Thinking of cooling off when the heat strikes???
MAGICOOL is the answer and I speak from experience here.smilesmile

Last year I suffered with the heat BIG TIME, so this year I told myself I'm not suffering AGAIN I did something about it, I researched and researched and had excellent suggestions for Magicool, which I bought, I used and I now recommend.

Yeahhhhh, the days of wilting to mush have GONE...

( I wonder if i would get paid for advertising??? Haaaaa )
?

Oh, Harmonypuss, I feel your pain.
It’s awful isn’t it.
I have a lovely garden with a lovely view, and I’d love to be able to sit and enjoy it.
I’m so envious of folk who enjoy this dreadful weather

I'm heat intolerant to the point of being practically bedridden if the temperature excess 23⁰C

Indoors I use an aircon unit or a fan with a bowl of ice cubes in front of it, a cooling towel around the neck plus plenty of fluids.
If I'm forced to venture otdoors I have to have a cooling towel around my neck and a spare in a plastic bag of iced water, a neck fan, a small spray bottle of iced water plus lots of fluids

I’ve got cooling towels I bought off Qvc and they come with a pack to store them and you can hook onto bags etc

Hi everyone, I don’t know if this will help but Magicool used to do two types of cooling spray one just to get your temperature down and one to deal with prickly heat, I think that it used to be in an orange spray tin.
They’re both excellent, seeing as I haven’t been to hotter climes since 2018 I don’t know if I’ll still be susceptible to prickly heat
hopefully next year hey?

Place a large bottle of frozen water in front of a fan and it’s absolute blissful

LibbyR Sun 10-Jul-22 14:02:49

You can buy in bulk online. I bought 6 cans last year for around £12 and I mainly use mine at night when I’m
too hot. My husband has got used to the sound of hissing which sounds very loud in the middle of the night. I store them in the fridge usually

Thank you, I’m getting some!

Well I have had advice to couple the Magicool with a hand held fan and i have tried it this a.m ( not in 40° I have to add ) and it was perfect, cooled me down a treat...

I have only tried the Magicool so I can only give feedback on that... smilesmilesmile

Thank you for thumbs up on Magicool! Which one is an all rounder please? Shall face temps of 40 deg in August .

Kittycat Sun 10-Jul-22 13:35:17

Boots stock cooling spray including 50ml size for £3.99. Been using it for years does the job lovely! And can order online but have to pay postage.

Treetops05 Sun 10-Jul-22 12:40:08

Jaxjacky

It is good, used in 40 heat and cheaper than the other one, under £5.

Can I ask where you buy it please? Looked online and it is £8 a can?

Years ago walking Samaria Gorge in Crete our guide suggested a cold water dampened T shirt round the neck. It worked.

I’ve used cooling towels for years. Small microfibre towel; , rinse in cold water, wring out, shake out excess water and voilà a lovely cool towel that you can place wherever you want. When it starts to lose its cooling affect, just re-rinse. These are brilliant for hot flushes too. As it’s a towel it doesn’t affect any air travel requirements, is lightweight & lasts for years. Wash in warm water when it gets grubby. On line at Amazon and other retailers.

I soak a t shirt in the sink, wring out and wear. Let it dry out and repeat. Cools quicker and cheaper than a spray.

Keep spray bottle in fridge or even freezer

Aveline Sun 10-Jul-22 12:18:36

Wow. So glad to hear such things exist. I'm currently sitting in a darkened room with a fan going. It's going to get much hotter too. I loathe this!!!

Nannina Sun 10-Jul-22 12:01:52

I have a Poundland cooling spray bought 3 years ago, 150 ml - still going strong and as effective as ever

TiggyW Sun 10-Jul-22 11:54:26

I’ve used cooling sprays for years, but they’ve been more difficult to find recently. They’re especially useful in hot cars. Magicool is dearer than own brands.

HeavenLeigh Sun 10-Jul-22 11:46:57

Glad you have found something op, but as I don’t like sprays especially perfumed ones, I don’t know whether that one is, I use a neck fan it’s brilliant has different speeds wouldn’t be without it, all our family uses them

Blossoming Sun 10-Jul-22 11:37:06

I’ve never heard of cooling sprays before, must check them out as Mr. B suffers terribly in the heat.

lizzypopbottle Sun 10-Jul-22 11:32:46

You might find it in the airport Boots once you're through security. Obviously not the Superdrug one.... although I've not flown from bigger airports for many years so can't say for sure that Superdrug aren't at Heathrow or Gatwick....

grandtanteJE65 Sun 10-Jul-22 11:31:16

Could you not just send us the heat? Dh and I can't get enough of it.

grannygranby Sun 10-Jul-22 11:20:46

I’m with you witzend. A plant mister from Homebase £1 and a smaller one in the car. Just use the body’s cooling mechanism to evaporate water on the skin (even more effective and longer lasting via silk or cotton). Instant cooling.
I bought a new couple of misters because I didn’t want to deprive my house plants, which really thrive on misting. They cheer up no end. And so do I.
