple.
What a difficult day for you Annsixty
Hope there is something to brighten today, ann, as well as the many good memories. Anniversaries are so hard.
Good morning all.
It is a very wet morning here, unlike this day 64 years ago when , with great excitement and happiness, I was getting ready for my wedding to my lovely husband.
This is the fourth anniversary without him.
I am sharing with you all because most of the people there that day are dead ,so no one to share memories with.
My AC may mention it but probably not.
I had a few tears last night but am ok this morning.
Many of us on GN will know my feelings today and to them I send my loving thoughts.
Just another thing you have to experience to understand.
May you all have the best day you can.
A late good evening to everyone. My new washing machine was fitted on Saturday and has barely stopped since our visitors all left on Sunday lunchtime. There was a massive backlog before this week’s washing plus stripping all the beds and now stripping them again! I don’t want to spend all my time ironing this week. I have an imminent grand baby to make a quilt for!
We had such a lovely weekend and everyone is getting very excited. Today though, it’s been a struggle to stay awake. Time for bed!
Good night all ?
Hello Kitcheners
What mixed weather we are all having. Sunday, we had rain virtually all day in mid Cornwall and today we are back to above 20 degrees and too sticky hot to do much. Hope you get some decent wet stuff soon Jax.
Excellent photo Blossoming. That's one for the Countryfile calendar. Brilliant.
Have a smooth journey tomorrow Urm. Good planning with the hall. Will they report to you across the seas?
Hope the sore throat disappears tomorrow Grandmabatty.
Our 6th Wedding Anniversary meal out on Saturday had to be postponed. MrMuse was not quite up to sitting comfortably at the restaurant. He is feeling much improved today with just the odd spike from the hernia area. My watchful eye is still following him around though.
Saturday turned out to be an emotional one following a very long call from my DS. His news had it's highs and lows. I listened and listened and tried to take it all in but it left me wondering just what to say but I did. Fortunately, I had the phone on speaker and MrM heard it all. A long chat with him afterwards settled me. It is a watch this space - I tell myself.
I planned to cut grass today but have no idea where the day has gone. Much time has been spent deciding on the colour of a sofa I intend to order this week for the new house and measuring the space where I'd like it to be.
My new clematis are looking fantastic and are now reaching a good height on the arch in the garden. They have taken over from the wedding day climbing rose.
Take care everyone.
Sounds horrid Grandmabatty might be covid, this one seems to wait to go +, whatever it is, I hope you improve soon.
Off to your home from
Off to your home from home Urms safe journey, we’ll catch you the other side. We had our decorating done in two lots while we were away on short breaks last year, painless.
You have such discipline Blossoming admirable, seems to be paying off too.
We had an Irishman’s house with no spuds this morning, a trip to the farm shop swiftly resolved that situation. Then I collected two ordered hanging baskets, my old ones are kaput; picked up a quiche for dinner and dropped some shoes to the charity shop.
Back grass was cut, the bit that gets less sun was vaguely green, hosepipe ban from Friday, out comes the watering can, mainly for the veg.
I’ve used an app to identify your flowers soop which I suppose is cheating, won’t spill the beans!
Enjoy the rest of your evening x
‘Evening All’
It’s chucking it down here.
I’ve eaten too much dinner (piglet) and feel uncomfortable.
I hate my Express lashes and can’t wait for them to drop off - little individual ones glued to the roots of my own. Being vain has served me right.
Bags are packed I’m ready to go ? ?
The hall is completely empty ready for the decorator next week it sounds so echoey!
My little Nokia phone has broken (no incoming call ringtone for some reason today - family kept saying ‘why aren’t you answering your phone when they tried the landline!) I’ve luckily found an even more ancient Nokia that used to be my mum’s ... wowzer, it’s clunky!
?
You’ll all be glad ‘Moaner Me’ won’t be posting here tomorrow as it will be late, especially with that ‘hour forward’.
?
‘See you’ Wednesday night dear kitcheners.
Hope you’re feeling much better soon grandmabatty sounds awful ?
Good evening Kitcheners. Thank you for your kind words. I've slept off and on most of the day. I've tested negative but have lots of disagreeable symptoms. The worst at the moment is a headache and terrible sore throat. I've hardly eaten which isn't a hardship! Lots of water and paracetamol have taken the edge of it all. Yiayia that is a gorgeous dog. I'm set to watch Miss Marple but might go back to bed. Have a good evening all.
What a gorgeous boy Boris is, YiaYia! I'm sure he'll enjoy his visit at your welcoming doggy hotel!
Good evening dear Kitcheners. I have been a busy bee too today, albeit at a slower speed than most people
. One lot of laundry washed, dried, folded and put away. A second lot washed and hanging on the airer in the kitchen. 45 minutes cycling ?♀️ done, I’m really enjoying it. 2 hours of Gaelic lessons and practice, which I’m loving.
Thank you for the kind comments about my photo, it was a lucky shot rather than any great skill. The best thing about digital cameras is I can take dozens of shots and just keep the good ones, rather than paying a fortune for films and developing.
Time to put my feet up and watch a video or two with Mr B.
I didn’t want to put you to any trouble soop by asking for the name of the yellow daisy like flowers but thank you so much for trying to find out. I thought at first it might be Rudbeckia but it’s out much earlier than up here if it is that. We e got a few of the white daisy type plants but the yellow is very bright and sunshine like and just gorgeous
Beautiful nature photos, Soop and Blossoming, thank you both.
Lovely dogs, neine!
YiaYia, I'm glad your BiL was able to Zoom call, it makes a big difference when you can 'see' loved ones.
Safe journey, Urms, enjoy the Spanish sunshine!?
I enjoyed a wee park walk with my sisters yesterday, then we went to early evening Mass. We had a visiting priest covering for our young P.P., who has Covid again, for the 4th time now. Hoping and praying for his complete recovery.
TOYA, especially those with worries or illness, I hope Grandmabatty is feeling a bit better.
I'm having a very lazy day today, I have ironing in the basket and a bedroom to clean and change, but I am just sitting on the sofa, reading through GN with Radio 2 on in the background....
Brilliant Lionesses. We cheered loudly. Wow!
I have been trawling through gardening books for the name of the daisy that grows so well in our garden. No joy! Have sent photo to a gardening pal. I shall report back in due course.
Naughtyneine I may be biased
but I think our lovely lot are the cream of the crop.
Morning all. I've been a bit tied up with childcare and work so didn't post. My best wishes to you all. Beautiful day here. Forecast was for twenty max but it's already that now so can see a curtailed walk for ddog later.
Having a small revamp of house. Off to choose new carpets and curtains. Slightly unnerving as I am not great at putting things together but it will be fun and something I haven't done for years.
TOYA
Beautiful photos of garden and wildlife. Thank you for sharing. I promise this week to write down everyone's name so I can respond individually. Can you imagine what a meet up would be like...I drifted off earlier trying to work out where would be sort of central...in the end the best I could get was Manchester. It was a lovely line of thoughts... So many people to meet...so much to talk about... Then it occurred to me..an afternoon...nay a day..nay several would not be enough to get to know in person all of Soops lovely kitcheners. Sleep well and peacefully all.
Some lovely pictures, soop your garden is stunning, I bet it takes some hard work to keep it looking so good. What are the yellow flowers? They look such a lovely colour
And that’s a very good picture Blossoming I’m sure it could win a prize - well done in capturing the moment!
That bit of rain isn’t going to go far Jax but hope the garden is surviving as best it can
Hugs straight back to you Soop, that includes Mr Soop as well. Those garden pictures have brought back some good memories x
Cracking photo of the woodpeckers Blossoming well snapped ??
