Lovely coat. We had a new car this year. Our other one was 15 years old. When we got the new (ish) one, DH said it will see us out.

We refuse to countenance anything seeing us out!!

A friend and I had new kitchens a similar amount of time ago - we are going to replace, they think theirs will see them out.

It’s one of the reasons I don’t want a dog of my own - I’m worried he’d see me out! Happy to have DD2s pooches a couple of days a week and for holidays though.

Oh, tell me about it.
I have been thinking very seriously about turning my dining room into a bedroom for me so that I am self contained on one floor but keep thinking ,is it worth it?
I turned 85 two weeks ago.
I have fairly shabby couches, again is it worth it.
It is actually a depressing situation.
Anyone who can go for anything and know they can should go for it, whether clothing, furniture of white goods.
You may well see them out and get to replace them.

We had a new boiler installed and the chap who installed it said"Well that's you fit up for the next 25 years". We both just looked at each other.
I must admit I try never to say anything age-related, my father bought a new car and said" It will see me out", and it certainly did 18 months later. We have both passed the age that our fathers got to but our mothers were quite long-lived.

We've been given a quote for solar panels plus battery to store the electricity.

I used to think the phrase very funny but now I’m 75 I think ‘how much longer do I have’. As Bette Davis said ‘getting old isn’t for sissies’.

Lovely coat by the way. ?

My OH recently bought a pack of 10 underpants from M&S, saying "that'll........."

We have bought the EV. Apparently it's not the last as OH wants one you can use to store the excess electricity from our solar panels to use in the evening. Not yet available here but in the U.S. so only a matter of time.
I'm thinking of replacing hedges with walls to make life easier in our old(er) age.

Oh, nice coat. Very nice!

DH and I often used to say "That'll see us out" and laugh. Now he doesn't and scowls if I do. It's getting a bit too real. But at least neither of us are yet saying "No, I shan't buy that, I'll never get the use out of it." as my DGM would say too often!

One of my father’s favourite phrases, whether applied to a suit, coat, lawnmower or camera!
Today I took delivery of a new coat (White Stuff sale, £60 off) and found myself thinking just that. So what else will “see me out” ?
Is Rosie to be my last dog, am I on my last cooker/ fridge/ sofas / dining table etc?
Obviously not my washing machine or dishwasher - they will conk out the minute I feel a bit short of money and the car… who knows but I do hope I might run to an EV in a couple of years.
What will “see you out” ?
