That's it, really.

I'm just really cross! I hope their plants wilt. angry

I didnt make that connection... thank you!
Do you just leave it in there til it rots away?...normally...sorry!!

MissAdventure Sat 23-Jul-22 20:31:14

Well, I do.
Or you can bake the skins and grind them into a powder which you sprinkle on the earth.
I go for the lazy method. smile

Fleur20 Sat 23-Jul-22 20:51:40

I will be having a banana for breakfast tomorrow morning then!!
Thank you!

MissAdventure Sat 23-Jul-22 21:09:40

smile
You're welcome.
I'm no Percy Thrower, by the way, though.

Chewbacca could the loppers have fallen down into the hedge? Is it evergreen or might they appear suspended there when the leaves fall in autumn?

Chewbacca Sat 23-Jul-22 21:25:37

No Richmond it's not a big hedge and not very dense and so something the size of those loppers would easily be seen. I searched under the hedge, along the pavement (just in case they'd fallen off the top of the hedge) the shed in the back garden, even tipped the contents of the wheelie bin out (though I knew they couldn't possibly be there). They woz nicked!

Have you checked the ‘Have you ever stolen’ thread for watering cans MissA?

SparklyGrandma Sat 23-Jul-22 21:58:38

I bring mine inside every time I use it as I’m sure it would walk otherwise.

Any sightings of any lost, found or wandering watering cans so far today?

My item which always disappears is pruning shears. I think most of them ended their lives in the recycling bin for green waste!!!! I almost lost my phone this way as the other day i could not find it. I even rang it from the house phone. So i had to back track through what i had done that morning and where. Yes there it was at the bottom of the bin covered in greenery!!!! smile Re the watering can issue, try getting hold of a couple of 6pint milk containers. I use these and find them easier to carry, plus of course i don't think they would disappear!!!!

We put up a swing from a tree in the garden. Thieves took the rope and left the seat. We replaced the rope and again it went.
Our car was broken into and vandalised along with several other cars that night. The only things missing were an umbrella and a coat I had just bought in a jumble sale.
The police took these to check for fingerprints? When I called to ask for them back I was told they were at HQ lost property!!
To get them back would have cost me much more in fares than they were worth
However I discovered that there are sales for charity at police HQ and perhaps there could be a few watering cans.

Ps are you quite sure a fox had peed in the trainers Dilly All our sons' trainers smelled like that shock

I thought I head it yesterday evening.
You know the sound an empty can makes?

Baggytrazzas Sun 24-Jul-22 15:48:26

Yes, I think so - keep listening and when you hear it again call out to it. wink

Slightly off subject but banana skin can get rid of verrucas. I had an absolute horror of one on my big toe and the chiropodist tried almost everything. She couldn't use anything too toxic as I'm diabetic so she researched it and recommended wrapping a banana skin round my toe at night. It worked!

RichmondPark1 Sun 24-Jul-22 17:05:15

Have you thought of leaving your gardening gloves out overnight? If the can has strayed it might smell your scent on the gloves and find its way home?

MissAdventure Sun 24-Jul-22 17:06:00

grin
Good thinking!

Aldom Sun 24-Jul-22 17:25:00

My watering can is very worried about your watering can MissAdventure. Mine would be terribly, terribly homesick, were he to be stolen. He sends his love and hopes yours comes home ASAP.

Callistemon21 Sun 24-Jul-22 17:29:47

? That looks just like my watering can, Aldom

I hope mine hasn't gone for a wander, looking for MissA's watering can!

Ooooh Callistermon I wonder??
You see, my very old watering can became incontinent (leaks a bit). I had to buy this new one a few weeks ago. Do you think it's possible that yours could have wandered and found its way to Oxfordshire? Not sure where you live. Anyway, I'll give this one a good home, so don't worry. grin

Callistemon21 Sun 24-Jul-22 17:55:21

We have a red one too and it's been leaking tears since its brother went on walkabout ?

I think I heard the other one muttering "I deserve a better garden than this".

Baggytrazzas Sun 24-Jul-22 23:08:25

we should all be writing comedy sketches for tv.

hope everyone has a peaceful night and that all wandering watering cans find their way back home safely.

Aldom Sun 24-Jul-22 23:50:53

Good night watering cans everywhere moonsmile

I sympathise! Somebody pinched one of my balls, a Heather coloured one, it was hanging at the front of my house minding it's own business, I came back from dog walking one day and realised it had vanished. A bit miffed, its one of 3

VioletSky Mon 25-Jul-22 12:33:44

A phenomenon I have noticed

If I put something outside my front garden with a note saying free, it doesn't go anywhere...

If I leave anything on my front path, it's gone the next day.

I've taken to popping things that aren't good enough to pass on there and saving myself a journey to the tip
