Something (to eat) that you hardly ever buy, because you know you’ll only make a pig of yourself?

Thought inspired by the fact that I just bought a packet of Garibaldi biscuits - I buy them maybe twice a year.

Another is blackcurrant jelly cubes, which I just eat. Twice a year if that.

(People with iron self control who have no idea what I’m talking about, need not reply, thank you!)

Crisps - just about any flavour but I do prefer the hand cut thick type. Tesco sell a truffle cheese, it's wonderful. I'd denied myself any for about 2 months as I was trying a non dairy diet. I gave in & bought the cheese yesterday...it's nearly all gone!

‘Sharing’ bags of unsalted Kettle Chips. I don’t share them grin. Not easy to find, which is just as well.

Ginger nut biscuits, shortbread, oaty biscuits and cashew nuts all have extremely loud voices that just shout one word; my name. Have to shut them out of the house.

Coffee and Walnut cake... one slice is definitely not enough!

Crunchy nut cornflakes. I had to stop buying them. When I started having them as a night time snack and afternoon snack I knew it was time to stop!

I forgot Maltesers - they’re lethal! I usually get a big box from dh at Christmas (when sheer piggery is allowed) but I never buy them.

Toffee popcorn ?

Ice cream fans, I can really recommend Sainsbury's own band Iced coffee ice cream. It is delicious and is on offer for £2 just now.

The Morrisons one is identical, I think, and is the same sort of price.

Three Musketeers Bars (tho inflation has now made them more like One Musketeer), regular M&Ms, chocolate covered dried cherries or blueberries. I binged on the Tudors and chocolate covered cherries years ago; and any chocolate covered nut.

Kit kats and chocolate raisins

A whole vanilla cheesecake.

Oh so many of those things!! I recently rediscovered jelly babies. I always have a treat in the cupboard for my little grandsons when they visit, bought a fairly big bag. He is only allowed a few, when he had gone I had one -then ate the rest. Also NEVER by a sharing bag of anything, they never get shared!!

My teeth aren’t so good these days, so only favour soft food.

Food in general but mainly bread and supermarket Lurpak!
Last week I had grandchildren staying and supermarket Lurpak was sold out when I went so I bought Utterly Butterly - it cured my bread habit very quickly ??

Fudge, oh dear now naughty is that? I love it and often bought it for Christmas and doesn't last long!

Witzend Wed 20-Jul-22 09:43:30

grandtanteJE65, We both love Christmas pudding (with brandy butter) so I always make 2 big ones that we’ll be eating up well into January, even if guests have made a big hole in the first.
Just as well they’re purely a Christmas thing!

Mince pies, OTOH…. I always make dozens, starting 1st December - never before, and I never buy any shop ones, always too much thick pastry for me, so again just as well they’re purely a midwinter thing. We do make pigs of ourselves for that one month.

Barrett’s pink & white nougat. Very common, I’m ashamed to be seen salivating over them in the supermarket. Used to be quite cheap and in monster bars, now ridiculously expensive and shrunk to half the size. Also custard slices. Ate two, one after the other and decided it was better than an orgasm.

Plain salted peanuts and Lidl sour cream and onion lentil curls. Any cheese with digestive biscuits. Fruit of any description. Sweet stuff doesn't do much for me.
