Will we see a break in the weather with storms?
Today , Tour De France starts its a few days in the French Alps , will watch later .
I have managed to get my stomach endoscopy rescheduled as a referral to my doctor, as I will hopefully get it done in August after my break in Harrogate .
Take Care,
Mick

Yesterday I was very busy looking after a spotty GS. Apparently he is better today and going back to school which he loves.
Welcome Hymnbook hope you enjoy our chats
Glad your goose went down well GM
You sound brighter today MD is that the Dollie effect?
Probably catch up on the things I couldn’t do yesterday with DGS on th rampage
Hope MrKalu is improving Kalu.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but warm Northampton. Had quite a good night but will swap my 4.5 duvet for the extra light 1 tog this morning.

Then a hoover round the bedrooms and stairs, an early lunch, and out to my health walk which I guess may be taken at a slower pace or shortened. Anyway, it will be good to have company. Shall get my legs out and don some shorts!

Then back to sit in the garden and read - did that yesterday afternoon after I'd cleaned the garden benches, which were full of spiders and their webs.

Gymstagran a sad.day flowersflowers,

Make the best of whatever day we have.

Grandmadinosaur Tue 12-Jul-22 08:32:42

Gymstagran sending a big hug to you on a poignant day ?

GrannySomerset Tue 12-Jul-22 08:16:46

More laundry - feel obliged to take advantage of the heat by washing bedspreads - and a cuppa this afternoon with a friend feels like busy day in this heat. Keeping the sun out feels so counter culture but it does help to make the house to comfortable.

Marydoll Tue 12-Jul-22 08:11:20

Gymstagran, a very difficult day for you and your family.?

Good morning all from cloudy Black country still very warm.
Think we are looking at a fishing venue today that DH is planning on booking for next year, he likes to checkout places before booking, so hopefully that will mean stopping off for a meal on way back.
? to any newbies safe travels for those on the move, best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Tuesday and may you all find some ?.

Good Morning from a dull west Midlands so far. Its the coolest its going to be today. A sad day today. My late daughters birthday. She would have been 49. Its the first without her. My son has asked me to go to his children's sports day. It will be a distraction and I will put on a smile for them. My son in law has a plan for himself and her girls which I hope helps them. It has to be got through.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 12-Jul-22 07:32:10

Morning all from what feels like a warm West Oxfordshire. I finally got home at 2 am. My flight was 2 hours late leaving Vienna so I missed my booked 10 pm bus to Oxford. The next one was at 1 am. But I got a National Express bus at 12 midnight which was going to Liverpool but was calling in to Oxford. OH picked me up at 1.15 am. My gardener was supposed to be coming today but sent a message saying she had cancelled all her work this week due to the heat wave. I shall enjoy catching up on all the Tory leadership shenanigans. I expect we all know that just 160,000 people will make the final decision on who our next PM will be.

Marydoll Tue 12-Jul-22 07:31:09

Good mornng all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's already 17C.

Dollie is coming for a visit today, which will give me a much needed boost. DH and SIL can be her besties and ready to jump at her every wish. I wonder how long her forward plan of activities will be today. It used to be a small sheet of paper, now it is a notebook! wink

I at last have my urgent endoscopy appointment in two weeks time.. I could have probably have had it earlier if I chose any hospital in the Glasgow area, but I am having it, in my local hospital, only ten minutes away. Less stressful and little traffic, apart from the fact that, at the same time, they will be closing the main road at the end of our road for resurfacing. There is only one way out of our development, I wonder how that will work!

It's good to hear you are getting out GM and your family are managing to find time to be together, Kalu I hope Mr Kalu is making good progress, he has no option, with matron in charge! wink
The idea of rehearsing by Zoom, made me smile Ash. As I have said before, I laughed till I cried at the stage version we saw.
Corner, I am sorry that you have a worry about your family. I hope it can be resolved.

Pants, I envy your day out. Sad isn't it! Because I couldn't get out, this week, I ordered a rug and cushion covers from Dunhelm and they arrived two days later! Now that's service for you!
My bucket list used to be, Vienna, Lisbon, Lyons etc, now it's Ikea, Dunhelm and the Range! ?

Wishing you all the best of days and hopefully an enjoyable and stress free one. one.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s sunny and warm. Yesterday was lovely at about 24º I don’t think it ever gets higher than that here!
Today I’ve got the much needed hairdressers this afternoon, I hope the salons cool with all those hairdryers going
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today even in the heat and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmadinosaur Tue 12-Jul-22 07:25:15

Good morning all from an overcast East Yorkshire it is 19 degrees.

I slept reasonably well considering the heat. I was on the go all day so that must have helped tire me out! I had a successful trip in to the city centre in the morning. After lunch I minded GD who once Mummy was out of sight was a little minx. She finally tired herself out about 20 minutes before DIL came to come to collect her with GS who then stayed with us instead of coming here today.

I’m going to coffee morning today and then the afternoon etc is my own. No meal to prepare as DH is on a works jolly to Beverley races. I could have gone too but declined.

Take care everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 12-Jul-22 07:22:31

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
For the first since moving in I closed all my blinds at the back of the house yesterday. I usually like light flooding the house but it worked to keep the house cool. We had a comfortable ish night sleep.
? to you Hymnbook welcome
Urms Matt is so funny today enjoy your day with your little ones.
grandMattie what a lovely evening you had so good to hear ?

Today it’s my fortnightly visit to my uncle in Bridlington to take his shopping. I’ve also bought him new shorts and tee shirts so he’ll have his clothes off instantly excited to try them on.
Picking my Mum up from her caravan and bringing her back home for two weeks. The sea air really helps her COPD so I’m going to suggest I take her back at the weekend with it being so hot. We’ll see.
Have a good day if you can. Hope you can stay cool. Thinking of those finding life a struggle. Hope everyone travelling has safe journeys ??

Pittcity Tue 12-Jul-22 07:11:14

Good morning from hazy Colchester. 30° forecast here today and with cloud cover it won't cool much overnight.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day and I can sit at the till under the air con.
Love to all ? x

Grandmabatty Tue 12-Jul-22 07:07:20

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 17° and has started raining. At least it will be warm rain. Urms that gave me a laugh!
Yesterday I had a surprise visit from dd and the boys. It is always lovely to see them.
Today dgs1 is coming for the day. He is generally a joy to have. I hope the rain comes to nothing as he will want to take his toys outside to play. There might even be a visit to the fish man. Whatever you do, have a good day.

BlueBalou Tue 12-Jul-22 07:03:11

Good morning everyone from a cloudy corner of Wiltshire, quite a relief from the sunshine for me.
I slept really well but feeling meh, a quiet day today, literally (no workmen here) and figuratively I think.
Hope you all have a good day x

Beechnut Tue 12-Jul-22 06:59:50

Don’t forget to X2 the hr Urm ?

Beechnut Tue 12-Jul-22 06:57:50

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Overcast and no breeze hmmmm!

So far I’ve been able to sleep at night but this heat is making me weary.

I did plan to go swimming this morning but I’m going to give it a miss and get on with an indoor job. I’ve an appointment this afternoon.

I hope you can enjoy your tai chi Mattie and that everyone has a good day ????

grandMattie Tue 12-Jul-22 06:45:16

Good morning from an overcast E Kent. It’s already very warm/hot.
We had a lovely evening eating our goose. Everyone enjoyed it. We played UNO afterwards, always fun…
Today, I’m going to tai chi and coffee afterwards. Not sure how long I’ll stay. There’s one lady who always makes it about herself, and who I find rather trying. My patience might be a bit on the short side.
I’ve just finished a book “Queenie Malone’s Paradise Hotel” which was an utter joy. Do try and find it! Urms especially.
Carpe diem, dear friends. ?????

Kalu Tue 12-Jul-22 06:44:51

Good morning everyone from an overcast Glasgow where the wind is picking up which doesn’t bode well for my plan to use the leaf blower.

A few phone calls to make arranging various appointments for DH, apart from that we will have a more relaxed day at home with DD2 who is with us for an extended visit before returning to Australia. DD1 and both GDs, although reluctant to go, we’re told we would manage without them so have gone ahead with their planned visit to family in the Highlands.

Hoping everyone has a good day and a better day for those who are having to struggle on.

Gingster Tue 12-Jul-22 06:42:29

Good morning all and it’s overcast herein Essex. Oh for some rain!

I’m up early as I couldn’t sleep with the heat, so me and little pooch are snuggled up on the settee, feeling quite cool at the moment. I will walk her soon before it gets too hot for her little paws .

Bridge club this afternoon and sorting out an overnight bag for tomorrow. Eldest gd and I are travelling to Herts to watch gd4 in her school play. She s been given the starring role of Matilda.
We’ve decided to go by train so I do hope it’s not too hot.

Welcome Hymnbook ?.

Safe journey to France Olddudders ?

Enjoy your day with GC Urms . It will be a long one in this heat. Water play and indoor pursuits maybe! I’m sure you’ll all be fine! ?.

Hoping you all have a good day. Take care ! ?

cornergran Tue 12-Jul-22 06:42:07

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is cloudy and still, we’re so used to wind it seems odd

A quiet day ahead, as we were out for most of the day yesterday we’re staying put today, we both have things to catch up with. Still processing an unsettling phone call from one of ours concerned for his children. Do we ever stop worrying about them?

My thoughts are with those finding life a struggle just now, hope Tuesday is gentle with us all

Pantglas2 Tue 12-Jul-22 06:37:14

Good morning Mick and all up with the lark this morning- you’re all a busy lot and I’ll be joining you with a trot to the Range, Dunelm to buy some adornments for PG Towers ? (why do we go through fluffy bath mats at a rate of knots….?‍♀️)?

Belated congratulations to the Gingsters and any other celebrations ?I might have missed and hugs ? for all in need at the moment.

It’s a little dull in north Wales at the moment- let’s hope Lauranorderr is on duty at the island weatherbarn and sends ☀️ over soon, I’ve gotten used to it now…?

MawtheMerrier Tue 12-Jul-22 06:35:56

Good morning all- I feel I have been here already (well some of us have, on the “Too hot to sleep” thread)
There is a little bit of hazy cloud above but I’m not fooled - it’s going to be hot.
I’m in charge of littlest fella while D snatches a much needed visit to the hairdresser, I think it might involve a lot of walking him around in the buggy . confused
D often walks him around in a sling, but that’s too heavy for me. Oo-er, wish me luck . He really doesn’t know me yet and as far as he is concerned there’s Mummy and “not Mummy” and he knows the difference.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and, if relevant, some relief from the heat ?

Urmstongran Tue 12-Jul-22 06:21:01

* peePing of course ?
