Helicopter ride for me. Wonderful views up over the bush in South Australia but I was very nervous. I once went sand surfing down a stonking great sandhill in New Zealand, ended up in a river. I screamed the whole way down, got a mouth full of sand but wouldn’t do it twice.

I went on the back of my brother-in-law's Harley motorbike last December, never again, thought I was going to die

Spent 3 weeks on a yatcht sailing to Greek islands. I was the crew for DH. Never again. I suffer from sea sickness and it wasn't like a "mirror" as I was assured.

Trekking in Nepal, mountain sickness and food poisoning, once in a lifetime? Yes, only once!!

Dunn's River Falls, Ocho Rios, Jamaica involved a climb up over rapid waterfalls. Every so often you were expected to go backwards into deep water although not advised of this at the outset. Then the 'tour guide' wanted you to pay an exorbitant price for the video they took of your humiliation. Never again - come to think of it ditto Jamaica.

High ropes and zip wire, I’m terrified of heights but I was persuaded to give the activities a go and won’t be persuaded
again ?

Water skiing... enough said!

White Scar caves in Yorkshire. Went with school party. Being tall I banged my helmeted head at every step despite being bent double. Ever after I nobly volunteered to stay with the timid children in the cafe at the top! ?

A gastroscopy without sedation. Horrible!

Going to the top of the big dome at Eden...terrified of heights but was persuaded...never been as terrified and wouldn't do it again if paid! grin

Not a dangerous activity, but when I was 18 I had my makeup done at a big London store, a birthday gift voucher from work colleagues. I took over an hour and when she'd finished I looked like a drag queen! Heavy foundation that made my face feel stiff, ridiculous false lashes, shadow and eyeliner, too much of everything! She was so proud of her efforts and kept telling me I looked wonderful. I went straight to the ladies room and washed it all off. Never again! Perhaps that's why I've very, very rarely worn make up since.

Any kind of procedure e.g. back massage or acupuncture which means I have to lie on my front with my head in a hole! Most uncomfortable!

Sweetpeasue Tue 28-Jun-22 14:28:50

Took a puff of my Grandad's pipe! Uugh!
Think I was curious and he was more than happy to give me a reason to never be curious again.

The cable car on Langkawi...the door didn't shut properly and I spent the whole journey down terrified that the person I was with would fall out. I couldn't walk when we finally reached the bottom. I also did the Shotover River Ride in Queenstown NZ early on a Monday morning.... Everyone said don't sit at the back but by the time I got to the front of the queue that was all that was left. I didn't most of the trip (which involved flying down the river and swerving away from the overhanging rocks at the VERY last minute) with my eyes closed and legs squeezed together in case I wet myself with fear!!!!!

Horse riding in France up and down steep hill sides for an interminable time, I was sooo frightened.
I could argue it was the height but if I were to swim in the glass pool connecting two blocks in London that would be a different matter…

Alcatraz, literally sucked any joy out of my soul, felt awful for several hours after. Very interesting place though

*Marmight*. That lunch sounded something else! Was it just any old submarine?

It wasn’t a submarine but a minesweeper. If it had been I would have foregone the lunch! I don’t do confined spaces or underwater ?. It was during East Coast Sailing Week back in the 90’s.
(Pic of me looking somewhat trepidatious before being cast overboard)

I have no idea what possessed me to agree to it. My husband was the driver and he had to reverse round a bend near a passing place to allow some vehicles to pass. I had to get out whilst he did it.
Going through the Southern Alps on South Island New Zealand was another hair raising ride. Arthur's Pass and the aptly named Death Corner. ?

Being driven over the Applecross cattle pass in the Highlands of Scotland. The views were amazing, I'm glad we did it but wouldn't want to repeat the experience!

It's an incredible drive, done it several times. But the one I wouldn't like to repeat was the one in thick fog where I couldn't see the road ahead of me for more than about 10ft.
fiorentina51 I wouldn't suggest a holiday in Corsica if you didn't like the Pass of the Cattle!

Lighting rockets at a semi-professional fireworks display.
An overwhelming and terrifying 15 minutes.
Never again.

Tattoo eyeliner! It took ages, was expensive, hurt and my eye lids swelled for several days. After all the swelling went down you couldn’t even see it.

Going to the Scilly Isles for the first time on The Scillonian, a flat bottomed boat, that rocks side to side as well as up and down. The weather was terrible gales and lashing rain and I spent most of the time leaning over the rail being violently ill. Now I go by plane.

There's a good reason for it being nicknamed 'the great white stomach pump'!

The London to Brighton cycle ride - just the thought of ever doing it again fills me with absolute dread

paddyann54 Tue 28-Jun-22 13:25:47

nadateturbe I did Newgrange too and was so relieved to get out of it I giggled hysterically for more than an hour after .I refused the rope bridge over the Atlantic even though the lovely attendant offered to escort me over and back .
I hated my one and only skiing trip never again .
I loved walking over hot coals ...so much I've done it 3 times

Hetty58 Tue 28-Jun-22 13:21:55

I love outdoorsy things, so riding, rafting, climbing, biking, skating, flying are just wonderful. Nothing claustrophobic though, no potholing or mining for me - and an ongoing dread of dentists and hospitals!

SueDoku Tue 28-Jun-22 13:06:52

I've skating. I went with a friend who went every week and loved it. Why I went I have no idea - I've always had no sense of balance (couldn't ride a bike etc).
I spent two hours mainly sitting on the ice, unable to even get up... At the end, my (thick, navy) school knickers were so wet that I took them off and went home on the bus without any on - feeling very embarrassed ?
Never again...!
