Good morning from a grey Black Country where it has rained overnight, much welcomed though.

A walk over Baggeridge Country Park yesterday, where it rained the whole way, but we all agreed it was much needed. Then over to take Mum for lunch where SIL and younger DGD joined us. Elder DGD was at Alton Towers on a school trip, and DD was still working at school where she was leading a teacher training day. They are flying off on holiday today.

Today I will go to the gym this morning, then relax reading this afternoon. I am reading Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce, it is very good so far.

Wishing Gingster and GG a very happy birthday wine cupcake

grandMattie Fri 22-Jul-22 07:39:43

Happy birthdays to GG13 and Ging. ????

Good morning everyone from a rather damp Northampton where we have had rain and more expected.

I need to go to the shops this morning to get the items that weren't available for my delivery earlier or that I forgot. Shall have a coffee while I'm out and a mooch around, then get back in time for the man who is coming to finish off the drive cleaning etc. He has done a really good job and everything looks like new.

Happy birthday Gingster and GrannyGravy! smilewineflowersflowerscupcake

And there’s more…..!

Good moaning!

A late start for me in an overcast Torbay. The evenings rehearsing ‘Allo, ‘Allo are catching up with me! It’s coming together well, I’m pleased to say. Making tea is one of my main tasks and, with a cast of about 20 (plus two directors, etc), that keeps me busy. I’m usually last to leave as I load the dishwasher then take home two non-drivers from the cast. Photos taken for publicity at rehearsal.

Today my car is due a service and MOT (?) then I’m lunching with a couple of theatre friends. Tonight I’m seeing my lovely neighbour from upstairs who is being forced to move out next month so that her landlord can sell the flat. Very sad but she has found somewhere nearby.

Happy birthday, Gingster and Grannygravy!???

Enjoy all you have planned, everyone! Lovely to hear of grandchildren's visits and holidays. ?????

Good morning from a cool, hazy Colchester. Today's high is forecast to be 20°, half of Tuesday's high. I'll need to wear a cardi! Still no significant rain though.
No plans here except a trip to Lidl and laundry as DS has just walked in the door for the weekend. He dumped his washing and went to bed.

Happy birthday to the Gs and love to all ? x

Grandmabatty Fri 22-Jul-22 07:32:23

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and grey. I had a horrible nights sleep. According to the Fitbit, I had five hours but they were very restless ones. Happy birthday to Gingster and grannygravy. May you both have a lovely day.
Yesterday I had an unexpected visit from dd and the boys. It was so nice to see them. Dgs1 wanted to speak to my neighbour as he could hear him talking. He's nosy, like his grandma. I had to interpret as dgs1 became uncharacteristically shy and my neighbour is deaf. His wife came to say hello then disappeared into the house. I was holding dgs1 up to speak when she reappeared with a massive toy fire engine and gave it to dgs1. Her great grandson didn't play with it. Dgs1 was in seventh heaven! What lovely neighbours I have. Half of the toys in my garden have been donated by neighbours.
Today I will go to Aldi for food. My headache subsided yesterday but I still feel a bit muzzy so I'll mainly potter. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Essex by the sea. It's a cooler day today, haircut for me this morning.
A very Happy Birthday to Gingster and GG13, enjoy the day and I too am looking forward to meeting up in September .
Have a fabulous Friday everyone xx

cornergran Fri 22-Jul-22 07:26:52

Happy birthday grannygravy. Enjoy your day.

Urmstongran Fri 22-Jul-22 07:23:31

No Matt. Is it summer holiday time? Perhaps he likes to coincide with the upcoming HoC recess.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s quite chilly and grey. The Boy Wonder and L’il Miss break up from school today and, tying in nicely, so does their mum from another Trafford School. Six weeks spent together with a fortnight in Malaga (following us out, yay!) in the middle.

My stepfather had to have a repeat kidney function test yesterday. He has no symptoms but I’m slightly concerned. However, he’s not in the least so we just have to wait for his result. He’s still off to his club this evening meeting up with his friends for a couple of pints!

Greyduster Fri 22-Jul-22 07:23:15

Happy birthday GrannyGravy???!

cornergran Fri 22-Jul-22 07:21:38

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset

No rain here, a surprise as Mr C bought shorts! A matchstick day for me, little sleep. Will trundle off to a charity shop with a large bag of this and that, have a bit of a walk and hope to wake up.

Happy birthday gingster, Enjoy your day. Happy holiday greyd and anyone else off on their hols. Kind new friends grandmattie, hope you enjoy their company.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Jaxjacky Fri 22-Jul-22 07:19:08

Happy Birthday GrannyGravy ??? a brace today.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 22-Jul-22 07:18:46

Happy Birthday Grannygravy too ??

Grandmadinosaur Fri 22-Jul-22 07:18:09

Good morning all from East Yorkshire where it is a grey skied start to the day.

Happy birthday Gingster hope it’s a great day ??

Yesterday was our last after school with GS and as a treat we took him to a nearby pub with an indoor play area. There must have been a fault with the machines as him and the other children kept returning to there tables with handfuls of toys from the grabber ones that it’s very hard to win usually! He ended up with 4 soft toys and a handful of lollipops from another. All this and we hadn’t put a penny in any of them. He was a happy boy!

No plans today yet. DH is quite busy at the moment his day changes by the hour but I’m hoping we can pop out for a coffee at some point. Then I have an online shop delivery late this afternoon.

I also like to watch the TDF for the scenery. How they managed in the heat on Tuesday - I really felt for them.

Take care everyone.

Marydoll Fri 22-Jul-22 07:17:28

Happy birthday to GG too! ????, have a lovely day.
Gingster, I hope all goes well with your daughter. ?

merlotgran Fri 22-Jul-22 07:15:54

Good morning everyone from a cloudy south coast. I’m off early to water the allotment before the pressure gets too low. The tide is in so it means a longer walk from where I can park. Never mind. The walk will do me good.

Hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

Marydoll Fri 22-Jul-22 07:15:27

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's currently 13°C .

I don't have plans to do much today, apart from some overdue church admin, which I have been putting off. I planned to do some last night, but DS2 turned up unexpectedly, which was a lovely surprise.
I haven't seen him since he and DIL had Covid and they were wary of coming near me, even once they felt better.
I thought he had come to check up on his ailing mother, but I suspect that he was actually avoiding his wife and MIL, who were making a birthday cake for his FIL and niece, who share a birthday. ? Their cake creations are absolutely amazing!

I had a very pleasant morning out, with DH, ( no grumpiness at all ?), which ended with a very tasty fish tea.
DH was getting his shingles jag in the leisure centre, so I decided to visit the little boutique, beside it.
I thought I had died and gone to heaven, it was just like an Italian clothes shop. I think the two assistants thought I was some, crazy old woman, as I gave them my life story.
I explained that I used to visit it, when I was looking for expensive, , but beautiful shoes for Dollie. They burst out laughing and said it It hadn't been a shoe shop for over three years!
I said, that didn't get out much!?
The clothing was a bit expensive, but I forced myself to buy a sale top, I couldn't resist. ?

I did however, overdo things and my abdominal pain flared up badly, ( I never learn) , so we went home, where I promptly fell asleep. ????

Glad to see your friends are looking after you, GM and sending birthday wishes to Gingster.????
Enjoy your day everyone, whatever your plans.

Gingster Fri 22-Jul-22 07:15:05

Good morning all and Thankyou for my birthday wishes.
And of course GrannyGravy as it’s your birthday too. ???.
Have a lovely day and yes I’m looking forward to our meet up!

Today we will have lunch at DH’s golf club and support DD with her 4th immunotherapy infusion. First one to be administered at home. We’ll look after little DGD until it’s all done!

Had a lovely day with little one at Hyde Hall yesterday. It really is a lovely place to visit.

Hoping you all have a good day. ?

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 22-Jul-22 07:15:04

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I haven’t peeked outside yet so no idea what the weather is like! I will be getting up soon to take my alendronic acid tablet - just one more then that’s it! It is the final two lectures of my V&A course on the Edwardians this morning. It has been an excellent course. I have to scan some documents for my elder son and email them to him. Then I will let younger son know the arrangements I have made for next Saturday’s trip to see the Summer Exhibition. It was disconcerting to discover after booking the tickets and lunch that there might be a train strike on that day! So I would get a bus to Oxford and then the bus to London.I would leave very very early.

Jaxjacky Fri 22-Jul-22 07:12:43

Morning all from S Hants where I’m hoping I can see rain clouds approaching.
Bet it looks stunning Blue and worth the upheaval.
Happy Birthday Gingster ???
MrJ is off to Belfast later, annual family golf day and no doubt more birthday celebrations.
Glad your car is sorted Urms
Enjoy your day all ??

brook2704 Fri 22-Jul-22 07:10:00

A very Happy Birthday Gingster enjoy you special day! ???
We’re looking after the DGC today, the week long course of swimming lessons is finishing and it’s a new activity next week - basketball camp I think
Enjoy your time away with the family Greyduster
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Beechnut Fri 22-Jul-22 07:02:22

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where we have a grey sky and a coolness. I had to put the light on in the kitchen this morning.

Off to do the weekly shop and pop some letters in the post box later. On my return I’ve got to sort out some material to make Beechnutella a fairy costume. Never tires of dressing up that girl, as old as she is ?

Happy Birthday Ginster have a lovely day ???

Have a good day all ??

monk08 Fri 22-Jul-22 07:00:07

Good morning all from a very wet Black country, typical first day of the school holidays.
It looks like a day in with the trains DS is bringing the boys over we were hoping to go out somewhere.
Meeting friends at the club later this evening.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, ?to any newbies, safe travels for those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Take care all and enjoy your Friday may you all find some ?.
