Looks like the heatwaves finished.
It's gone cloudy with spots of rai .

In a strange way I think I'll miss it.

39c here. And it feels like the Sirocco is blowing off the Sahara.

Roll on tomorrow.

FannyCornforth Tue 19-Jul-22 14:49:50

37 degrees in Derby ?

micmc47 Tue 19-Jul-22 14:49:47

Still scorchio here on the North-east coast on Tyneside. 34 in the shade outside, but cooler air promised for tomorrow. I do hope so, as a comfortable sleep has been hard to come by, even with fans on full blast.

Just having a thunderstorm now in mid Wales, the temperature has already dropped by at least 5 degrees..

MiniMoon Tue 19-Jul-22 14:47:29

My kitchen Echo says 32° here in Hadrian's Wall Country. I believe it too. Been hanging out DH's work wear and the breeze is hot.

karmalady Tue 19-Jul-22 14:46:49

ooh my rain dance worked grin

crazyH Tue 19-Jul-22 14:42:29

JaneJudge Tue 19-Jul-22 14:40:54

our whole area is a desert

Still baking here, probably another hour or two yet. Went out to hang the washing out and it was like walking into a hot wall. There is a breeze and it's slightly cooler in the shade. But at least the sheets will be dry in an hour or so ?
Thunderstorms threatened for tomorrow.

Kate1949 Tue 19-Jul-22 14:37:31

Boiling and sunny in Brum. The forecast is cooler for tomorrow.

karmalady Tue 19-Jul-22 14:37:15

It is over for me too, in somerset, temperature has dropped and clouds have come overhead. I packed the ouside shading away and all my shutters are fully open, the plants will like that. No windows open more than a crack yet, it will have to be cooler outside for that but now 27 and yesterday it was 35

Good luck to those in midlands to east, you have a a little way to go yet.

I hope it rains here

Wonderful drop in temperature and rain in westcountry. Hooray.

Yes west country here as well.

ayse Tue 19-Jul-22 14:29:19

I’ve just had the window open as the house was very cool but I’ve closed them now. DH has just come in and says it’s too warm to work outside. There’s a good breeze blowing but it’s like a hot hairdryer and is a reminder of Turkey when the wind blows from the desert. I miss the heat of the SE here in the NE but this is just too hot to be outside.

snowberryZ Tue 19-Jul-22 14:23:49

I couldn't wait for it to be over. Now I miss the cheerful sunshine. Already!

37 degrees here in Yorkshire.

maddyone Tue 19-Jul-22 14:22:48

It’s really hot here in Hampshire. All the curtains and blinds are drawn in the windows that are sun facing. Fan is going full time on highest level. The kitchen is showing a plus 30 degrees centigrade and it’s not in the sun.

midgey Tue 19-Jul-22 14:21:00

Ooh I can’t wait! No rain due here.

B9exchange Tue 19-Jul-22 14:20:38

Where are you? Still very hot here in Hertfordshire!
