Hello!
So no time like the present…
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test; otherwise known as 16 Personality Types.
I first did it several years ago.
It’s very interesting (well, I think so!)
Here is the link…

Doesn’t personality change and evolve over time and is not fixed? We grow and develop and learn from our mistakes. I’m not the same person I was in my early 20s. I find the MBPT tends to oversimplify.

Yes you are right Grannyactivist. We do change as we mature. Mine as Defender was uncannily accurate now but I think it would have been different 50 years ago.

I’m an Assertive Protagonist.

Protagonists’ gifts include idealism, determination, and the ability to envision a better future – but they don’t just want to hear what makes them great. Protagonists are committed to actually using these gifts to serve a greater purpose.

I actually have developed since first using the Myers Briggs tests in my early career as a social worker. (The tests have also developed.) A protagonist is ‘a born leader’, which in fact I was not, but have developed leadership skills over time. If twenty years ago you had told me that I would found and lead a charity I would have been surprised, as at that time I had yet to hone the skills and experience I needed to make a success of it.

Architect. I recognise a lot of myself in many areas. Weirdly accurate I'd say. Interesting exercise, thank you.

I am a Turbulent Logician.

Who knew?!

I'm a virtuoso too- most of its correct, 94% introvert, although I have no practical skills at all.

CraftyGranny Wed 29-Jun-22 21:28:51

Potagonist here

Great thread

HillyN Wed 29-Jun-22 21:15:47

I'm an Assertive Virtuoso. So you/we can now be Billy Two Mates, supernanauna1 and AskAlice. Sounds a lot like me.

Redrobin51 Wed 29-Jun-22 21:09:22

I am an Advocate and the synopsis of my personality is absolutely freakish in its accuracy.

Shizam Wed 29-Jun-22 21:01:05

That was fun! Came out as a mediator. Which is about right. Friend used call me the cheesemaker! (As in life of Brian)

Sara1954 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:29:42

I’m not disappointed or anything, just really surprised, it doesn’t feel like me at all

Sara1954 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:27:48

Tried for the third time, really tried to be accurate, still came out the same, still really don’t recognise myself.

homefarm Wed 29-Jun-22 20:08:21

I come out as an Architect - my daughter says it's me to a T
Who knew.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 29-Jun-22 19:54:40

Another advocate here.

NainDylan Wed 29-Jun-22 19:52:23

I had been wondering what Myers-Briggs was, as I do online dating, and men sometimes refer to it in their profile, saying what sort of M-B personality they are.

Marydoll Wed 29-Jun-22 19:38:56

My DD has just done it and we are identical!!!

Wetnosewheatie Wed 29-Jun-22 19:26:47

You would a special type of person if you could command a cat

Wetnosewheatie Wed 29-Jun-22 19:26:04

Im an advocate. I recognise myself in the response

ShazzaKanazza Wed 29-Jun-22 19:10:32

I’m a defender personality. Which reading it I can see a lot in me.

honeyrose Wed 29-Jun-22 18:52:46

Another defender here. I’m pretty sure I did this test before and came out as something different though. Defender does seem very accurate for me. I love these sort of psychology tests!

Quichette Wed 29-Jun-22 18:40:34

ENTJ-T Commander, I see no others in this thread. I taught at University level and headed a State level government department during my work life. I have consistently tested as this having done this test several times. Nowadays I content myself with Commanding my household, DH and cats grin. We all know commanding cats is purely delusional ?

62Granny Wed 29-Jun-22 18:00:57

I came up as a defender and I would say reading the profile, yes definitely.

Maggiemaybe Wed 29-Jun-22 17:58:28

lizzypopbottle

I can't help wondering (curiosity features in my profile ?) if I took the test again right now, tomorrow, next week or next year, in the winter, at midnight rather than midday etc. whether it would come out the same...
Anyone tried it?

My post from this morning, lizzy:

I was a Defender 15 minutes ago. Forgot to save my results and hadn’t checked it out properly, so did the test again and now I’m an Assertive Logistician. Split personality, anyone?

I believe Defenders and Logisticians both come under rhe Advocate umbrella though?

Bea65 Wed 29-Jun-22 17:53:51

FannyCornforth well if I had taken this test just a few years/decades ago think the results would have been different..enjoyable exercise..thank you!

Bea65 Wed 29-Jun-22 17:47:58

[FannyCornforth] my result - Assertive Adventurer.. A Lion or a House cat.! Well..depending on my ever changing daily mood and sleep disturbances etc....Yes Lion's ROAR a lot especially when I encounter/hear see social injustices....when exhausted..yes could be a House cat..
