Thinking of you all grandMattie
What Coronavirus Quietly Taught Us (That We’re Already Forgetting)
Why Do We Ignore Small Health Signals Until They Become Big Problems?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry here in brackley this morning, but its also cloudy as well and showing 20C on the computer already .
Today , I must crack on with some housework , before I settle down to watch cycling on TV , to see if the 3 brits maintain there top 10 overall.
Take Care,
Mick
Thinking of you all grandMattie
Good morning everyone.
How beautiful GrandMattie. I will be thinking of you today, I’m glad that you have the family around you.
My DH is showering at the moment with pre-op scrub that everyone ensures him will turn him orange? I don’t know if this happens everywhere but no one on here has mentioned it before. He’ll be fitting in another one later before he leaves for hospital at lunch time to have a hernia operation this afternoon.
There have been so many changes about the details and timing of this operation that we haven’t known if it would ever happen. Now it’s scheduled most inconveniently the day before DD and SiL have an early flight home.
Because DH has kept all the dealing with the hospital to himself,I woke up at 5am realising that I didn’t even have the number of the hospital on my phone. It’s going to be a long day I think.
I think we maybe are a bit cooler here than many in the UK. But sitting in a shuttered house isn’t good for anyone and I find my glaucoma difficult when I’m outside.
Sorry this is a tale of woe, DH hasn’t turned orange this time round.
Good morning all. We didn’t feel too hot overnight. Windows wide open and will be closed soon as the sun is shining n the front of the house all day
My brother and SIL should have been coming today but have had to cancel as my Nephew , who has long term medical issues has an emergency hospital appointment. He is unable to drive so they will go with him.
We have DGS3 for a couple of hours so will amuse him indoors
This afternoon I intend to spend sketching and painting in my craft room which stays fairly cool.
? and thoughts wit Grandmattie and family .
Take care everyone .
Good Morning from Severnside. Hot here like every where else.
Will be thinking of you and the family today Mattie. The garden flowers are lovely ?xx
Thinking of you*grandMattie*on a poignant day. Garden flowers sound lovely.
Good morning from a very warm Leicestershire.
We are going ahead with our few days in Lincoln with friends despite the temperature there forecast to be 41 degrees!.
My thoughts are with Mattie and family today. You have such a knack of thinking of lovely ideas. I love the garden flowers and the rugby shirt.
Hoping every one can keep cool today.
Good morning from sunny Colchester where it didn't get below 20° overnight. We slept OK as it was in the high 30s at 4pm, so 20 was comparatively cool. Hotter today.
No charity shop volunteering today as there were next to no customers yesterday and it's not worth opening.
I'm popping to Sainsbury's early then relaxing until the cool of the evening. DH is off fishing for a couple of days.
Thinking of Grandmattie and family today and sending love to all ? x
Good morning all from an already hot North Leicestershire.
Choir this morning in the air conditioned library and then a pedicure in a tiny room - I won't mind if they cancel!! Then a Teams meeting at 4pm which will happen in our North facing dining room. We are lucky that our house is built of granite and stays fairly cool.
Sending love and gentle hugs to gm and her family.
Good morning all.
Didn’t think I would sleep but dropped off quickly to be woken by next doors car alarm. Back to sleep and once again woken by a barking dog. That’s the trouble with having all the windows open.
Just walked little pooch and it’s very warm already. Yesterday I managed to get a haircut in the local salon. Air con was lovely.
Bridge club has been cancelled so another at home day. Getting bored now.
I’ll see if DD needs any shopping and head to the air con in the shops.
GM - thinking of you today.?
Take care all ?
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Overcast so far but perhaps the hottest day ever to come.
I hope the funeral goes well grandMattie with family and friends. How nice to have flowers from the garden.
I shall spend the the morning in my cool studio. I have some youngsters coming for a pottery lesson
This afternoon blinds are being fitted in my bedroom.
I bought and applied factor 50 sun lotion yesterday for the first time in my life!
I hope everyone copes well with whatever the day brings.
Good morning Mick and All.
The flowers and rugby shirt for your DH grandMattie such a good idea. Thinking if you and your family today. ?
Good Morning Mick and everyone from London. Our hotel room is beautifully air conditioned so sleeping is lovely.
Just wanted to pop on and say I’ll be thinking of you today grandMattie and your family on the day of your DHs funeral. ? I’m sure you’ll be surrounded by love.
Wishing you all well ??
Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s 17 degrees said to go up to 37. I to wish it would all go away.
I was going to get up early to wash and dry my hair but I’ve woken up feeling tired still and lethargic. I need to look decent for coffee morning. I’d rather stay put and was hoping I’d get a message saying we weren’t going to bother today but doesn’t look like it.
Thinking of you and your family on a difficult day today Grandmattie ?
Sending best wishes to GrandMattie and her family.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an already warm South Yorkshire. I drove over to DDs yesterday afternoon and spent the night here, but I will leave early before it gets really warm. The back is much improved I’m glad to say. They say heat is good for sore muscles. My car seat was roasting yesterday - perhaps that did the trick! A day of shorts and a baggy tee shirt for me with lots of iced tea.
GrandMattie I hope the day goes well and brings you and your family comfort??.
Have the best day you can folks and stay safe.
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow.
Praying that GM and her family will find the strength to get through a very difficult day.
I too think flowers from the garden are a very thoughtful idea.
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.
Good morning all from the Black country 22C already, slept very well woke up by bin men 6.15am obviously making early start before it gets unbearable.
Hairdressers at midday so some nice air conditioning to look forward to, nothing else planned.
Thoughts with grandMattie and family on this difficult day?.
Off now to water the garden now.
Stay safe everyone and my you all find some ?.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s sunny and about 16º just now, but we’ve got rain forecast for later this afternoon!
Thinking of you and your family today gMattie ?
We’ll be looking after the DGC until mid afternoon and then home for a rest
Hope everyone stays cool in the heat, take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from a warm Torbay with a welcome Northerly breeze.
Lovely to have flowers from your garden for your DH, grandMattie. May the love and support that surrounds you from family and friends, including virtual ones, be a source of strength for you today and beyond. God bless. ✝️
We went through the whole of ‘Allo, ‘Allo last night, which kept me busy, between reading in as Le Clerc on behalf of DH, being a café customer and (most importantly!) making the tea for the break! In the afternoon, the wardrobe department sorted out my costumes.
Back to the theatre this morning to help put away the props used for The Mikado then our monthly committee meeting there this evening.
Take care and keep cool. ?????
??? for GM on this difficult day???
I awoke at 4 am and remembered I hadn’t done a particular piece of WI admin! I made a note and will do it after breakfast. I will blame the heat, of course!
As today promises to be even hotter than yesterday, I will do mainly nothing but look forward to the promised thunder storms.
A hazy start to another blisteringly hot day in Oxfordshire. I've already been out with dog for an hour and will start work shortly.
grandMattie my thoughts are with you on this difficult day, I hope you feel some comfort by being with your family. Your DH will walk beside you always.
Good morning everyone from Essex by the sea. The sun is up and another scorcher is on the cards.
I actually slept OK thank goodness.
Thinking of you and your family today Grandmattie, a very special day ?.
An early walk to the Post Office , a quick whizz round with the hoover and one load of washing and that is the extent of my exertions for today.
Stay safe, stay hydrated and stay well, love to all xx
Ooof! ???
Good morning Mick and everybody, what a night.
I dont want to read about, hear about or even think about it (the heat) any more, I just want it to go away.
No housework here, nobody to see it except me .
Spcial thoughts to GrandMattie. When Paw was buried we were worried that the forecast snow and wintry weather might make life difficult. How things change. May you and your family be strengthened by being together, by your love and your faith
To us all, a gentle day , keep safe !
Good morning everyone. We have all of the doors and windows open already. Yesterday was tough as the weather triggered DH’s conditions, but we survived to see what today brings.
However, there was great news from the wider family: a great nephew won a silver at the special olympics meet, and our granddaughter met next year’s teacher and found that she will sit next to her best friend next year.
No great plans for today.
Grandmattie, may the day ahead bring you comfort and peace. ?
Good morning. Slept ok even if I was on sofa bed leaving mine to DD and SiL. It’s not that hot atm, which is most pleasant.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. You really are a lovely bunch of people. ❤️
I picked some flowers yesterday to take to the undertakers later together with his England rugby shirt - rugger was almost a religion to him - to put on the coffin.
Hope everything goes well later.
Carpe horam. ????❤️
