Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk seaside! We travelled up early yesterday and the roads were clear. A very windy day here but it was a warm southerly.
We gardened and tidied the wild flower areas . It looks so pretty when they are blooming but soon become straggly and untidy.
Don’t have to mow the lawns (more like bare earth) . The grass will soon come back ?.
Lots of kite surfers here making the most of the breeze and huge waves. Lovely to see them soaring so high in the air.
Sorry to hear about your leading actors down with Covid, Ash. When do you ‘open’ ?
GM I think you’re doing to right thing moving near to you DD. It will give her peace of mind too. See more of your Gd’s,
A new start! ♥️.
Someone on here said about their bedroom blind ‘thrashing around’, when a strong wind is blowing. We had the same last night and ended up not having them down. Got to have the windows open! ?.
I hope you all have a pleasant, gentle day. ?

Good Morning Monday 25th July 2022
(52 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking cooler with a bit of a breeze here in brackley .
A day of tasks after a small shop , I will do some housework .
I usually take a reading of my electric meter on a Sunday to workout the weekly use , and then go online to website and give a reading as its more or less 3 months up .
I went online only see the supplier had already taken a reading , and the bill was already to read .
Take Care,
Mick
A poignant day Maw you both look so in love in that photo ?
Maw
Good morning from a dull and wet Black Country.
Monday walk this morning, where we cover from 5 -7 miles. I hope it is only 5 today!
No other plans for the day, so carry on reading my book.
Wishing you all a pleasant day
Good morning all from N Bucks where it is sunny but with a fresh breeze.
Despite everything I found it a sticky night and had the Dyson fan on all night. My new smart meter tells me that cost 75p including running dishwasher overnight. It certainly raises awareness of energy usage!
Got to find somebody to replace my TV aerial which blew down yesterday afternoon with the most enormous crash, scaring Rosie and me out of what few wits we possess between us.
A sad start to your week too GrandMattie - I just sometimes think life’s a bitch.
Finally, bitter sweet memories of 52 years ago today when Paw and I tied the knot in the University Chapel in St Andrews. How young we were and what little thought we gave to “in sickness and in health until death us do part”.
Well it may have parted us in that sense but we shall never be parted in my heart and I am so grateful for his love throughout the 47 years of our marriage
Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is 17 degrees and feels a bit fresher after last nights rain.
That is such sad news about your neighbour Grandmattie but good to hear about your plans for new beginnings closer to your DD and family.
Not a lot on the agenda here today. DH has to go in to the city centre for business. I may go with him for a change of scene for an hour. I also have a couple of calls to make later.
Take care everyone.
Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining but it doesn't feel as warm as yesterday.
We had rain about 01.00 this morning, a heavy shower that woke me up.
Finally I am getting my hair cut today after the problems last week. It has got out of hand and I am looking forward to having it short again.
Have a lovely Monday everyone xx
Good morning all from a cloudy and breezy North Leicestershire.
DH and I did some gardening yesterday only to get a message from our gardener saying she is coming this morning. She will find there is still plenty to do!
It is week 3 of our cognitive maintenance course for people living with dementia. I am fit for nothing by the time I get home.
No Matt.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a bit nippy this morning. We had a lot of rain in the night. We have no plans but I’d like to pop over to our youngest daughter’s, sit with a coffee (she has one of those machines) and hear all about the camping weekend!
Enjoy Monday all who can.
That’s a beautiful necklace marydoll well done in making it yourself, I love the colour!
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still raining, we’ve had lots of rain over the weekend, hopefully it’ll stop soon
Sad news about your young neighbour gMattie
We’re dropping DGS off at his basketball camp first thing and then taking DGD somewhere. Not sure where yet as it depends on the weather so it might just be back to our house to play with some toys
Safe travels home Ash and everyone else travelling today
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from a damp and cloudy Glasgow. We had relentless, torrential rain yesterday.
Mick, you really should see your GP about that weight loss, it's worrying, given your recent health worries.
What a sad post from you today, GM, so much heartache for you this year. ?
Yesterday, to calm my nerves about tomorrow's procedure, (it's not the procedure, but the results, which are concerning me) I decided to make a necklace for a dress I have.
I was shocked to find an enormous, forgotten stash of beads I had collected on my travels over the years. The market in Rome was a beadmaker's Nirvana for semi-precious stones and findings!
Once in a jeweller's shop and wearing an aquamarine necklace I had made, the owner was shocked to find how cheaply I had made the necklace and asked if I would be interested in making some to sell.
Due to my dodgy hands and my exacting standards, I declined. I can no longer do the fiddly bits and feel my end results look amateurish.
To my horror yesterday, I had forgotten how to do some of the techniques, my brain was absolute mush!
So here is a photo of the finished item, yellow jade, minus the fiddly bits to keep the beads fixed. I just couldn't manage it. ? However, no-one is going to be close enough to notice!
I hope I have an empty today, last week's didn't materialise, because SIL hurt his back and couldn't drive. I got a shock, when I found he was still here. ?
I'm going to do a complete sweep of the house, later, just to make sure! ?
Wishing you all, a pleasant day and a gentle one, for all who are suffering.
Good morning from a cool Oxfordshire, rain overnight, but the wind has dropped, it blew my dustbin over yesterday!
Dog sitting day today, so housework/washing/bed changing day.
Have a good day everyone.
Message withdrawn.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. A good heavy shower last night and I’m sure the grass is looking a little greener.
grandMattie such sad news about your neighbour. Next year will be exciting hopefully as you consider a new move. ?
? SunshineSally hope your eye appointment goes well.
This morning DGS is getting dropped off about 8 and that’s him with us until about 6 tonight so a busy day. Yesterday was lovely as they all came over for a bbq. GS and GD played lovely on the water chute taking turns. Baby B was full of sunshine smiles.
Have a good day everyone and hugs for those who aren’t feeling well this morning or weighed down by sadness. ??
Well, I did absolutely nothing just then and that posted itself!
After yoga I shall have coffee in the little local cafe before getting the bus home.
Then will probably sit out in the garden after lunch with a book.
Washing to hang out shortly, so woll wish everyone a pleasant day.
Good morning, all, from a damp Whiddon Down.
Mick: I’m on smart meters, which is working well as I’ve insisted on only being charged for what I use. In late May, my supplier sent an email, notifying me that my DD for May for electricity would be £664!!! We had been away for half the month! When I rang to query the amount, I was told they have to send someone to read the meter annually and the meter reader must have made a mistake! Phew! And people don’t trust smart meters…!
How sad about your neighbour, grandMattie! A wise decision to move nearer DD (plus Iris and her sister) but waiting until next year is good, too.
Tonight’s rehearsal has been cancelled as three cast members now have Covid, all main characters: René, Edith and Yvette. ☹️
I’m travelling back to Torquay today as my “Move It Or Lose It Class” is at 1.00pm.
Have a good week and good luck with your eye test, SunshineSally.
Seeing dolphins ? is very special, Greyduster!
?????
Morning Mick, ironing All. Sunny with some lurking dark clouds on the horizon
Our friend remains in hospital, we continue to support her daughter by phone. Visiting Blenheim today, it will be a long one. Mr. C didn’t sleep well, a rarity for him, he’s unusually grumpy. Oh dear.
Sad news about your neighbour grandmattie. It sounds as if next year will see a big decision for you, good to be close to family.
Best get sorted, time and a grumpy Mr C will wait for no woman. Hope Monday is kind to us all.
Good morning from a bright, sunny and windy Northampton.
An early morning for me as it is an early yoga class and I have to get myself there on the even earlier bus. My friend who usually gives me a lift is on gandma duties
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from Northumberland where it is raining at the moment. Yesterday we had a pod of dolphins swimming past here. DD spotted one first and then they seemed to be everywhere! Very exciting and a good start to our day. Today GS and his dad were supposed to be going sea kayaking but the weather conditions are not going to be good enough so they are going coasteering instead. DD and I will walk up to the castle.
GM I think you are wise to consider a move to be nearer your DD. I consider myself fairly resilient, but if I didn’t have the security of having at least one of my children very close to hand at the moment I would sink without trace.
Enjoy the best day you can, folks.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. We have a mix of a beautiful blue sky and dark clouds.
Not nice news at all about your neighbour Mattie.
I’ll see how it goes in the next hour and if those clouds get a shift on towards the east I’ll wash the bedding.
First thing though I’ll give the floor of the shed it’s final coat of paint and then do some sewing on Beechnutella’s ‘wings’. I’m pleased with the other part of her costume.
Have a good day all ??
That should read Mick and everyone ! How I wish you could edit comments posted.
Sorry to hear that GM
Good morning Mick from a breezy South Hants. I hope your electric reading was not too different from the suppliers’.
Been awake since 4am - DH still ‘gently’ snoring as is the cat and probably the dog! Today I have my yearly eye test - something I always worry about as they’re definitely getting worse ?. Am keeping my fingers crossed ?
?Hoping that everyone has a good day today and extra ??for those that are struggling and/or have difficult days ahead.
Good morning, a damp start here.
Oh dear grandMattie, it’s certainly not a good year for you sending ? and a ?
Last of the painting here this week, then only upstairs carpets to be done.
I plan to do very little this week but I must do some gardening, it’s a jungle in places!
Hope everyone has a good week x
Good morning from a grey E Kent. We had a strong breeze yesterday, but it was from the south and certainly not cooling.
Poor DS spent his day clearing his stuff. He is a nomad and has left all his previous things with us. He found it very hard.
DH and I had already decided that upon his death I should move to the West Country, as it was fair me being alone and 5 hours away from DD. I’m not moving just yet, but shall probably put the house on the market in the spring or next summer.
Today, I’m moving the bed with the help of DS and the cleaner to get rid of all the horrible dust and dust bunnies from underneath it. I’m hoping my gardener will be back too. So I’ll be pretty tired by the end of all that.
Had horrible new yesterday afternoon. My young neighbour, 55 yo, has got thyroid cancer with a very slender survival rate, and very short time to live. They have operated and hope everything came out…. Not being a good year around here, is it?
Have a good day, everyone, do as you’re told. Carpe diem. ?????
