Emergency birthday present - help please?

It is my friend's birthday on Tuesday. I am away just now, and anyway she lives miles from me, so I can't just go to the shops and buy something to take round to her. I need to get whatever it is delivered urgently, and order it online.

I know she gets flowers from her daughters, so would prefer to avoid those. Does anyone have any good ideas, please? I'm looking to spend about £20.

Perhaps an Afternoon Tea Voucher for a restaurant near to where she lives or an Afternoon Tea delivered to her home.

A fruit basket? If you know she likes fruit of course. M&S do them and I'm sure there are lots of other places online.

Have a look on Moonpig. Small gifts and card all delivered.

A hand held rechargeable fan? Like this www.amazon.co.uk/TriPole-Handheld-Rechargeable-Foldable-180%C2%B0Adjustable/dp/B09X17MQDX/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Rechargeable+Fan&tag=gransnetforum-21&qid=1658052782&sr=8-3

Hotel chocolat chocolates or birthday slab bar via Amazon, direct from Hotel chocolat would not arrive in time.

Thanks for the suggestions, and any more are welcome too smile. I think Amazon is the way forward, as Moonpig won't get there on time.

My friend is a very fussy eater, so most food-related things (including afternoon tea, believe it or not!) are out, but a slab of chocolate is a distinct possibility. I will bear the fruit basket in mind for less fussy friends - it's a great idea.

Gardening Express online sometimes have indoor plants (or outdoor) for £20 or less. They have generally arrived in good condition in my experience.

If she likes coffee, maybe a voucher for Caffè Nero or similar.

There’s a great website called Don't buy her flowers.

Here’s a link.

The promise of a simple lunch out and country walk together?

Another vote for RedRidingHood’s suggestion. It looks like the mini fan I had delivered from Amazon yesterday. I’m really pleased with it. 3 speed settings and it’s rechargeable using USB cable. Can be hand held or the handle bends so it can stand.

I've ben on Amazon and ordered a pack of three bars of birthday chocolate. Sadly the HC one was out of stock, but the one I ordered will get there on the day and I could opt for gift wrapping, so the day is saved grin.

Thanks everyone.

My son ordered a fruit basket from M&S for my husband for Father's Day. It was lovely and took him by surprise!
He's been following Slimming World very successfully for a year so it was the perfect gift ?

Yes, they're very good quality aren't they, and a nice change from flowers ( much as I love receiving them, but with 4 children and limited vases.....) I also think in these very hot days fresh fruit can be an enjoyable lighter option smile

I called a "local to my daughter" greengrocer recently and they made a basket up and delivered the same day.
