Something (to eat) that you hardly ever buy, because you know you’ll only make a pig of yourself?

Thought inspired by the fact that I just bought a packet of Garibaldi biscuits - I buy them maybe twice a year.

Another is blackcurrant jelly cubes, which I just eat. Twice a year if that.

(People with iron self control who have no idea what I’m talking about, need not reply, thank you!)

Ginger nut biscuits, shortbread, oaty biscuits and cashew nuts all have extremely loud voices that just shout one word; my name. Have to shut them out of the house.

‘Sharing’ bags of unsalted Kettle Chips. I don’t share them grin. Not easy to find, which is just as well.

Crisps - just about any flavour but I do prefer the hand cut thick type. Tesco sell a truffle cheese, it's wonderful. I'd denied myself any for about 2 months as I was trying a non dairy diet. I gave in & bought the cheese yesterday...it's nearly all gone!

Christmas pudding - I love it, DH loathes it, so the net result is that I don't buy it.

But when next I do, I shall certainly make a pig of myself eating it.

I am exactly the same with Christmas Pudding, and each year I promise myself I will only have a small piece, well that has not worked as yet.
I also cannot have salted peanuts in the house or Picnic bars.
I have no self control with these items.

Antonia

Cornetto ice creams.

Any ice cream. If it's made with actual cream - I'm less keen on the chemical stuff, but any port in a storm grin. I really have to put off opening a tub of Haagen Dazs, as I know I will eat the lot in a couple of sittings.

Cafe Noir biscuits are my downfall. Kinda 'glad' they're less easily obtainable nowadays.

I am totally and completely immune to biscuits and only buy them if we are expecting guests. The one exception is Oreo’s. I buy them once or twice a year smileonly as I love them and cannot resist

Tunnocks tea cakes. I haven’t really got a sweet tooth. Don’t eat cakes or biscuits, chocolate or sweets but love these

St. Agur soft blue cheese in a tub

Fruitellas
I used to be very fond on Pringles until I read that they were so full of fat that if you lit one it would burn like a candle. It does!

Condensed Milk and a teaspoon - major comforter. Had to put one back on the shelf the other day. Felt very righteous.

SueDoku Tue 19-Jul-22 15:13:35

Pork scratchings (proper ones, not those awful puffed up snacks). Once I start I'm completely unable to stop until they've all gone...?

Alioop Tue 19-Jul-22 15:13:23

This is a pretty evil thread. I now have a craving for what everyone else has mentioned. I’ve been on a cut down for nearly three weeks now and it’s killing me.

Chocolate peanuts. What I wouldn’t give...

Good job there aren’t any in the house.

Lilyflower Tue 19-Jul-22 14:29:53

Mayisay, you have reminded me that my mother could not eat chocolate as it triggered her migraines and she didn’t like it very much any way. However, she loved Fry’s Chocolate Cream bars. Thank you for reminding me of my dear, now departed, mum.
