Something (to eat) that you hardly ever buy, because you know you’ll only make a pig of yourself?

Thought inspired by the fact that I just bought a packet of Garibaldi biscuits - I buy them maybe twice a year.

Another is blackcurrant jelly cubes, which I just eat. Twice a year if that.

(People with iron self control who have no idea what I’m talking about, need not reply, thank you!)

Cheeselets, they are small cheesy biscuits. Fortunately I can only get them at Christmas. I have been known to slap my husband's hand away when he tried to take some.

Coconut ice.

nadateturbe Mon 18-Jul-22 12:36:14

Me too Libman.
Also tiramasu and trifle.
Left overs would be eaten before breakfast next day.

Yammy Mon 18-Jul-22 12:35:52

Crisps any kind except cheese and onion.
Salted nuts especially cashews.
Bombay mix,
Cheese straws,
Any cheese except stilton.
Maltesers by the box
Chocolate raisins.

In fact, anything crispy and all aggravates my hernia so I do buy Gaviscon in 2-pint bottles when I can get it. My GC hide their nibbles from me I am worse than them.blush

Blackcurrant jelly cubes - where, where where?

Tunnocks.
Fruit gums, tho’ not so keen on the softer vegan update.

Ginger biscuits covered in dark chocolate

I used to limit crisps and croissants. Now I eat what I like, because old age is depressing enough without cutting out small pleasures. I’m enjoying myself while I still can.

pensionpat Mon 18-Jul-22 12:21:16

I never buy bog standard chocolate such as Cadburys, I can easily resist the expensive high percentage of cocoa solids stuff, not Cadburys, when my children were young I'd even break off bits of their Easter eggs if they were lying around for too long. Bad mother shock although they know me so well they will on occasions buy me a box of Milk Tray, then I have no choice, other than to eat it, I am at least magnanimous enough to chuck my husband some of the less desirable ones a fudge or two. I don't buy crisps either, I love all that really bad saltiness as well.

Biscuits, I'm ok with, my husband loves chocolate digestives and can grab four or so after dinner but he is very slim so he can get away with it, happily I'm not that tempted by them, but I wouldn't buy any thickly covered all over chocolate biscuit particularly Cadburys.

Nutella is something I discovered of late, I wouldn't buy it for my own children, I think I thought it was unhealthy to have on a regular basis, but have a large jar for the grandchildren when we see them every other week, it's pretty moreish a bit like peanut butter, I could never leave that alone after I first tasted it, Not something I grew up with and like Nutella I thought I wouldn't like it. Wrong!

Other than that crusty breads, pretty much any type, I do buy some when we are entertaining or have people to stay.

Doughnuts and various pastries, I steer clear just too delicious to leave alone sad

Chocolates, not bars but ones that come in boxes. I don’t buy them but we are sometimes given them. I can resist if they are not opened, but once opened ……. Gone.

And strong M &S cheddar cheese and their Blacksticks Blue cheese , I’m dribbling at the thought.

Tunnock's Milk Chocolate Teacakes and Farley's Rusks.

eazybee Mon 18-Jul-22 11:39:44

A box of chocolates: I bought some for a friend (honestly) and could not believe how much they cost.

Dee1012 Mon 18-Jul-22 11:39:38

M&S Percy Pigs....I love them!

DanniRae Mon 18-Jul-22 11:37:11

I cannot leave M&S potato sticks alone. They are so crunchy and tasty. I am ashamed to say that I like eating them on my own so I can shove handfuls in with noone there to suggest I might have had enough. I know that!!
I know next time I am in M&S I will have to buy some blush

Condensed milk. I hang my head with shame, I could happily sit down and eat a tin of it, I am not at all overweight, but I soon would be if I gave into this temptation. From the corner of my eye as I pass the appropriate section in the supermarket I have now noticed a toffee (or is it caramel?) version………
That is just cruel.

Purplepixie Mon 18-Jul-22 11:32:38

Baklava - yummy!

Auntieflo Mon 18-Jul-22 11:31:46

Condensed milk! When I found it in a squeezy tube, heaven.

Aldi's peanut Choc Ums. Very addictive

Another fan of Sardine and Tomato paste. Must buy some.

fiorentina51 Mon 18-Jul-22 11:31:35

Maltesers also chocolate malted milk biscuits.
I think I have a thing about malt going back to my childhood! ?

Gongoozler Mon 18-Jul-22 11:29:23

Doughnuts. Oooooh lovely,

HettyBetty Mon 18-Jul-22 11:27:49

Chutney, any sort. No idea how a jar only lasts a couple of days.

Hetty58 Mon 18-Jul-22 11:27:23

Nothing - as I buy all the things I pig out on quite regularly. Why would I limit myself?

Kate1949 Mon 18-Jul-22 11:26:07

Grannybags. I recently asked my granddaughter, who is in her 20s, if she had tried fish paste sandwiches. She said 'Yuk. No.' I made one and she tried it and said 'OMG Nan. That's delicious'. Her mum said "Give me a bite'. grin

Bizarrely sardine and tomato paste sandwiches.

Oh yes!
Also peanut butter, bread, pies. Most savoury snacks, fortunate to not have a sweet tooth.
