The chair……I can now see it!

I too cannot post a photo but my bedroom chair is so unattractive I don't think I would anyway. Believe it or not it has been around since I was a little girl and was one of our kitchen chairs back then. It is wooden with a plastic gingham seat. Until I started reading this thread I hadn't thought of replacing it! Anyway it hasn't got much on it - a couple of white bras dangling over the back because, as someone has already said, I wore them once (for half an hour) and they are too bl**dy uncomfortable!! My 'indoor' jog pants - going on as soon as I can summon energy to get upstairs and old t-shirt to put on too.
Clothes that I can wear again before washing get put on a hanger and dangle on the wardrobe door. If weather has changed and I get fed-up looking at them I sling them in the laundry basket smile
Great thread BTW - I don't remember one like it in the past and I have been on here for YEARS

I think I have a chair..... grin At least I do remember seeing one in the corner of the bedroom a few years ago, but it functions as DH's permanent floor-drobe, and is piled so high with his clothes, bags and "essential" stuff that I can't even see the back or top of it, let alone the seat or the legs.

And no, I'm not moving any of it! He's happy to pile his stuff higgledy piggledy on a chair, I'm happy to put mine away, so all's good. As for the question what one does with clothes that really don't need washing yet but are not freshly washed.? - his (of course) just go on the chair. I have a designated drawer for mine.

I have a wooden chest - not even attractive but passed down the family. I throw spare bedding (extra layers for cold weather etc), my dressing gown and the clothes I take off on top of it. It's years since I could open it, so I've forgotten half of what is inside.

‘Would someone tell me what one does with clothes that really don't need washing yet but are not freshly washed.?’

I have this clothes stand from IKEA saxifrage where those items lurk (until needed) behind the door!

I have two small chairs in my bedroom which I bought from a second hand shop for two shillings and sixpence in 1949. I painted them white and made new tapestry seat covers. They are never sat upon apart from when used when there are extra guests.

2 pics from me. One is where I have just unpacked a coat bought online from White Stuff ( in the sale). Not sure about it. The second is what was underneath it….. We are in the middle of redecorating the bedroom.

This one doesn’t have clothes piled on it as it is just behind Rosie’s bed and that might be a temptation too far.

The other one usually has a selection of jeans on it, but as I have been away, I did actually tidy up!
All my hair stuff (dryer, straighteners etc) which live in the basket beside the chair, account for the tangle of flexes etc

Oh dear Sago your thread caused me a lot of work and angst. My immediate thought was amusement, perhaps I could do a before and after pic. I have a very interesting chair - it is a cow hide butterfly chair carried back from Sri Lanka because it appealed to me. On it this morning were - 5 coat hangers, 2 pashminas give to me as presents in January but not yet worn, 2 bras, both worn once but not that comfortable but not yet needing the wash. a pair of jeans, a long sleeved tea shirt worn several times, a very warm cardigan, useful for cold evenings, ditto a purple fleece. Several pairs of assorted colour socks. I decided I felt too embarrassed to photograph all that, but I did put some of it in the wash basket! Would someone tell me what one does with clothes that really don't need washing yet but are not freshly washed.?

My chair is in storage! I must say, it’s blooming annoying only to have two folding chairs, which are needed at mealtimes. I can’t wait to move into our new house!

I’ll share my current coffee table with you, though.

I’m a bit of a neat freak I’m afraid

This is my chair. I bought it years ago from Habitat. I pile my dressing gown on it and spare cardigans. At Christmas it takes it place at the dinner table.

Emergency chair ?

Sorry, I am not tech savvy but my chair is piled high with books to go to the charity shop. The slight problem is they have been there before Christmas!

I don’t have a chair but in my bedroomI have a small occasional table that belonged to my grandparents! It’s about hip high and has a small lower shelf. That’s storage for excess coat hangers. The top is dumping ground for anything.

Haha yes I have such a chair, it’s an old Lloyd Loom one I rescued & renovated years ago when we were clearing out my Mil’s bungalow. I remember my DH saying at the time, don’t take that it will just get dumped in a corner with stuff thrown all over it. How right he was. However, it has also had its uses, it’s not too heavy so on occasions has been brought down & out into the garden when we’ve needed an extra chair & has been brought into the lounge at Christmas for the same reason. Your picture has inspired me to clear it of the clutter and perhaps put a nice new cushion on it.

I am a naturally tidy individual and anything put on the chair is removed quickly and put away.

Ha ha! Brilliant thread Sago
I don’t even have a chair, as the cat goes on it, so everything would get covered in fur.
I just have a pile

Pantglas2 Thu 14-Jul-22 11:47:56

Mr PG’s old laptop, trainers and rucksack were cluttering this one up until two minutes ago ?

Here is my chair in the bedroom.
I think many of us have one.
It’s never sat in but just used as a halfway house between the laundry and the wardrobe and a useful resting place for a plethora of stuff!

I have moved; gym bag, make up bag, deodorant, paperwork for a new appliance, many clothes, hair tools and finally the glasses I was looking for?.

Do you have a chair?
Would you be brave enough to photograph it?
