I’ve been meaning to do a thread about this for a while: Myers-Briggs ?

Hello!
So no time like the present…
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test; otherwise known as 16 Personality Types.
I first did it several years ago.
It’s very interesting (well, I think so!)
Here is the link…

I’m a logician.
I did it again with much more care, same result.
I honestly don’t recognise myself.

FannyCornforth

I’ve just completed the test again.
It was about five years ago that I last did it; and about 15 years since I first did it.
I’ve consistently been an Advocate.

Lizzie, there you go

I can't help wondering (curiosity features in my profile ?) if I took the test again right now, tomorrow, next week or next year, in the winter, at midnight rather than midday etc. whether it would come out the same...
Anyone tried it?

hicaz46 Wed 29-Jun-22 16:21:26

I'm a Debater which is about right. Always questioning and curious.

lizzypopbottle Wed 29-Jun-22 15:12:16

Good grief! I'm an adventurer! Who knew? Much of it fits, though...

Yes, It’s staggering how many Advocates are on here!

In one way, as it is rare, yes.

However, would people whose Myers-Briggs type that starts with an E be bothered with Gransnet? Would they rather be skydiving and that sort of thing as they get their Energy from external things.

Ditto, Shysal. reckon it's about 10/15%correct .
A perfectionist??!! Never!!

I'm an Advocate. Pretty much spot on!
I was a Union Rep at the largest Company I worked for, and eventually (after about 20 years) became the only woman ever to be elected to the position of Chair in 80 years. Sadly, there hasn't been one since, either.
Both before and after this, I was always the one that was asked to take a message to (or speak to) a Manager or individual, on behalf of others.

Yes, It’s staggering how many Advocates are on here!

springishere Wed 29-Jun-22 14:19:40

I'm an Advocate. It tells me I'm unique, but there seems to be a lot of us on here!

AlisonKF Wed 29-Jun-22 14:10:57

Debater here, which was pretty accurate when I was younger. Now in old age, I have to tolerate many barriers to getting involved with many activities. However, spending a lot of time reading and surfing the net for numberless sources of information are my chief pleasures. What I miss are friends to argue with.

kittypaws49 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:09:43

It's me to a T , I meant to type!

kittypaws49 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:08:43

I'm an Advocate. It's me to a T ! And not many of us about.

polly123 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:02:49

So interesting, thank you for this thread. I am an Advocate and find the details mostly accurate (Teacher, artist)

EmilyHarburn Wed 29-Jun-22 13:50:25

Good fun. Thank you Protagonist - diplomat.

pinkjj27 Wed 29-Jun-22 13:38:01

I teach Socail Sciences ( Politics, Sociology and a bit of psychology ). These test are nothing new to me, but this is one of the better ones: "Protagonists are born leaders, which explains why these personalities can be found among many notable politicians, coaches, and teachers., Protagonists reveal how seemingly ordinary situations can be handled with compassion, dedication, and care"
However, if anyone has ever studied Socail Science they will know, it’s a little bit more complex than most of these tests suggest.
I just think in a world where you can be anything we want just be Kind and tolerant works for me.

Missingmoominmama Wed 29-Jun-22 13:15:10

I’m an adventurer, and reading the traits, it’s absolutely spot on!!

pen50 Wed 29-Jun-22 13:06:46

Another logician here, which I knew anyway. A lot of other people baffle me!

choughdancer Wed 29-Jun-22 13:05:26

Another mediator here, and I recognise many of the traits in the description.

StarDreamer Wed 29-Jun-22 13:03:16

Congratulations, Fanny

missdeke Wed 29-Jun-22 12:59:32

Apparently I'm an entertainer, I did love doing rep's cabaret when I worked as a holiday rep but I can't really sing, i dance freestyle and can't imagine what field of entertainment I could have actually made a living at.

geekesse Wed 29-Jun-22 12:56:45

Ok, has anybody tried the Enneagram thing? It’s a bit more new-agey than Myers Briggs, but my previous employers used it extensively.

Sueki44 Wed 29-Jun-22 12:55:04

I was rather put off by the fact they spelled extrovert wrongly!

Bunnylady Wed 29-Jun-22 12:51:08

I'm a defender. And it's scarily accurate!
